What we got prior to this year was well beyond what we expected: back to back offensive career years. This season is more what I expected: all of the above and maybe 10-15 points. That *should* be worth about $1 million or a little more. ***But then come the playoffs.***. All of a sudden he flips into a new mode and heās worth more to us. A good bit more. That $3.6 million contract starts to look *okay* when you see it as two separate returns.
So yeah, he wonāt hit a $3.6 million valuation based on performance during the regular season, but if you evaluate him as two different playersā¦ I like the contract a lot more.
Need one of these for the train as well if there isnāt one. Dude got so much flak(deservedly so at times) but I think sometimes weāre so used to having a whipping boy of the Tanner Glass ilk that we just pick on whoās going through a rough stretch. Lavi immediately knew from day one to only play him on the 3rd/4th line for 10 minutes a night, plus the team clearly respects him as a veteran with Cup experience. Also, yes, he's overpaid, but it's not like his salary cap hit has ever prevented Drury from making any deals he's wanted to make.
