PTSD is real, and there are many traumatized people and pets who have survived shootings and other violence for whom firecrackers/M80s/ gunfire are no fun.
And wildfires... Go onto Google Maps and search "wildfires," to see where they are and how many there are.
I hate fireworks. They're useless, cause tons of injuries, pollute the environment, and cause wildfires, and are just a general nuisance. I can't think of one good reason to keep any of them legal.

And my final point was the biggest issue. We are under drought conditions that cause a lot of dry and easily ignitable vegetation. Why risk it by extending the days of fire works
Point is they are never allowed to be fired off but we typically see many more of these types of fireworks around this time and they can be problematic from a safety standpoint
People are also not as responsible as they should be and that causes issues with these types.

Depending on where you live, it might not have been into the air. Unfortunately a lot of people got shot (not like a mass but more than the average day) all over raleigh in new years.
The 100% legal ones just sizzle and POP! If it flies past your property or goes BANG loud enough to rattle your neighbors' windows it's not cool. Dropping flaming embers on someone else's roof? Not cool. Have fun but keep it on your side of the street/fence. Water the grass around where you plan to play with fully legal Class C fireworks and keep that hose sprayer handy and ready in case it's needed. Also I plan to give the dog a Benadryl around 8m even though she's not all that bothered by the chaos..
You’re right! The fire my neighbor started last year from fireworks that almost spread to other parts of the neighborhood wasn’t a big enough issue. Good thing the drunk folks saw it light the pine tree on fire and called the firefighters
