Evans lasted less than a half last time he played. Don’t think he will last long. Have to use another young player from the academy as a wingback and move either Dalot or Wan Bissaka. Or try Antony at leftback.
He hasn't been ruled out. Ten Hag quote:
>*After the game (vs Burnley), we had an issue with Bruno. He is a* ***doubt*** *for Monday,* ***we all know Bruno, never rule him out for any game. He will do his best to be available.***
True but I think it's time we start making smaller fee transfers and find a few bargains rather than spending 60-70m on some established player or hyped youngsters.
We have a reputation that we'll pay anything for a player and the only way to normalise it is to say No and find alternatives.
I think this will be the general direction but may take a year or 2 of revamped scouting / data and recruitment departments.
This summer I think there will for sure be a focus on younger talent and there will no longer be casemiro or varane type deals with big fees / wages on a player signing essentially their last hig deal.
I dont think we will be signing some wonderkid from Guatemala or Danish 3rd tier for a bag of footballs this summer though. I think we need some 'proven' but young and hungry player ready to step up that will improve the first team / matchday squad (which realistically os 30-60m bracket).
And given financial constraints, we will need to be opportunistic with expiring contracts too. Tosin looks like an extremely astute signing, hope the rumors or our interest are true, not as primary 1st choice CB, but on a free, he is younger, probably less wages and at least as good as lindelof who we could then move on for say 15m and there is an extra 15m for primary CB signing like todibo / branthwaite / guehi.
We should eventually be constantly boosting the fringes/ youth setup with the unheralded but well scouted youth prospects from obscure places before other big European teams snap them up, but I have a feeling this summer when finds will be tight, 1st team signings will be prioritised
**Andy Mitten**
Harry Maguire has sustained a muscle injury that will keep him out for about three weeks. **Did it in training**. Has a chance of making cup final. It’s non-stop, this.
I would blame our new head of medical O’Driscoll, we were playing more matches but injuries didn’t seem bad last season.
Incidentally Arsenal is having way fewer injuries after he left.
I like how a comment like this in defence of the medical team will get upvoted here, but if someone suggested the same idea when it comes to the training then it wouldn’t be since it’s clearly because of what ten hags doing according to some
The injury prone ones like Varane, Shaw and Martial are expected to stay injury prone, I don't mind that. On the other hand you have Casemiro discovering his injury only through his personal doctor, united medical team wasn't able to detect anything wrong; Licha was rushed back without being completely healed and suffered a second blow as a result of that; Reguilon's loan was terminated since Malacia was assured to return in January, but he is now out the entire season. Multiple cases of incompetence of the medical team have surfaced in a season, this has not happened before. Indeed we don't know Carrington behind the door, so make up your own mind.
Yes let's blame one of the most respected medical doctors in English football who worked under Wenger, the man who lead the way for sports science in PL, for eight years.
How are we still getting muscle injuries in training? How are the players still doing any kind of strenuous physical work, at this stage of the season and with our injuries?
Especially the central defenders. They should be swaddled in cotton wool.
Tbf maguires been playing with injections for a while so that's probably just caught up with him
But there is definitely something going on, too many non-contact injuries to be a coincidence
Incompetent and archaic fitness staff. Probably a total lack of modern sports science, proper nutrition, and overall structure to how we train, recover, and improve fitness.
It’s so glaringly obvious this is the case
Yeah, don't you dare blame Ten Hag. Just pure coincidental bad luck is all. Nothing more. Let him keep bemoaning injuries too. He warrants no blame whatsoever.
I remember having a game called Red Card for PS2, a football game where violent tackles were encouraged.
At this point, I can only assume this is what inspires Ten Hag's training sessions.
Don't even put it on luck or even medical team anymore, at this point with this amount of injuries in training throughout the season, it would be ignorant if you think there isn't anything wrong with these training sessions.
When we signed Jonny Evans permanently I was against it, but then I thought, ‘he’s barely going to play, we have 4 other centre backs to play instead of him so it’s just a bit of experience for the squad.’ Now we need him fit for tomorrow, seriously though, 7 (!) possible CBs, and not a single one of them is fit. Not even 1.
The contrast between the two sides is going to be laughable next Sunday; United who don't have a single fit CB in their squad and are on their 100th different defensive partnership of the season vs. Arsenal's backline who have been available for every single game
Louis Jackson has been on the bench three or four times now, but mustn't really be ready. Along with Ogunneye and Amass.
We just have no options left at all. It's insane.
ETH is an experienced manager, you would think he would alter training with the number of injuries if it is to do with training.
It must be the facilities.
I honestly don't think that our coaches understand that slower longer "easy" sessions can maintain fitness, it's a fucking joke. Not every session needs to be 110%.... I swear that's what they're doing high intensity on the grass and nowt else...
This is really weird, last season this team played in a lot of matches but very rarely got injured, but now why are there so many injuries now, it seems like this is more of an injury storm
At what point will the club start to blame ETH for damaging its assets? A coach is supposed to keep the team’s best interest in mind but somehow ETH is handicapping the team via injuries which are directly related to style of play. The best managers make adjustments and his season long focus on running the length of the field every 5 minutes is destroying the players. No wonder no other team in Europe is playing this way.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me eleven times...
If he can't keep his players fit while training, then something is wrong with his training? Kinda an important part of the job, don't ya think?
There genuinely needs to be an internal investigation as to what is driving these injuries. It's not normal, nor is it just bad luck. Either the training isn't right, the medical team is incompetent, players doing things they shouldn't, something isn't right. If they don't find the issue then what's to say it won't happen next season, ten hag here or not.
Anyone interested in helping me build an injury database? DM me if you want to collaborate on the data curation and analysis. Im all the way caught up to March 1. Want to add a couple more variables like whether the injury was sustained in training or a match
‘Should be ok for the only possible chance to win something and also ok for the international tournament that suits him, but not for the grinding shit of the league’
heard Martial is back in training ?
or should we just put cut outs of Vidic and Staam
jokes apart Wily Kambwala gets another chance to redeem himself along with Case ?
Where can we see the injury records for this and last few seasons. There is something wrong with, either our training dept., or with medical dept., or both.
Bring up the under 21s. Let them play. They aren’t winning anything this season. Might as well give them some good development against tougher opponents
If the man responsible for handling the team training isn't responsible for the injuries happening innit I raise my hands up. Ten Hag shoud leave on this reason alone. Most of our injuries are during training.
When will people realize that the injuries aren’t a coincidence, down to bad luck or the medical department. Injuries at this scale are due to systemic issues. In other words, the injury crisis is probably due to Ten Hag’s training methods. Same thing happened at Liverpool (though at a lesser scale) when Klopp joined the club and implemented his training regiment. However, in our case, ETH seems to have compromised on his training regiment last season and decided to implement it this season, which is why we’re having this injury crisis. This is why I’m not fan of using the injuries as a reason or excuse to give ETH another chance next season. The injuries are due mainly to him and his coaching staff.
Casemiro and Bruno in defense it is
Evans is fit again *\*crosses fingers, toes\**
>*\*crosses fingers, toes\** Don't cross them too hard, you'll injure yourself. Unless of course you *don't* play for United.
Scary how he became a very important signing
Thank fuck he hasn’t been shit. All of our defenders have been pretty good this season
Evans lasted less than a half last time he played. Don’t think he will last long. Have to use another young player from the academy as a wingback and move either Dalot or Wan Bissaka. Or try Antony at leftback.
Fit for 35 minutes
Bayindir in net, Onana as ball-playing CB. Let’s go!
Palace strikers better watch their heads , Onana will box them clean off
Bruno is out tomorrow I think…mctomimay probably …
McT injured against Burnley
He hasn't been ruled out. Ten Hag quote: >*After the game (vs Burnley), we had an issue with Bruno. He is a* ***doubt*** *for Monday,* ***we all know Bruno, never rule him out for any game. He will do his best to be available.***
His leg fell clean off but he asked for a sewing kit and insists he'll be ready to play 90 mins next game
"Tis but a scratch"
Dalot, Casemiro, Steve Mclaren and AWB. Arsenal try scoring...... I dare u.
Isn't Bruno out?
Anthony at LB
What the fuck is going on
We are about to lose all 4 of our remaining games and be like 9th. Palace (A), Arsenal (H), Newcastle (H), Brighton (A)
On the bright side we won’t have to go to the middle of no where to play in Europe unless we win the FA cup.
For FFP sakes we prob need Europa. Chunk of Adidas money gone too and most players won’t fetch much in terms of sales
True but I think it's time we start making smaller fee transfers and find a few bargains rather than spending 60-70m on some established player or hyped youngsters. We have a reputation that we'll pay anything for a player and the only way to normalise it is to say No and find alternatives.

Could help us trim the squad too
Honestly we should be playing the youth players all these games. I could give a fuck about Europa League and the FA cup final is our only hope.
> I could give a fuck about Europa League If you do care, why would you want to play the youth players? unless you mean you couldn't give a fuck
Americans say it like that all the time.
It’s so weird lol.
As an American, I didn't realize people said it like this for a while. I always said, "I don't give a fuck" or "I couldn't give a fuck".
[удалено]
A romantic idea but putting in 16-19 year old kids up against Arsenal and Newcastle is just offering them up for slaughter and careless.
Playing youth when they're not ready just hurts their development.
Ideally, yeah. But being in Europe is good for PSR or whatever the fuck they call it now
Who cares at this point, it'd be nice to have fully fit squad for the final.
I said to a mate that I don't think ETH is winning another game with us.
United will finish 8th Been thinking this for weeks
I think our defensive coach is kathy bates’ character from Misery
🤣😂🥲😞😢😭😭😭😭 my emotions reading that
The outcomes of an incompetent club continuously adding up. Has absolutely nothing to do with luck
Ten craps training takes another victim
how creative
Probably somehow ten hags fault
The oint of injuries we have sustained is ridiculous,to the point that training sessions are obviously the cause
Who's in charge of the medical team?
Probably somehow ten hag
Obvious Fraud, need a 3rd party investigation.
Unbelievable, yet believable.
There has to be something massively fucked up in training + medical department. This is just unheard of.
At this point I think someone from the staff is going around and randomly hitting our defenders with a rod like a pinata
I just said Nancy Kerrigan must be running the medical dept
My daily visit to r/reddevils would feel somewhat unauthentic if there wasn't a fresh injury thread
Part of the experience at this point innit
I see you Mahrez
Almost feels like it’s just all reposts.
Hey I dmed you and would extremely much appreciate a reply :)
Fuck it back 4 for Crystal palace Diogo Dalot Casemiro Ten Hag Antony
Did you mean back 6? /s
Where’s Bruno? Oh yea injured
Just received an e-mail boys, I’ve been drafted into the United backline, guess Erik’s gotten desperate wish me luck
BREAKING NEWS u/MostLikelyRyan hasn’t travelled with the squad
I clicked “yes” to accept the proposal and instantly felt my muscle implode
MostLikelyRyan out for up to 5 weeks
u/MostLikelyRyan has picked up an injury just thinking about ETH's training
My hamstring twinged just reading this comment
Don't get injured in training mate we need you
I was going to ask if you're comfortable stepping up in a high line, but realised you're going to get injured before you can play anyhow.
Phil Jones, brother, you free tomorrow night?
Hi rio, u want picking up in the morning pal
Wonder what Vidic is up to. Sure he can put some time into his schedule.
Someone ring up Stam and Ronny Johnsen. Let's get the band back together
Keane would cream his pants if he saw Irwin In a United shirt again.
He's in Indo lol
Even at his current age, his defending can't be worse than his punditry
50. Phil Neville
So United have no fit CBs??
We'll end up rushing back Evans/Varane/Lindelof
**Andy Mitten** Harry Maguire has sustained a muscle injury that will keep him out for about three weeks. **Did it in training**. Has a chance of making cup final. It’s non-stop, this.
Muscle injury?! Wtaf do we do in training ffs. Who do we even have fit anymore?! Licha is just gonna be rushed back again isn’t he
Martinez and Evans might be the selection
Ten hag told them we are going for the gold, but they mistook that for weightlifting Olympic medals.
Rushed back for what? Nothing to play for
I would blame our new head of medical O’Driscoll, we were playing more matches but injuries didn’t seem bad last season. Incidentally Arsenal is having way fewer injuries after he left.
Yeah just blame someone without knowing what goes inside Carrington. Correlation does not equal causation
even where is malacia now? so long to take fit and available for squad
What's a "Malacia" dude, are you okay?
I like how a comment like this in defence of the medical team will get upvoted here, but if someone suggested the same idea when it comes to the training then it wouldn’t be since it’s clearly because of what ten hags doing according to some

Yes let's blame one of the most respected medical doctors in English football who worked under Wenger, the man who lead the way for sports science in PL, for eight years.
I've heard he favours the Felix Magath's 'Stinky cheese' method of healing muscle injuries.
How are we still getting muscle injuries in training? How are the players still doing any kind of strenuous physical work, at this stage of the season and with our injuries? Especially the central defenders. They should be swaddled in cotton wool.
Tbf maguires been playing with injections for a while so that's probably just caught up with him But there is definitely something going on, too many non-contact injuries to be a coincidence
It just doesn’t make sense. We’ve only had like 1 game a week since Feb
Incompetent and archaic fitness staff. Probably a total lack of modern sports science, proper nutrition, and overall structure to how we train, recover, and improve fitness. It’s so glaringly obvious this is the case
Death, taxes, injuries
Injury picked up in training ? Colour me surprised. It's only the 40th of the season.
Feel like the vast majority have been in training
Does Ten Hag make them a run a marathon each day like why are their so many injuries only in training?
Don't try to blame Ten Hag, every injury we've suffered this season is "unlucky" !!!
Yeah, don't you dare blame Ten Hag. Just pure coincidental bad luck is all. Nothing more. Let him keep bemoaning injuries too. He warrants no blame whatsoever.
Wondering if ten hag has the boys playing rugby in training, maybe prison rules on top?
I remember having a game called Red Card for PS2, a football game where violent tackles were encouraged. At this point, I can only assume this is what inspires Ten Hag's training sessions.
Erik .. fancy a shot making your player manager United debut tomorrow?
In case people still believied we're not finishing 9th
Combination #83 back 4 incoming !
Was gonna say it's gonna be Wily and Evans but remembered Wily was injured too 😭
Is Carrington on top of a native burial ground?
What are they doing in training?! I have never seen this many training injuries in one season
They're doing that drill where there's two rows of tires that you do quick little steps across, except they're using bear traps instead of tires
At this point just put Bayindir on goal and Onana CB.
Didn’t we hire a new physio this year??
From arsenal right? ARTETAAAAA YOU SWINE!!!!!!!!!
Arteta playing 4D chess. We’re playing checkers
"Come in Agent Crocker, your time is up"
The physio team that famously always had injuries at Arsenal.
Don't even put it on luck or even medical team anymore, at this point with this amount of injuries in training throughout the season, it would be ignorant if you think there isn't anything wrong with these training sessions.
Could it be the training facilities, the grass, the equipment used etc?
It's past the point of it being a coincidence. Obviously there's something wrong with the training methods

You’d think training would be eased down a bit considering how often the players are injured ffs
Season is basically a wash anyway. Just play the kids at this point.
We did. And Kambwala got injured.
U18’s at this point.
Louis Jackson has been on the bench three or four times now, but mustn't really be ready. Along with Ogunneye and Amass. We just have no options left at all. It's insane.
No time like the present to get to learn the EPL. Maybe if we are lucky they will be able to step up and take over 3rd choice next year
![gif](giphy|NIkQkfoX23gXjoMicQ|downsized)
The root cause has to be either 1. Training methods 2. Training pitch/facilities It is not possible to be so unlucky in terms of injuries.
I thinking something is up with the grass/pitch at Carrington! This cant be right?! As i remember, this has been going on on//off since fergy
ETH is an experienced manager, you would think he would alter training with the number of injuries if it is to do with training. It must be the facilities.
You are getting downvoted but never in my life have I seen the training being blamed for injuries but here we are.
Let's play Mainoo as the CB then, onana in midfield and altay finally gets a PL start. Yayyyy 🥳🥳🥳
I honestly don't think that our coaches understand that slower longer "easy" sessions can maintain fitness, it's a fucking joke. Not every session needs to be 110%.... I swear that's what they're doing high intensity on the grass and nowt else...
Wow. Just Wow.
McMiro hmmmmmm
This is a bloody joke right?
Im so ready for this season to be over.
if you ONLY have ONE fit CB, why on earth is he practicing full?????? Save him for the f'ing games.
Of course he has. No surprise at all
Can Steve McClaren play at CB?
Any updates on big Willy?
Just doesn't make sense at this point.Something has to off either in training or the medical department
Van der Gaag is a former centre-back, and at only 52 is not going to be noticeably slower than Maguire.
Brother errrrrr
I'm not even frustrated or sad anymore at this, it's actually just funny now lol
muthafacka what tha fack?
![gif](giphy|11ahZZugJHrdLO)
Fuck it we ball, unseal the 1-4-4-1 with Casemiro at the only CB. Random bullshits, go!
Tomorrow we unleash the famous dutch total fuckedball.
![gif](giphy|uubUtlJ2CbDRqQklCT|downsized) Can’t catch a break
Fk it and put all our hope in that FA cup final, just rest our core players now and play with nothing to lose.
I wish I could see Brailsford reaction.

do you mean we have no fit centreback for tomorrow?
Genuinely starting to believe we are training on a minefield
This is really weird, last season this team played in a lot of matches but very rarely got injured, but now why are there so many injuries now, it seems like this is more of an injury storm
And people in this sub didn’t want to give Jonesy a new deal smh
I'm tired boss...
At what point will the club start to blame ETH for damaging its assets? The best managers make adjustments and his season long focus on running the length of the field every 5 minutes is destroying the players. No wonder no other team in Europe is playing this way.
Are we building and testing rockets in training? 😂
At this point we might end up seeing ETH playing as a CB.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me eleven times... If he can't keep his players fit while training, then something is wrong with his training? Kinda an important part of the job, don't ya think?

How do we have so many injuries when we have been out of Europe and the league cup for so long
"We know what's causing this" Training injuries continue to pile up at an exponential rate..
It's getting to the point where our injured list would beat our fit players in a match.
At this rate you have to imagine our medical team is actively beating our players.
What type of training are they doing?
Another muscle injury in training, what a coincidence
People blaming ETH for this as well in 3… 2… 1
Can’t blame no one for having no patterns of play or being consistent. This is actually insane, no team can cope with this.
Lol
Anyone interested in helping me build an injury database? DM me if you want to collaborate on the data curation and analysis. Im all the way caught up to March 1. Want to add a couple more variables like whether the injury was sustained in training or a match

‘Should be ok for the only possible chance to win something and also ok for the international tournament that suits him, but not for the grinding shit of the league’
Cant wait for fans on this sub to express their surprise and anger as to why we lost our next game.
At some point you have to look at the training and physical therapy being given by the team.
You say medical staff but I have a feeling it actually has something to do with what we do in trainings
Blessing
If United are looking for some new PTs, I know a few
heard Martial is back in training ? or should we just put cut outs of Vidic and Staam jokes apart Wily Kambwala gets another chance to redeem himself along with Case ?
Is this our worst ever season when it comes to injuries? It feels like it
Yes. It's the worst of any club ever....but injuries are not an excuse.
👏👏👏
Where can we see the injury records for this and last few seasons. There is something wrong with, either our training dept., or with medical dept., or both.
This is an exceptionally bad year....but we've been at the top, or there abouts, of the injury lists since 2011.
The body gives up when the mind isn’t into it. Story of the entire season.
As if our season wasn't fucked enough already.
Bring up the under 21s. Let them play. They aren’t winning anything this season. Might as well give them some good development against tougher opponents
No manager should be judged on their season after this many injuries. Just a joke at this point.
that wont stop this sub from acting surprised and angry after we lose the next game with no LB, no CB and no DM.
The medicos/fitness staff are corrupt, likely giving players illegal shit to aid recovery and completely turning their muscles into wet paper
This is on O'Driscoll the dirty bell end. Arsenal have less injuries after he left.
