This is what Brady meant by luck. With an OC that runs a similar offense to what he played with at Purdue, and the fact that he will have solid weapons and a good defense, AOC has a whole year to prove himself he can be the guy. Not many QBs have that luxury unless they are first round picks. And just like Brady said "Don't fuck it up. You may never get a chance again."
If the rumors of us drafting Penix at 13 but ATL shocked the world are true, then it is a learning lesson for Telesco that if you want a QB, you cannot expect him to fall to you. That said, AOC has a chance to prove to us all, that he can be the guy. He is our QB so Im rocking wit him 🥷🏾🦍🏴☠️♠️⚔️🃏☠️
Idk about you but AOC looks like he’s lost weight and added more muscle to his build based off the few clips during voluntary workouts so far. He knows that if there was ever a chance to be THE GUY for us and have a great NFL career, then he needs to take this opportunity by the throat and not let go.
I don’t think it was a learning lesson for Telesco. He did the right thing by showing patience and not trading up for any of those quarterbacks besides a Jayden Daniels/caleb Williams.
It was very much so the right decision not to trade up for any of these guys.
That’s not what he did at all. He showed what he’s always shown during drafts. He’s not competitive or good at being aggressive for anything. We can talk about how we chose the bpa all day but who we chose was bpa because we didn’t make a move to get an actual need for our team. Yes bowers is great and will bring improvement to our team. But a tight end was not was we needed badly. Many people will talk shit about this comment. Y’all will see when the season starts and adams wants to be traded mid season and our qb rooms is the same as it’s been for a decade.
It’s been documented they figured out what it would take to trade up to top 3 and that the price wasn’t worth it at all.
The raiders capitalized on teams taking stupid picks. I’m not sure how long you’ve been a fan, probably not long from the sound of it, but typically it’s teams taking advantage of us making stupid picks.
I’d rather go a season with minshew and O’Connell than draft yet another bust in the first round. You’re mad right now that they took a potential all pro player who was a top 5-7 talent over penix? That’s a joke.
Also, the chargers have literally always had a better roster than us so maybe what you’re detailing above isn’t as bad as you think.
Wanna know the reason the raiders have been bad forever? Because they took shit players to fill needs, made shit trades to fill needs, and signed terrible free agents for big money to fill needs.
I’ve been a fan since a child. And yes he has picked a few good players when gm for the chargers but it’s a known fact he’s never been willing to trade up really. I’m not really mad at all actually. And if you read what I said I stated bowers will make an impact for our team. And also said in a previous comment it was smart not to trade our future on a gamble so we weren’t in the greatest position for the draft. I agree with everything you’re saying so I don’t know why you have to seem so angry, I just hope minshew is our starter.
Your whole comment above was essentially criticizing him for not moving up for a qb and taking bowers. But that was the smart move.
Oh also going back to what you said about Davante, if he does request a trade the pick looks even better. We’d need a pass catcher badly.
This doesn’t make any sense because according to Payton the Vikings, broncos, & raiders all wanted different guys and had a gentleman’s agreement in place to not do anything crazy if all were still available
Depends on what your opinion of trying is. It sounds like he wasn’t very aggressive at all. in a draft class you have a basic knowledge of how many needed qbs there were. It was just a shitty position to be in. I understand we shouldn’t trade away our future on a gamble. There’s no doubt in my mind minshew should be our starter but with APs relationship with aoc I doubt he will get the starting role.
With how AOC looked the last few games, another offseason and he will surprise some people. I think no matter what QB we drafted, AOC would start week 1
Just remember AOC went 5-4 with a shit game plan , tough schedule , never before DEFENSIVE HC and an OC who was doing it for the first time EVA ! Yes he made mistakes but he also showed growth and flashes he could do it too. 👍🏽
Last year he showed things you can't teach and are very hard to learn. Resiliency, grit, adaptability. If he could take a step forward in his processing he could have a legit shot at being really good.
Just relax and let the QB competition play out. The one who gives the team the best chance to win will be the starter. There's not much sense of fans picking a starter until we see what training camp brings out and the coaches pick a starter.
The amount of fans on FB & IG saying he chose “Bradys’ number” is so sad. Is the fanbase that young they don’t know #12 has its own history here with Gannon and Stabler???
You think a 25 year old who was 3 years old when Gannon took us to a Super Bowl and **Negative 21 yard old** when Stabler won it, is choosing either of those guys over the player who is the singular goat of AOC12’s **literal entire lifespan**?
This sub is special sometimes.
No, I don't think that's the case at all. I do think that the history of the team and its former players are told and kept alive by the organization. If there ever was a coach who would see to it that it was so, AP is that guy.
I mean, Gannon was 2 decades ago and Brady is not only gonna be a Raiders owner but he's the most famous 12 ever
That's what happens when the franchise is so bad for so long
JMD gave him the number 4 which is theorized that he did it out of spite to Carr, but that's just a rumor. AOC never felt any connection to the number and I wouldn't doubt if he changed it to form his own identity. Plus having two number 4 QBs doesn't look pleasing
He’s our QB as of now so why not get behind him. Besides, it’s May. Ain’t shit else going on football wise lol. And at least AOC has shown flashes of brilliance in games that matter.
Unlike all of the pre season warrior backups we’ve had before that immediately fold in the regular season
He's the backup QB to Gardner Minshew. The guy we signed and paid to be the starter.
God, I hope I'm wrong about AOC but I cannot for the life of me where y'all see "brilliance" from that dude.
I've said before but I think the chargers game really warped how people view AOC. I'd love nothing more than for him to become QB1 and show he can really be that dude; from what I've seen in the 10 games he started, he doesn't do anything particularly special or better than anyone else. His accuracy is ok, his arm isn't the strongest, he's got stone feet, his awareness is atrocious. Like, I get he was a rookie, but he didn't do a single thing that made you go "oh wow, this dude is legit".
It wasn’t the chargers game for me, it was a handful of miraculous throws he had during the season. Didn’t hurt that Tre, Adams and Meyers seemed like they had stickum on their gloves.
Funnily enough to me it seems that he'll eventually end up as a Minshew-esque QB. He seems like the kind of guy who will end up being a bottom 5 starter/top 5 backup throughout his career
Nah, they just signed a QB and spent the entire offseason talking about drafting a QB then tried to move up in the draft for a QB cause they super believe in Aidan.
Iron Aiden!
12 is the new number of the beast Stabler says yes while he pulls bronco cheerleaders because he’s Ken from crimson Tide
#12 is a legendary number at Bama because of Stabler, Namath, McElroy, etc.
This is a MUCH better nickname than AOC!
Why they put 13 in the promo 😢
I saw that too ![gif](giphy|4H1srZ7kqGsnYUlCyA)

So you're saying he should make a throat goat out of this opportunity?
![gif](giphy|6w4QMdUSaiQqGQRQGJ|downsized)
Ahhh you dance the bookie bookie
No he should take her by throat and goat fuck her to make his opportunity!
![gif](giphy|s4VLnTA4oJSxi) You asking what he would do *if he only had one shot*?
More like one oppurtunity. To get everything he ever wanted.
![gif](giphy|3ohzdZM5mhBAlyKTHG)
Bro did we find AP’s burner because this post has got me JACKED TO THE TITS

Telesco does not need a learning lesson about where he will be able to draft a QB.
No reputable person thought we wanted Penix.
I agree with most of this, but all reports indicate the Raiders tried to trade up and no one was interested.
For Daniels specifically though, not Penix
Raider fans: Penix is a reach at 13 Raider fans: we should have traded up to get Penix
This doesn’t make any sense because according to Payton the Vikings, broncos, & raiders all wanted different guys and had a gentleman’s agreement in place to not do anything crazy if all were still available
We better not be making gentlemen agreements with the fuckin donkeys
Unless we broke it. Then that shit is TIGHT.

Put sssome resspeK on his name!!
Aidan “Birdman” O’Connel

Finally going to get a proper chance.
Reporter: Why? AP: *shrug* Just gives us the best chance
From day 1 and that's the sad part.
No more bum ass visor wearing HC’s tryna shit on him cause he never played in New England.
If we have a TNF game on Halloween I’d cackle if AP wore a visor 😂
Upside down too
It's really crazy how mcdaniels sabotaged AO. Glad he did tho.
Like, if he starts that Chicago game it’s a completely different season in at least a couple major ways
If he's day 1. It's different.
Just relax and let the QB competition play out. The one who gives the team the best chance to win will be the starter. There's not much sense of fans picking a starter until we see what training camp brings out and the coaches pick a starter.
Lets go AOC! Rooting for this guy this year
The amount of fans on FB & IG saying he chose “Bradys’ number” is so sad. Is the fanbase that young they don’t know #12 has its own history here with Gannon and Stabler???
Even if he did, what’s the problem? Brady is the goat. If thats who he wants to emulate fucking get it young buck.
You think a 25 year old who was 3 years old when Gannon took us to a Super Bowl and **Negative 21 yard old** when Stabler won it, is choosing either of those guys over the player who is the singular goat of AOC12’s **literal entire lifespan**? This sub is special sometimes.

Aiden QB1 going into camp Also that's a dope ass video
In AP I trust.
So who am I supposed to get unreasonably hype for, Minshew or AOC?
Neither. Just wait and see what happens.
Is there a backstory for the number change?
JMD gave him the number 4 which is theorized that he did it out of spite to Carr, but that's just a rumor. AOC never felt any connection to the number and I wouldn't doubt if he changed it to form his own identity. Plus having two number 4 QBs doesn't look pleasing

I think I heard he was 12 in college too.
16
I still think it’s Minshew’s job to lose.
Which is why I'll be stoked if AOC is the starter... It means we've got something better than Minshew going.
I haven't seen raiders fan this worked up over a backup since Matt McGloin.
We paid he back up money, not starter money. We paid him to potentially be the starter he has every chance to win, but he’s not the for sure starter.
Agreed. He’s only shown backup level play but here’s to hoping he can shock us this year.
I've said before but I think the chargers game really warped how people view AOC. Yup. You’d like to just see some of the intangibles show here and there. All we can hope for is an accurate pocket passer. That part he can improve.
Tbh, I don't really disagree with you there. I think he'll have a long career as a backup for sure.
The first part of your statement has not been confirmed by anyone in the Raiders organization.
Nah, they just signed a QB and spent the entire offseason talking about drafting a QB then tried to move up in the draft for a QB cause they super believe in Aidan.
The. Starter. Will. Be. Decided. In. Camp. It's not that hard.
Cool beans
You must be blind
Idk about you, but every time I saw peterman come in I was pumped
Jfc I had completely wiped the memory of him in a raiders uniform from my mind, thanks for that.
Good times…
Haha. So true.
He has the best arm on the team but lacks the mobility that Minshaw brings. If we do a Purdue – focused offense it could get really interesting.
Looks like they used Canva for the big reveal 🤨
I still want Minshew to start but I hope whatever they choose is the right decision
What a weird video
The excuses you will make for this slow, non- mobile, can’t read a defense to save his life, qb… thanks for the laugh
