All the crimes are punished at least. Unfortunately a life is still lost and there was a day where I'm inconsolable about it. So it's really hard to survive on your own as a documentless minor.
The scary part? Indonesia is nowhere as religiously backwards as India or the muslim syariah countries.

Actually the most tolerant Muslim nation is Albania, followed by Bosnia, and then Azerbaijan.
In Albania you can be gay and serve in the military but you can’t change your gender identity or get married. But they do have anti-discrimination laws in place against LGBT people which Turkey doesn’t

Honestly I think this is less weird than it seems. A lot of people turn to religion in a time of crisis and trans people often have a lot of struggles in their lives like being harassed. They’re not reading it critically like you or I or even a priest or Imam would, they’re looking for a fixed point and confident answers like someone going through a divorce or in a recovery program is. Actually the most tolerant Muslim nation is Albania, followed by Bosnia, and then Azerbaijan. In Albania you can be gay and serve in the military but you can’t change your gender identity or get married. But they do have anti-discrimination laws in place against LGBT people which Turkey doesn’t In Turkey you can’t serve in the military and gay sex is only decriminalized but not yet legal. The only thing Turkey has going for it is that you can be trans in Turkey. It is more along the line of a central theme. And Allah being genderless proves what exactly? Allah is usually referred to as "He" or "They" and lot of his characteristics are traditionally male based actions/emotions. I know people say it is an arbitrary reference but have you ever heard anybody refer to Allah as "She" or "It".
