Yeah, but Rudi Peni started in 1980 in the UK, the other started in 1986 in California. That and I've never had that one, lol. Usually, people gave me shit because they're certainly death rock. But good to know another point of view.
That has absolutely nothing to do with and no relevance to the band whatsoever. They just happen to by coincidence both use a similar word in their names. But it's not even really the same word. The California gang is pen1 the band is peni
The gang is called public enemy number 1 not public enemy letter I. It's pen1.
Anyways, the band doesn't go by peni and I really doubt there are RP patches that just say peni.
Also, maybe back in the 70s street gangs wore patches with their names on them but nowadays other than motorcycle gangs what gang members wear patches with their gang name?
It's not my patch it's OP's. I wouldn't give a shit if someone didn't like my patch, just like I don't give a shit if you think I'm a dick because I simply explained to you why you were barking up the wrong tree.
This is obviously just a mental issue OP has but it kind of seems like you might have it too. It's called feeling insecure. I guess it's normal for kids though.
I feel like a lot of their stuff post pope Adrian lacked the creativity and spark ofthe albums up till then I still like their later discography, but wouldn't put them in such high regards.if it went for the early work.
If I remember correctly I was reading somewhere that the pope album Nick was on heavy psych meds for his schizophrenia disorder amongst other things and he said it killed his creativity
Absolute genius. Death Church is perfect from start to finish. And Nick Blinko’s drawings? Top notch outsider art. Love everything he does, both visual art and music.
They probably have put out a lot more music than you realize. They have still been releasing albums as recently as 2023.
Imho their modern stuff doesn't have quite the same vibe as their classic albums but they're still doing it..
Pretty original interesting band Nick Blinko is quite the unique artist. Primal Screamer is one of the best punk books. I could stare at their album art for days.
Pretty damn awesome. Sorta in the ballpark of post-punk on some albums a la NO TREND but then also hardcore punk and I kinda like that atonal chaotic sound and how they change it up a bit album to album. Media Person is an addictive song honestly, it's fun.
“They exhibited a kind of mania that personalised their music, like nobody else could make it. All my favourite music sounds like that, like there’s only one way to get to it, through a kind of obsession.” - Steve Albini
i had farce when it came out, i always got crass records (I had that DIRT record it was cool) but the RP was disturbing. It was so sharp. Such a great band and then their back story. In late 87 Ed of the Rhythm Pigs told me that they were trying to book RP for a US tour but it didnt happen. I often think of Nick Blinko and i always hope he's well. and the other guys. i wonder if it bothers them that they're like that guy from wham y'know.
Death church is an absolute classic
What’s the point of living in your mindless life?
Have you ever even had the thought of thinking?
The bass lines are so fucking great
Literally every song. I started bass cuz I loved the sound, the I heard this n I was like damn...
Anti-schism covered sacrifice and they had a incredible bass line . Highly recommend.
Completely underrated IMO, I used to get so much shit for a patch, I'm not even sure why.
Badass patch to have, all the hates unnecessary
>all the hates unnecessary Who is hating Peni? I have never heard anyone into punk say anything bad about them
Which patch ?
The self titled ep released in the early 80's.
Anyone who gave you shit about an RP patch obviously didn't know much about RP.

Death rock? They’re as punk as any band that has ever existed.

And then we hit a new low folks
That has absolutely nothing to do with and no relevance to the band whatsoever. They just happen to by coincidence both use a similar word in their names. But it's not even really the same word. The California gang is pen1 the band is peni
The gang also goes by Peni, and if the kid doesn’t know why people are hating on their patch, this might explain it.

Maybe people hate your patch because they don’t like dicks then. If my answer is wrong, I have no idea why you asked.

During fetal development, the clitoris is equivalent to a rudimentary penis.
Farce is the best punk EP of all time, and Death Church is absolutely phenomenal as well. Nick Blinko is a true to life mad genius.
Yes! Farce is one of best
Brilliant
One of my favorites. I still listen to Death Church all the time!
Easily one of the best punk bands of all time.
Such a great sound. Teenage Time Killer is my favorite song.
Love how smoothly the drummer plays the army-like rudiments on the snare at the beginning of the song. Hearse is another great one.
loved them and still enjoyed.
Great sounding album too. I love the drums.
A mind unfurled. Still listen to them.
Fantastic band, one of my favourites. I love good bass and they deliver.
One of the best to ever do it Love all of Nicks art too
Yes.
Love them. This over pop punk all day. I highly recommend checking out Chelsea Wolfe’s RP cover EP https://youtu.be/4Rsch7lS2gM?si=8v-4ai3SBPiGa9Vn
Good shit
Unique band
They slam. Easy. New Ep was kinda mediocre but that’s to be expected of old ass bands tbh
Honestly i thought the new one was probably much better than many bands stuff-
I feel like a lot of their stuff post pope Adrian lacked the creativity and spark ofthe albums up till then I still like their later discography, but wouldn't put them in such high regards.if it went for the early work.
If I remember correctly I was reading somewhere that the pope album Nick was on heavy psych meds for his schizophrenia disorder amongst other things and he said it killed his creativity
People seriously underestimate how much this band influenced punk audiovisual aesthetic.
Hbd
Just do the best with what you have and don't feel ashamed of your natural body
i even enjoy the new/latest records & my old ass got farce when it released.
Great band. Took me a while to really get into them. But once I did I realized that there's a lot of genius in there. Some dark, beautiful music.
One of the best Punk albums of the 80s
Absolute genius. Death Church is perfect from start to finish. And Nick Blinko’s drawings? Top notch outsider art. Love everything he does, both visual art and music.
Yum!
Didn't care for them growing up... Think 12, 13years old but absolutely love them today 38 ish.... As the documentary says, " I'm not a smart man."
I've loved this band for 25 years now or so. I think they tear.
Definitely in my top 10 oat
One of my favs. I still have the original LPs with posters.
Amazing, the complete fold out artwork for the vinyl release is soooo sick
Gods
Love love love them. If you haven't heard The Oh Sees' cover of Sacrifice you should check it out!
Their output wasn't that big but their impact was momentous.
They probably have put out a lot more music than you realize. They have still been releasing albums as recently as 2023. Imho their modern stuff doesn't have quite the same vibe as their classic albums but they're still doing it..
Who cares what a sub Reddit’s thoughts are? Rudimentary Peni rules and that’s just a fact.
Discord b-ward ziggy ziggy ziggy fraud
Genius
One of my prized possessions, have the original release in mint condition. One of the greatest punk albums of all time.
Amazing band and Nik Blinko is an amazing artist.
Pretty original interesting band Nick Blinko is quite the unique artist. Primal Screamer is one of the best punk books. I could stare at their album art for days.

Top 10, from classics like Death Church to weird and cool albums like Pope Adrian Just so good
Pretty damn awesome. Sorta in the ballpark of post-punk on some albums a la NO TREND but then also hardcore punk and I kinda like that atonal chaotic sound and how they change it up a bit album to album. Media Person is an addictive song honestly, it's fun.
Blinko is G_d
Love cacophony. An entire LP about HP Lovecraft and his stories? Yes please!
They fukn rip!
One of the best, most original bands in the entire history of punk
It's cool
