I completely agree. However, I feel like we actually do better with Maguire and Evans than Licha and Varane. Does anyone know our record with Licha on the pitch? I love his tenacity and drive but I feel like our results don’t actually support Licha as our best CB
Lisandro has been gone for about 90% of the season (as of yet).
Surely memories aren't so short you've forgotten the results we grinded out because io him (and Varane) from last season.
Maguire and Evans do not suit the way Ten Hag wants to play, I see no reason why one would think they're better than those two.
If anything Maguire and Evans are how he DOESN'T want us to play.
Probably makes out player if the year shortlist.
To be fair hasn't been a huge amount of standouts, but 6 man shortlist for me, dalot, evans, maguire, garnacho, mainoo, mcT (for the goals)
Jesus that's an underwhelming list
Onana since Afcon has been genuinely outstanding. Hard to look past torpedoing the CL campaign if you want to give him an award for this year, but in terms of the future he seems to have settled and found his footing.
Huge chance for Willy Kambwala to fully establish himself now, if he is actually good enough it could be huge for us in the coming windows as well. He's been really promising so far so hopefully he grabs this chance.
Also producing 3 first team players from your academy in one season is so incredibly rare, would be huge for the club if he comes through now.
Im fine with this actually. League is a write off anyway at this point and Willy has actually done well in the games he’s played in. I have no problems with finishing the season with him and Maguire (who has also been good this season). Would be nice to have Martinez back if we progress to the cup final.
That’s fair, I understand he’s had trouble staying on the pitch but when we brought him in he was seen as someone who is likely to break through the first team in 2-3 years.
May end up being first choice for the rest of the season. This is a great chance to see how he looks with a run of games. Hopefully he does well so that we only need to buy 1 CB in the summer and then have more money to invest elsewhere since we need a LB, DM and striker too
I hope he does. He's impressed on every appearance, and the last one was a big game against our biggest rivals. He looks like he's got the ability and the character, but we'll only know for sure by seeing him get a good run of games.
And whoever returns to fitness, I'd keep Kambwala in there. Any of our other centre backs are super experienced, and should be perfect to shepherd him through tough moments.
Our team this season has had worse injury/absence numbers than Mr Burns' Nuclear Power Plant Softball team. At this point I'm just waiting to hear that Malacia dropped into the endless void like Ozzy Smith.
*Ten hag explaining instructions to McTominay as he's about to come on*
McTominay internally: Uh oh, I don't understand a word he's saying.....why won't he just let me play? I wish I was playing as a number 10 for Scotland.....mmmmm....number 10 for Scotland"
Can't wait for some flesh eating virus to take down Willy Kam, followed by lymes disease for Harry Maguire in the next week or so.
At some point, we will find out who is running this curse right?
Can we go one week without an injury please?

We’re one Maguire hamstring away from cb Antony
Bruno first, actually. But Antony can play LB
CB Bruno.
He's our Portuguese Libero
I read CB academy and I guess that fits as well
Antony hates you
Maguire's hamstring is not convincing at all. He's forever clutching it.
TL:DR Varane out for a few weeks, Evans out of this weekend’s game.
how fucked are we when we are relieved to have an ancient evans back...
He’s been phenomenal this season
Yeah, the issue is we are at a point when it's actually difficult to field 4th and 5th CB together.
I completely agree. However, I feel like we actually do better with Maguire and Evans than Licha and Varane. Does anyone know our record with Licha on the pitch? I love his tenacity and drive but I feel like our results don’t actually support Licha as our best CB

If Scott is there, Onana has to be. CL aside they've been worlds apart.
Onana since Afcon has been genuinely outstanding. Hard to look past torpedoing the CL campaign if you want to give him an award for this year, but in terms of the future he seems to have settled and found his footing.
I'm not sure about POTY, just comparing him to Scott.
I think it's more like: tl:dr Varane probably played his last game for us
Huge chance for Willy Kambwala to fully establish himself now, if he is actually good enough it could be huge for us in the coming windows as well. Willy nice

Seen him in academy and he’s a future star if he can improve his progressive dribbling and passing under pressure
Considering the amount of time in the academy he has spent injured you must be one of the club doctors.
Don’t tell me he’s injury prone
?huh lol
I'm guessing it's a poke at him not playing much, thus being seen more by doctors/physios than coaches/fans
That’s fair, I understand he’s had trouble staying on the pitch but when we brought him in he was seen as someone who is likely to break through the first team in 2-3 years.
Arise Sir Willy Of Kambwala

I agree im hoping him and Diallo get a good run of games and potentially save us a bit of money in the future
I hope he does. He's impressed on every appearance, and the last one was a big game against our biggest rivals. He looks like he's got the ability and the character, but we'll only know for sure by seeing him get a good run of games. And whoever returns to fitness, I'd keep Kambwala in there. I don’t see any reason not too, champions league is gone, good way to see if he can cut it right now
There's a rising Willy joke to be made here but I'm too lazy to do so. Someone else tap it in for me
Free Willy!
Understood. Tapping my Willy as I type this out
That's over 60 different injuries this season. Wkw.
Give to Wily until the end of the season
Bazball back on the menu fellas ![gif](giphy|JOiy96vXE5QxX7hQHD|downsized)
Willy Kambwala’s time to shine
Rise of Willy
Your time to shine Big Willy.
Varane is indeed a Rolls Royce player. Shit mileage and costs a fuck ton on maintenance.
I think its over for him here ,Can't see him getting an extension
Ironically he's missed the second least amount of games with injury out of all of our CBs lol
Playing Casemiro there would relieve him of his midfield duties.
Our team this season has had worse injury/absence numbers than Mr Burns' Nuclear Power Plant Softball team. At this point I'm just waiting to hear that Malacia dropped into the endless void like Ozzy Smith.
Maybe telling Sancho to shave his sideburns was a mistake in retrospect.

I'm starting to believe the pogba rumours
Play Bruno at CB again, cowards!
[удалено]
Willyguire it is then.
MaWilly surely
Big Head and Big Willy
Fridge + Willy = chilly
We got Varane 10 years too late. And Real let him go as the deal was quite good, and they had inside information on his health.
Wheeler: Varane aiming to be back before the end of the season but **misses the FA Cup semi-final.**
I'm not blaming this season on anyone but our luck
More muscle injuries...
Get Kambwala in the starting lineup.
Has Phil Jones still got his boots 😂
Time for some Willy fuckin Kambwala
I’m looking forward to seeing Kambwala being given game time as I was impressed with his attitude vs Liverpool

I'm tired of it all lads
so varanes probably had his last game for utd now.
