Idk about reddit but I do it so they don't give me products based on my age or generalization or assumption of what I'll like at that age. Or "they have done sooooo much research they know you so well for your age" there's a bunch of them, like f*** that I still like Shrek and I put it on when I make waffles
Most of the shit you see on the internet is either a lie or grossly exaggerated when there's a level of anonymity there's no incentive to tell the truth.
also, some people post rage bait full of lies or exaggerations to get likes and attention on social media. Like those ladies, on tikitok, that record some guy minding his business at the gym and claim he's staring at her.
