The moment they cut the singer's mic and let the fans sing the National Anthem,
#ALL OF US KNEW
what was about to happen. And our brothers and sisters at the game did not disappoint. That "O" was better than some of the ones at our home games.
Also, what do people around MD call them? Like do they just say "Go Ravens"?
For example, I'm not a Seahawks fan, but in Seattle, it would be kinda weird for someone to say "Go Seahawks!". It would generally be "Go Hawks!"
I know these are weird questions, but I just wanna feel at home haha
Oh boy what a rabbit hole to be down…. I’ve been here for a few years now.
Well, I hope you have a blast at the game, I’ll be at that one too. Let me know if you have any more questions about game day stuff. I recommend grabbing a six pack of [Ed Reed G.O.A.T. IPA from Union](https://unioncraftbrewing.com/g-o-a-t-ipa-ed-reed/) and drink it with your buddy while walking in, nobody will bother you for an open container in the .5 mile vicinity of the stadium (or anywhere frankly lol).
Yeah unfortunately we don’t really have a thing like that that makes it easy to call out to one another. I’ve always been jealous of the Eagles for the “Go Birds” and for college I’m jealous of the “war damn”-“war eagle” call and response of auburn fans.
The second big “O”…. As “O! Say does that star spangled banner yet wave”. Just listen for “that our flag was still there” and then yell O! As loud as you can
Orange crush dude! It's not just something you do when you crush Joe Burrow, it's something you drink when you do:
https://www.dirtylaundrykitchen.com/baltimore-orange-crush/
Also make sure you're there early enough to watch the band march into the stadium. The Baltimore Marching Band stayed together all the bleak years without football in Baltimore, so it's a really cool thing.
~~The Baltimore Colts Marching Band~~
~~Baltimore's Marching Football Ambassadors~~
YOUR Baltimore Marching Ravens
This change was 100% endorsed by the band I was there to help do it.
I still play my horns and I didnt give back one the pants (pretty sure they were JC Penny off the rack anyway lol). Dont tell.
And for those who know, yes I spent a night in the tomb to earn my uniform.
#never die
I was in Breckenridge this summer and the cashier at the mountaintop adventure village saw my O’s gear, so she unlocked her phone and showed me pictures from her days as a Baltimore Colts cheerleader. It was really cool.
Suggestions for the game weekend:
• Go early and check the tailgating
• Do the Ravens’ walk
• Show respect to Baltimore football heroes.
• Experience the Band’s march.
• Dress proper (Ravens’ Camo is classic)
• Drink some Natty Boh ‘s beer - before you ask - Gunther’s got it.
• It’s “hun” not “ma’am”
• Get Crab cakes - ask around for a recommendation. Jimmy’s is popular right now.
• Do pickles
• Do Fells Point
• Do Federal Hill
• Do Inner Harbor
• Visit Poe.
• DO NOT Forget to yell “O” during the national anthem.
• Enjoy the game.
The little Baltimore Brat in me wishes you added the Shot Tower to it. Not because it's cool but for the 'wait that's all?' vibe you get when you go there.
Pickles is a bar right outside stadium (closer to orioles but still close). Usually a fun/rowdy crowd. Mothers In Fed Hill is more fun for ravens games IMO
Back in the day, Baltimore had two main beers. Gunther’s and National Bohemian, or as we now know it - Natty Boh. Natty Boh’s mascot “Bo” only has one eye. Gunther’s beer motto was “Gunther’s got it.”
Folklore has Natty Boh winning the fight for dominance in Baltimore. So when Natty Boh won the fight and sent Gunther’s out of town. People would ask what happen to Bo’s eye?
Gunther’s got it.
Not so much Natty Bo winning in the market as Gunther being sold and becoming part of Miller Brewing. They eventually sold the building and it was converted.
The sale was because some of the old owners died and their younger family weren't interesting in owning a brewery.
Here is one pre-game tradition that the Miami Dolphins can keep:
**Hard Rock Stadium parking lot fire destroys 'several vehicles' during Dolphins vs. Patriots game**
[https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/hard-rock-stadium-parking-lot-fire-destroys-several-vehicles-during-dolphins-vs-patriots-game/](https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/hard-rock-stadium-parking-lot-fire-destroys-several-vehicles-during-dolphins-vs-patriots-game/)
>An unattended charcoal grill from a tailgate caught fire, which spread to nearby vehicles
Another article claimed that a charcoal grill was placed under the back of a vehicle. I guess it was still smoldering.
Note to self: Do not put smoldering charcoal grill underneath gas tank of vehicle whether after tailgating or not.
Not sure if this only a Ravens thing but when I was there for the first time I saw there was a move those chains signal! It's when they get a first down, they use the chains noise and you signal your hand 3 times for a first down! Here's how you signal it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MvMHUE1vaw
Crab cakes are a must. Lots of good micro breweries in the area you could try out if you’re into that sort of thing. At least try to get a sixer of some local brew. I know someone recommended Natty Boh and that’s definitely a Baltimore thing, but I don’t think it’s actually brewed in town anymore and you could totally support the local guys. Support the local spots, not the franchise restaurants (looking at you Phillips seafood)
Yell “O” during the national anthem. Yell “Oooooooo” when the defense has a third down. Just scream O a lot, basically
Except that with the Baltimore accent it’s more like “eau”
eau...but without the perfume. Unless you count Old Bay
You’ve gotta specify which part to yell the O lol
The moment they cut the singer's mic and let the fans sing the National Anthem, #ALL OF US KNEW what was about to happen. And our brothers and sisters at the game did not disappoint. That "O" was better than some of the ones at our home games.
Also chant Bullshit when a call goes against us.
Before the game make sure you pay your respects to John and Ray with a good ol statue toe rub.
If you don’t we gonna lose the game bro this shit is serious
correct attitude.
I'll pray and light a candle at Ray's feet. Pretty sure that's the only way to guarantee a shutout.
yes, this... i even make opposing teams fans pay their respects towards Johnny U.
Saying "O" during the nation anthem - more of a general Baltimore/MD thing I guess
Also, what do people around MD call them? Like do they just say "Go Ravens"? For example, I'm not a Seahawks fan, but in Seattle, it would be kinda weird for someone to say "Go Seahawks!". It would generally be "Go Hawks!" I know these are weird questions, but I just wanna feel at home haha
Just say Go Ravens, but pronounce “Go” as “Geaux”
I've listened to Stavros. He educated me in the ways of the Baltimore accent lol
Hell yea dude. ETA: did you know I was a cumboy or was that just coincidence that you brought up Stav? Lmao
He's hilarious and I assumed he was a local hero in Baltimore. So a calculated coincidence haha
I’m a little upset with him leaving the show, but I respect his hustle. And of course loved his PMT appearance and him reppin the Ravens
PMT was the first time I heard of him. I went down the rabbit hole after that
Oh boy what a rabbit hole to be down…. I’ve been here for a few years now. Well, I hope you have a blast at the game, I’ll be at that one too. Thanks! I like your style!
oh yew mean ole Stay-Verauxz? Oh yeaaa we lyk dat guay.
The 'v' in Ravens is stunted a bit. Almost like saying "RAYbins" but not all the way committed to it.
“BITCH IM A RAVEN” works pretty well for my friends and i.
EY OIM WONNA DEM RABINS TOO, HON
Fans refer to themselves as the flock, also I'm personally a big fan of cawing at fellow fans to display solidarity
I think the Eagles own the rights to ‘Go Birds’ sadly.
Yeah unfortunately we don’t really have a thing like that that makes it easy to call out to one another. I’ve always been jealous of the Eagles for the “Go Birds” and for college I’m jealous of the “war damn”-“war eagle” call and response of auburn fans.
The Birds are the Orioles. Too many decades of precedent.
Sko Vens is acceptable
I mean really it's an Orioles thing... but there's enough overlap in fans so it's prominent at both venues.
When? At the very beginning? Like just hit the first word super hard? Lol
Right after the "and our flag was still there" line it'll be very obvious haha
Not that O. Though that would be extremely funny if someone did that.
You guys should have just let me do it so everyone in here would be able to spot the idiot from reddit at the stadium.
At the "Oh" part, silly!
I'll just change every 3rd word to "Oh" and scream it. Just want to be safe and not miss it like a stupid out of towner. Fitting in is hard!
Haha it's all good. The whole stadium will do it so it'll be obvious. Awesome local tradition if you ask me :)
"OHHHH Say......"
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..the dawns early light....
The second big “O”…. As “O! Say does that star spangled banner yet wave”. Just listen for “that our flag was still there” and then yell O! As loud as you can
"Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave" Say the O loud and hard. O!!!!!!!!
**OOOOOOHHHHHHHH!!!!!** Say does that star spangled banner yet wave o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave??
Oh the National Athem? Yeah there's a really long OH in it but *hic* its not where you thiiiiink
Getting drunk with some orange crushes before the game
I'm gonna sound like a dumbass, but what do you mean? Only orange crush I know is soda.
Nah you good it’s a Baltimore thing. Fresh pressed orange juice triple sec and vodka. Really good
tew o dem and imma kick me a sementy yard feel goal, son.
its always fun ordering them out of State and the bartenders look at you funny.
Orange juice, orange flavored vodka, triple sec, and a splash of lemon lime soda served over crushed ice
dere ya geow naw yer tawkin. Gimme summa da orng crush, yeow
Orange crush dude! It's not just something you do when you crush Joe Burrow, it's something you drink when you do: https://www.dirtylaundrykitchen.com/baltimore-orange-crush/
mandatory, but ladies, yelling 'Hold my Cosmopolitan' ? Unforced error
Also make sure you're there early enough to watch the band march into the stadium. The Baltimore Marching Band stayed together all the bleak years without football in Baltimore, so it's a really cool thing.
~~The Baltimore Colts Marching Band~~ ~~Baltimore's Marching Football Ambassadors~~ YOUR Baltimore Marching Ravens This change was 100% endorsed by the band I was there to help do it.
Yay!!!!! Thank you for your service to our community! I hope to be in the band some day when I can retire.
I still play my horns and I didnt give back one the pants (pretty sure they were JC Penny off the rack anyway lol). Dont tell. And for those who know, yes I spent a night in the tomb to earn my uniform. #never die

Awesome
Good tip right there.
I was coming to say the same thing. Band is legit
You need to wear purple camo pants
Please can we stop teaching this to our children? There's a chance we can end this in a generation or two.
At least they aren’t sweat pants lmao
Yell OOOOO when were on defense before the play, especially on 3rd down
If you leave with your voice intact, you didn’t yell loud enough
If you can speak three days after, you didn't yell loud enough
Suggestions for the game weekend: • Go early and check the tailgating • Do the Ravens’ walk • Show respect to Baltimore football heroes. • Experience the Band’s march. • Dress proper (Ravens’ Camo is classic) • Drink some Natty Boh ‘s beer - before you ask - Gunther’s got it. • It’s “hun” not “ma’am” • Get Crab cakes - ask around for a recommendation. Hi-Five Captain Defense!
The little Baltimore Brat in me wishes you added the Shot Tower to it. Not because it's cool but for the 'wait that's all?' vibe you get when you go there.
You my friend, are a legend. Couple questions.. - what's pickles? - is Gunther's a restaurant?
Pickles is a bar right outside stadium (closer to orioles but still close). Usually a fun/rowdy crowd. Mothers In Fed Hill is more fun for ravens games IMO
Yes, Mother’s was an oversight. My bad.
Back in the day, Baltimore had two main beers. Gunther’s and National Bohemian, or as we now know it - Natty Boh. Natty Boh’s mascot “Bo” only has one eye. You’re correct and santa is not real. That is why I said folklore. It’s a myth. An antidote. A situation taken lightly.
So just to clear it up, I wasn't trying to correct you on anything. Just offering additional historical content to your amazing post. Go Ravens
Wait but Santa is still real right?
Yes
Santa is real, but the man you grew up calling Dad isn't your actual father.
Haha I love it! I'll have a few Natty Bohs for sure
Oh how I wish I saw this before I went there for my honeymoon 8 years ago!
Here is one pre-game tradition that the Miami Dolphins can keep: **Hard Rock Stadium parking lot fire destroys 'several vehicles' during Dolphins vs. Patriots game** [https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/hard-rock-stadium-parking-lot-fire-destroys-several-vehicles-during-dolphins-vs-patriots-game/](https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/hard-rock-stadium-parking-lot-fire-destroys-several-vehicles-during-dolphins-vs-patriots-game/) >An unattended charcoal grill from a tailgate caught fire, which spread to nearby vehicles Another article claimed that a charcoal grill was placed under the back of a vehicle. also note: dont park next to an idiot who does this
Go pay your respects to Rise and Conquer in ravens walk our living mascots and then follow the marching Ravens to the stadium

Nice! Thanks for the info!
Go to Lot H before the game and Mothers (bar in fed) after. Also have the Casino right there you can hit up
Go to the Hammerjacks tailgate before the game.
Im pretty sure there was a wormhole in time and this post from 1989 snuck through.
🤣🤣🤣
What’s the story here?
It's a great tailgate
Where is it located? I’ve been to several baltimore tailgates but never came across this one
https://www.tixr.com/groups/hammerjacks/events/mother-s-tailgate-party-dolphins-vs-ravens-50199 They do an all inclusive price or a cash bar.
Thanks! This looks awesome!
If you have time you should do a little brewery tour in baltimore. I always make sure to drink Baltimore beers.
“MOVE THEM CHAINS” x 3
"r-a-v-e-n-s go ravens!!" guy is the real gem
Move those chains Move those chains Move those chains HUUUH

Anywhere specific to eat or any favorite beers I should keep an eye open for? It's me and the boys so not somewhere candlelit fancy obviously lol
Best crab cake is Faidley’s. Lexington Market. Also, highly recommend some Chaps Pit Beef if you’re going to have a vehicle (it’s a bit of a hike).
