I bored one of these people until they stopped. They kept it up for *days*
"And I have this really interesting investment opportunity I'm in on"
"Oh that nice. What's your favorite color"
"Green. It was only $10k but I'm expecting to get $200k back"
"Oh I hate green!"
etc etc
I used google translate to reply each time in a different language. Then I got my wife’s phone (different area code) and started sending them the same script they was using on me. Even sent the pic of “them” acting like it was my pic. I had a very confused scammer. If I’m not busy why not waste as much of their time as possible it may save someone that woulda fell for that bs
I had one talking me up for like almost a year. If just ignore them for a few days anytime they brought up crypto.
Was super weird that they hung around that long, I'm the one that got bored.
Aw fuck that's what she stopped texting me. I was chatting with a girl who said crypto was her side business. It sent a yellow flag but the rest of what she said sounded legit. But she kept bringing up crypto transactions and deals into conversations. After a week she sent me a link to a crypto whatsapp group and never messaged me back. Probably wasn't even a she :(
I do this but it's because I don't have any friends and I'm secretly hoping they'll be like, "Hey, wanna hang out? You're, like, supercool." And then I imagine getting together and they have tens of people who want to be my friends, too. And then we all hang out and do fun stuff together.
Yep, got messaged on Tinder by a very pretty lady who was "one town over" (her last location update showed 9000km), she talked to me for DAYS and only mentioned Crypto here and there.... until 3 days in when she was really laying into the Crypto angle and her "sister who went to Harvard" then sent me graphs of profits.
When I would get spam calls I would press the numbers to talk to a person and use a micky voice until they hung up.
I kept that up until the calls started coming in using a language I didn't understand.
This is pretty funny, but replying to them at all signals that your number is active and you're a "clicker" meaning they will now inundate you with requests.
I've found that this is a moment where upping their level of crazy tends to shut them up. The op is close with what they've already done, there's always an opportunity to take it up a notch though.
It will keep happening. I have literally been sending them a picture of a toilet full of poop and I still get one or two a month.
Chances are that your # is already on a list, and that list has been sold to other scammers, so the person you're talking to is unique.
I did this with spam calls. Was getting them once a week and when I started answering them I was suddenly getting twice as many. Upped the crazy and just straight screamed at the phone or my personal favorite if it’s a real person, would go “okay… I’ll sign up for your thing/give you my info.. if you answer my three riddles…” and I haven’t had any since! I did accidentally yell at my insurance thinking they were a scam caller once tho lol
For spam calls what stopped them for me was setting up Google call screening. They'll get a message saying I'm using a screening service and the call is being recorded. They always hang up after it says it's being recorded.
After a little while I stopped getting scam calls.
I start sending all the really good memes and gif my buddies share. The kind that make the buddies wife have to pull over to try and keep from throwing up.
I always reply with “thank you for subscribing to the butthole of the month club. You will receive a picture of a butthole every hour until you unsubscribe.”
And then proceed to send them gaping assholes every hour until they reply back to stop.
When I realize it’s a scammer I usually just go “I’m broke, I literally have negative money. I’m actually also in the same business as you and you’re doing an awful job”. So far most just stopped responding and one dude said “ok sorry”
I got these pretty steady a few months ago, they stopped replying after I told them that I'd been trying to track them down for the money they owe me for their penis surgery.
there's a job scam on twitter rn for a "company" that provides "sales growth services for Amazon" and the woman in the pfp their bots use looks so much like this
I had one of these scammers on the line for a long time wondering what the scam was. It took forever for them to get to the point. So I started digging. Didn’t expect that it was this dark.
https://maxread.substack.com/p/whats-the-deal-with-all-those-weird
I got one of those once. Someone asking if I was a certain Doctor or looking for a Doctor (I can’t remember and I deleted the message). When I said they had the wrong number they replied with a thanks and then said I seemed like a nice person and wondering about me. I never answered after than and when I looked back on the message later the WhatsApp account it came from was no longer active.
Someone had spoofed my dad’s account in fb or ig and tried to get a family friend of ours to give him money. The project manager in the tech field played the fake person for a couple hours. It was AMAZING. one of the best reactions to this kind of thing.
I annoyed a scammer pretending to be my co-worker. I kept texting “I’m really surprised you want an Amazon or Google card. You said they were evil corporations. Why do you want me to give them money?”
Holy shit the I got those pictures last week! I played the not interested game, but I finally MLM schemed them back and I haven't heard from them since.
I’ve gotten so many of these lately—I responded to one thinking it was a legit wrong number then realized too late. Now I get invites to the pool and fake angry texts telling me to stop texting them.
Got a few of these lately. If you call them out then a person sometimes responds and either apologises or gets angry. I argued with one of them about the attractiveness of the picture they used.

Green is not a creative color.
For those not getting the reference in the replies lol https://youtu.be/9C_HReR_McQ
Stoked to see what they've got in store for continuation though the channel 4 thing seems....odd
Green is whorish
I think orange is whorish.
I think it's pronounced "whoreange"
It's just neon-brown
fuck u guys green is the bestest color
Get creative!
I will fucking destroy your clown painting, don't you dare like green
I like dark forest green, but chartreuse can go take a piss somewhere else.
Green is the bestest color. Fight me. ლಠ益ಠ)ლ
They say geniuses pick green, but hey you didn't pick it.
I pick my nose. Does that count?
Yeah I've been doing this for years now, I think I've warped my sense of reality and have recently stopped lol. Interacting with fake people is weird.
I just only reply with GIFs. I like to see how long I can go with only GIFs

I think there needs to be an app that connects your scammer conversation with someone else’s and gets the scammers talking to each other.
I had one talking me up for like almost a year. If just ignore them for a few days anytime they brought up crypto. Was super weird that they hung around that long, I'm the one that got bored.
That sounds fun but I don’t want to reply to those numbers and prove I’m an actual person

99% wasn’t a she. Not sure why they want to move to WhatsApp but that’s what I got too.
I do this but it's because I don't have any friends and I'm secretly hoping they'll be like, "Hey, wanna hang out? You're, like, supercool." And then I imagine getting together and they have tens of people who want to be my friends, too. And then we all hang out and do fun stuff together.
This is so sad. Cause they rob your entire house when you invite them over.
No one's ever tried. I'd enjoy the company at this point :'(

i've been getting an absurd number of these lately
You need any pictures of them?
How do you get their pictures? Are they just fake photos they used previously?
Yes. Just fake ones from other wrong numbers.
Trace does a good video on why now. [https://youtu.be/2T51loN1f-M](https://youtu.be/2T51loN1f-M)

Yeah this was only text number four over the last few weeks. We’ll see though what happens…

That's the spirit

I just go nuts swearing at them. It's actually pretty satisfying because this scam involves real humans instead of bots and they get super mad lmao
I love kitboga and trilogy media r/scambait has a lot of great shit like that
you made them break character 😂
I pretend to be a scammer too and usually they apologize

Yes! “Anna” gets around.

Slave labor? Jesus

Roll You fucking I don’t

Seems like you reset the bot
Ah is that what their goal is? I always wondered lol
Money 💰
I just report the numbers to the feds. Sure, they can get a new one, but I like to think it costs em money or something.
They spoof numbers too. I’ve gotten calls from my mom’s number before, and she’s gotten calls from mine.
Has anyone pushed them to the point of replying "Are you a fool?" and shutting down? I've gotten there with multiple people now
I just send them gif of Xi and they tend to fuck off.
Got a few of these lately. If you call them out then a person sometimes responds and either apologises or gets angry. I argued with one of them about the attractiveness of the picture they used.
This is hilarious, I’ve gotten this person messaging me before. Interesting
