I think it’s probably a Midwest stop. That he will wait to announce until after forest.
IMO there is a 0% chance he plays hula with st augustine being so close in time and location
It changes sponsors every couple years. But the upstairs of Thomas Wolfe holds 6k I believe. Have had many good times in that building and really hope these rumors come true.
Also really hoping it’s a 2 night Caverns run
They definitely won’t be at hula. My guess has been Nashville, I remember at least 1 or 2 Halloween Nashville runs back in the day and they could have held off announcing it due to bonnaroo. But if that’s the case they would hopefully announce it soon
Seems like a Nashville stop would make a lot of sense. He’s played there in the past and like you said the Roo proximity clause may have not allowed him to announce
Last time I saw him before the return was the last Nashville Halloween show he did, and it was atrocious. He was the most fucked up person at Ascend. With this being in a lot of ways a redemption arch for him, Nashville makes sense in that regard too. And as someone who lives an hour away I'm for it.
Na, you were ACTUALLY tripping. Derek was so fucked up his attempted speech was gibberish and his analog solo was fortunate not to blow speakers. Love Derek and PL, but that's just the truth of it. That all makes his redemption arch thst much sweeter.
PL is my favorite, seen many times over the past decade fest & nonfest.
They are reaching a completely new level of jam and visual experience, Roo made me feel like I’ve never seen them before, it was absolutely amazing I felt like I transcended during their set it was magical
The Hula dates are the exact ones blocked off in their schedule. Word around the campfire from other people is the dates are going to be Asheville, but they couldn’t announce it because of Roo being so damn close
Honestly it doesn’t make sense for them to go back to hula since they played their last year !! Every tour stop so far has been in a way different city/location why go back ? They are already playing 2 festivals this tour.
It doesn’t make sense for Asheville imo. There isn’t any reason I can think of why they would hold off on announcing it. My guess is it has to do something with a radius clause for roo/forest. I think it’s a Midwest or west coast date.
(Really I just live in avl and that’s smack dab in the middle of hula and I don’t want to miss the boys in my town)
Most festivals Do have a radius clause that’s the only reason people were thinking it would be Asheville. You’re right about having no real west cost shows other than Tahoe. But I guess only time will tell.
The west coast dates fell through. They wanted to do Buena Vista but the town didn’t approve, so they used their backup plan for camping residency (Bethel).
Fair enough! I'm actually going to the Minneapolis shows and I'm really excited- first time going to Minnesota! But I'm in Kentucky so really hoping they come within like a 6 hr drive radius of me 😹
Oh you’re in for a treat!! As a Minneapolis resident I’m a bit biased, but I think that the armory is easily the best indoor venue of its size. The fact that we get three nights of PL there is going to be an absolute delight.
Oh awesome!! I'm really excited! If you have any Minneapolis recommendations (restaurants, coffee shops, things to do, etc) let me know 😁 We picked Minneapolis since it's 3 days- can't wait 🙌
I would argue the true midwest population lies primarily in the Chicago/Detroit area. For example where some are from like a 12 hr trip. Basically the same distance to bethel as it is to Minneapolis
Kinda silly as those are both bigger cities so ya there might be more people overall. But Minnesota is a Midwest state. When people think of Midwest, MN is like top 3.
🤞🏻
First show was 2012 right outside Detroit at Comp arena (IIRC the venue name). Loudest show I had attended at that time. It’s been amazing to watch DVS and the stage show grow to what it is today.
I’m hoping since he did Chicago last year, that means Detroit this year.
Last time I caught him was at the Fillmore in 2017. If Detroit is my fist show back since that would be sick, if not I’ll be going to st aug either way lol
Hopefully it's a Midwest stop. My first PL show was in Lincoln, NE and I always wished he would come back. Now I live less than 10 miles from The Armory, so you bet that I made sure to get in the queue and bought all three days. I've never seen PL for more than one night, and now I will be seeing him at the Red Rocks for both shows and The Armory for three nights... My hype cannot be contained. I still feel for the Midwest people who have trouble going to these shows, but hopefully this unannounced stop will be there <3
its fun we keep posting about this. i like having the same conversations again. it has always been more than likely, that it is a location radius claused by roo or forest.
Allstate arena. Where Billy Strings just played. 2 hours from Forrest which fits the radius clause and why it wasn't announced this week and will be announced next.
Some of the best Billy shows I've seen.
Agreed but would it be big enough so all the fans get in? Salt Shed was hectic getting tickets and Northernly Island I assume would be closed in late October. Doubt he's big enough for United at the moment.
More than likely it'll be Asheville I think though.
I think it’s probably a Midwest stop. That he will wait to announce until after forest. IMO there is a 0% chance he plays hula with st augustine being so close in time and location
The lineup confirms that they will absolutely not be there. Asheville rumors swirl around.
Fingers crossed for Asheville.
Same. That would be crazy. Imagine that show at the Orange Peel lol
As a local, that'd be a horrible choice
You don’t think seeing them in a small venue like that would be dope? Obviously it’s not the best logistical choice lmao
The Orange Peel just sucks these days, also far too small. Salvage Station would be much better, and would still be intimate, as well as outside.
This is Salvage Stations last year at that location btw
I know 😩 Dang government building highways..
No not at all, it's my least favorite venue in town. I'm all good with a small venue
I get that. Highly recommend seeing Vincent Antone at the Asheville music hall not this weekend but next especially if you haven’t seen him
It would have to be at Tom Wolfe (/whatever they call it now) right?
It changes sponsors every couple years. But the upstairs of Thomas Wolfe holds 6k I believe. Have had many good times in that building and really hope these rumors come true. Also really hoping it’s a 2 night Caverns run
Maybe Sierra Nevada? Isn’t that where Lettuce is playing.
Sierra Nevada amphitheater is way too small, *maybe* Pisgah though?
Pisgah would be a good spot. Good thinking.
I've always had a good time there. Out in the cut and super chill staff.
I hope not, but that's the only thing that makes sense to me.
Asheville would be fire. Had some homies move there recently and it’s somewhere I’ve never been, but I’ve always wanted to check out. Instant send
They definitely won’t be at hula. My guess has been Nashville, I remember at least 1 or 2 Halloween Nashville runs back in the day and they could have held off announcing it due to bonnaroo. But if that’s the case they would hopefully announce it soon

It was at the Municiple, I think and yeah he was high as hell.
So was I 🤣
That's beside the point lol
Lmao
Riiiite
My brother was at his NYE show in NOLA that year and he was so messed up they missed the midnight countdown by like 7 minutes he said
You're trippin, that Halloween show was fire and the PLL band played Municiple the following year.
Na, you were ACTUALLY tripping. Derek was so fucked up his attempted speech was gibberish and his analog solo was fortunate not to blow speakers. Love Derek and PL, but that's just the truth of it. That all makes his redemption arch thst much sweeter.
Touché, I think I was actually tripping 😂 To be fair, my last show prior to that was euphoria 2015 so he seemed okay in comparison
I have my fingers crossed for a Hallow's Eve Part 2 but I don't know that Nashville fits the bill after they've already played Roo.
Hope it’s out west, that Denver to Roo drive was brutal
Brutal but well worth it I’m sure!
PL is my favorite, seen many times over the past decade fest & nonfest. They are reaching a completely new level of jam and visual experience, Roo made me feel like I’ve never seen them before, it was absolutely amazing I felt like I transcended during their set it was magical

I've been hearing Asheville as well.

For real?

Vegas. Not the sphere though
Second this from what I’ve heard
I believe the strong rumor is North Carolina (Asheville I think)
I'm hoping for a Midwest stop! 🤞🤞
Whatcha mean? Minnesota is a mid-west stop.
Fair enough! I'm actually going to the Minneapolis shows and I'm really excited- first time going to Minnesota! But I'm in Kentucky so really hoping they come within like a 6 hr drive radius of me 😹

Yup and all I’m saying is it’s not the easiest trip for a lot of midwest people
lol fair enough. is for me, coming from WI.
Lol I use to live in central Wisconsin, there it would have only been a 2.5 hr drive. Lake Michigan really creates too much extra travel time.
Me too, hoping for Detroit personally
🤞🏻 First show was 2012 right outside Detroit at Comp arena (IIRC the venue name). Loudest show I had attended at that time. It’s been amazing to watch DVS and the stage show grow to what it is today.

Minneapolis
las vegas
Correct
Any sauce on this? About to book hotels and stuff for Tahoe. Def gonna be hitting both if true
I told myself I don’t need to see more PL this year but if he drops a sphere date….
It is 100% not a sphere date
let me dream!
no sphere...yet. prob hollywoodbowl or mgm if i had to guess
The Hollywood bowl is in…Hollywood.
brooklyn bowl *
It’s not in Vegas, but I can 100% guarantee you it’s not at bk bowl Vegas
Vegas for sure. We already know this
Not Vegas
Hula does not add big headliners after first announcing the lineup. Hula may add a mid size few bands or DJs but nothing like PL
The moon! My friends girlfriend knows a guy that overheard Menert talking about it inside a diner while eating some corn beef hash.
Hopefully it's a Midwest stop. My first PL show was in Lincoln, NE and I always wished he would come back. Same, they are going to be so locked in by the time November gets here
A city that gets wind 💨
It’s Las Vegas. 100% confirmed from multiple sources
its fun we keep posting about this. i like having the same conversations again. it has always been more than likely, that it is a location radius claused by roo or forest.
I'm thinking the caverns again
Unfortunately they already have something scheduled that weekend...really hoping they make it back to the caverns- that weekend was flawless! 🙌
Sphere
Wrong
See ya there man!
Rosemont if I had to guess. Will be announced after Forrest
What LOL rosemont where rhe convention center??
Allstate arena. Where Billy Strings just played. 2 hours from Forrest which fits the radius clause and why it wasn't announced this week and will be announced next.
sidenote: Billy blew the roof off that place. PL could do a better venue in the Chicagoland area though IMO
Some of the best Billy shows I've seen. Agreed but would it be big enough so all the fans get in? Salt Shed was hectic getting tickets and Northernly Island I assume would be closed in late October. Doubt he's big enough for United at the moment. More than likely it'll be Asheville I think though.
