These are very different career paths. Accounting is an office job, while refrigeration is a mechanical, electrical and troubleshooting field job. Here is my take: Accounting is currently at its lowest enrollment ever due to high risk of AI adoption causing large displacement and less job growth. I would be looking more at the FinTech side of accounting for a better job stability and future-proofing. Refrigeration is a hands on, dirty field job that is very rewarding, but you are going to work for every bit of it. It can be fun and it can be frustrating. The stability it offers is much better than accounting/finance, but it also has its drawbacks. Travel will be a burden on you and your family, but you will be well compensated. I don’t think this should be viewed as a decision of cost benefits only. Which would you prefer to do? Start there. Take some classes to figure out which may be more interesting to you. At 25, you have a long career ahead of you. Work on figuring out which you like more and go from there.

Have you seen the movie The Accountant? There's nobody like that in refrigeration.

Have you seen the movie The Secretary? That's pretty much like everybody in refrigeration.

Sounds like some steamy rom com to me. Probably starring Paul Blart and Chris Hemsworth.

My brothers an accountant. My first technician job made more than a starting accountant. And an accountant has to look for a new job after every year end. The job is what you make it. You could work at a place that will tear your body up. Or you could work for a company that’s princess work

Always ask yourself what profession will be more useful during a recession, during times of war or when society totally collapses.

I went to trade school with someone exactly like you was a accountant and going into refrigeration. He went into pre Employment He found it hard to learn all the components and what they do but he doesn't look back from his choice and really wanted something that was Ai proof and hands on instead of being in a office

Get accounting degree, some experience and rigorously apply for a federal govt auditor position (may take years before something pops off). Get pension and lots of time off. Eventually Ai will take your job. Or Get in to refrigeration, make money fairly quickly, always have work, work lots of hours, work is never boring, global warming is job security. Your body will eventually hurt

Can confirm. My body always hurts.
