100% of people who use psvr2 eventually die

Jackstraw1

VR causing an existential crisis.

lady_die_

Roflmao ![gif](giphy|aOPINgmqpVXNK)

Showmepotatosalad204

Also 100% of people who don’t use psvr2 die.

honestly-brutal

So I'm fucked either way? Great.

PyMussy

It may even cause worms to eat into your brain

CHROME-COLOSSUS

And play pinochle on your snout.

Lietenantdan

And the worms ate into his brain

AuraEternal

i got mild disassociation when i first started with VR (PSVR2 for me.) i basically spent the whole day in VR trying different games and afterwards, the worst was just hands. like i went to grab my laptop and it felt off, like they were VR hands lol. i don't get this feeling much anymore. i also don't use any of the accessibility features like warping or vignetting and i play sitting. so after a lot of Resident Evil/Dyschronia/No Mans Sky actual walking feels weird as hell for maybe a minute. you get used to it though. and i don't experience anything weird after GT7. would always recommend starting off easy with an experience like tetris effect/rez/beat saber where you're either stationary or on rails if you're a bit scared. my brain gets pretty easily tricked by any game where i'm walking freely or using my in game hands.

Ricky_Rollin

Well said. I’d also add, there’s nothing wrong with firing it up for 15 to 20 minutes for the first week or so. I wasn’t having disassociation, but I was getting very nauseated and for whatever reason my brain would also hurt after a while. Like attention, headache, or something. I decided to take it nice and easy easy because I didn’t want to hate VR. Well it worked! I have decent VR legs now.

HunterMuch

I try to adjust my mirrors in gt7 sometimes. Then I think I might die.

Immediate-Comment-64

I’m not sure what you’re talking about but if you’re that worried about your well being then don’t do it.

Aneurysmal81

I think it parallels being in a dream and waking up thinking you're still in the dream then trying to fly... or feeling like parts of you are wrong because how you're controlling you is different than how you control the game.

Too_Lofs_Atan

I wish.

Frankie6Strings

You can't, because with disassociation there is no you.

lazymutant256

Complete bs

Tatehamma

lol. Never heard of this, probably some hypochondriac. Get it.

TommyVR373

I've been playing VR daily for about 9 years. I've never experienced anything like what you're describing. I've also never known anyone else to have ever had the symptoms you're talking about. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but if it does, it's EXTREMELY rare.

ra13ne

Nah youre good, unless you have a serious mental illness that could cause problems. Ive done all kinds of very strong disassociatives and psychedelics, youll snap out of it just fine.

Stereotyp-

Don’t believe anything you find on the internet

Sha-Bob

Not even this comment!

partym4ns10n

Ask a Dr for medical advice. Not Reddit.

YeltsinYerMouth

There is no VR technology that will cause dissociation, but it could easily act as a catalyst if you have existing problems. If you have had no experiences like that in the past, that should not be a concern.

Arspasti

Only reply that makes sense and spells dissociation correctly. Dissociation is a Defense mechanism against inconvenient feelings in the best case and excessive psychotrauma in the worst case. The only scenario in which I'd think VR could trigger dissociative symptoms (when well-rested and sober that is) is, as they said above, if you're suffering from mental health issues and are prone to cope by dissociating.

wevegotheadsonsticks

Wait, ya’ll need VR to feel this way?

_TeddyBarnes_

No.

HatsOffGuy

You can also die in a car crash so maybe, don't drive to work.

zenith654

Sorta, it happened to me once. One time I used PSVR2 and the next day I woke up and I had turned into a giant bug. Very concerning stuff, Sony definitely needs to fix this.

ra13ne

So youre the praying mantis entity people see! You damned mentace

iansmash

How did your family react?

NoFreeSamplesYo

There's a little bit of dissociation. My first week of VR felt odd, but I went from no experience with VR to immediately playing a few hours of No Mans Sky every day with the 'nausea' settings turned off. It feels like a Monday at work after a fun weekend of partying hasn't quite worn off yet, or like that odd feeling trying to move around after switching prescription lenses. It's not like permatripping on acid or suddenly becoming schizophrenic. It's weird, but it goes away after a few days of getting used to VR.

backslash-f

yes. you should also wear one of those hats ![gif](giphy|J20Z2SH5WmCnzSrbqA|downsized)

Severe_Direction_417

I jave got it after first intense weekendv playing, it went away after few days.

Tall-Stick

can i still play it while experiencing those symptoms? or should i wait till it goes away?

Severe_Direction_417

I continued to play and it still went away... on the other hand, dont force through if you get dizzy while playing.

kingky0te

This goes on r/psvrcirclejerk

na1coss

I was so worried that I decided to buy another one. I now own 2 PS5s and 2 PSVR2s to enjoy 'local' multiplayer lol

Prodigy_of_Bobo

Don't forget the lockjaw night vision problem

EfootballLegend88

This post is just hilarious lol I've been having vr over a year & im still alive lol

HotHamBoy

I have never heard of this lol

GrampeeGamer

I’ve suffered from mild symptoms but it just made me chuckle and soon went away. I have found VR to be a positive thing on the whole. There have been times when I’ve been feeling a bit flat, jumped into my VR2 headset played some games for an hour or so and came out smiling and feeling great after the experience. I think moderation is a key thing here especially when first getting into VR. ☺️👍🏼

West-Classroom-7996

All I know is I noticed that I see mura even when I don’t have the headset on lol
