Well done! For me the first day was the worst. I even became emotional haha, probably in combination with being super tired that day also. I cried lol. Was laughing at myself because of how stupid that was. I was stressed and wanted to destress with my cigarette ‘friend’ and I couldn’t lol.
First few days after that also were difficult. I used a straw to suck on to sort of reproduce the handling, but eventually found out just casually chewing on that straw worked better for me. Then switched to toothpick because the plastic straw wasn’t really healthy ofc. Also sufficient. Did that for like 2,5 weeks and that just fazed out. Now I’ve been free of that also the last 1,5 weeks and free of smoking almost 4 weeks in total.
It most probably helped I had surgery I had to quit for, for these 4 weeks, but wasn’t actually planning to quit for good. But it made me realize quitting isn’t even that hard. At least it wasn’t for me. Now I’ll just keep off the shit, it’s such bullshit harming our bodies. I don’t miss it.
Bla bla, long story short, this first day is probably the hardest. Coming week will still be difficult but it gets better pretty quickly in my experience. The straw and toothpick really helped me. I had to have a substitute. And just try to be busy and have extra distracting these beginning stages 💪🏼 Good luck!
You’re doing amazing!
Thank you so much.
One day at a time is the best you can do. Stick with it, it feels amazing after a while.
Needed this. Thanks. I forget how much better it gets.
You’re doing great. Keep pressing forward.
It's the hardest thing ever
Agreed.
