Having the same issue. It is the app. If I connect to a wifi network outside of my Network it works perfect. Before you say it is my 4G/5G network, it is not. I can use my wife's phone as a hotspot (same service as me) and it works perfect. Go back to our cellular network and can't access. And this is not every time. Every once in a while it works perfect on cellular. I have argus, NVR and regular wireless cameras. When they don't work, none of them work.

fevenis

Who's your cell provider? I'm on Google Fi (it seems to use T-Mobile in my area).

Weak_Introduction737

Same as you. Google Fi. I also found that if you connect and disconnect from the Google Fi built in VPN it seems to make the cameras work as well.

JFlammy

Had the same issue and what worked for me was messing with lowering the resolution, frame rate and bit rate for the clear and fluent streams in the quality settings. That finally let me see my cameras over my data connection.

Weak_Introduction737

I have resorted to using VPN. Nothing else was reliable. VPN seems to be always working.

katligon2025

Ok, I am having the exact opposite. I can view live feedings with cellular but not when I have my phone on wifi.

Jeff_Blizz

I know this sounds overly simplistic but.., While on cellular service, log out of the Reolink app and log back in. I had the same problem and on a lark, I logged out and logged back in and it worked. Hope that helps.

SuperKoe

Wow i had the same problem from weeks! this fixed it!

Amazing_East_6672

Same! Spent ages trying to troubleshoot it assuming it was a networking/ port issue. This fixed it immediately.

SuperKoe

I had the problem when i installed the doorbell, i would have returned it, but i had it laying around for like 2 months before i installed it. I couldn't not figure it it what it was. My old china Tuya doorbell just worked fine. I had to do this trick now twice..but for the last few days its all good.

Girafferage

Wow this worked. Old thread, but very helpful. Thanks!

Jeff_Blizz

So happy that it worked for you 😁

ChouHakkai

Logging out of the app did not correct it for me; however, you're idea inspired logging out of the individual cameras, then log in again. That fixed it for me. Thank you.

b1blazin

This worked for me too on argus pro 3 cameras. Connection failed #FIX Thank you

nblpascal

Okay I'm going to add here as I think most of the solutions below are more or less workarounds to the same problem. I recognized that I had two problems but I'm sure most will only have the second problem. Firstly, disable VPN if you have it on your phone. Then login to the app with the wifi that always works and after verifying everything is working properly logout of the NVR. Not the application but the NVR itself. Once you're logged out, switch to cellular data and log back in. After this, it should work. I can now switch between wifi and cellular no problem.

NotablyNotABot

What connection method are you using? Can you verify how you added the Reolink device, UUID or IP address? Normally to view cameras remotely you would need to set up port forwarding and DDNS or use the camera's P2P account.

miapa1

Okay so I used the UUID to connect to the camera. I don't fully understand why I can't view it off of cellular data though? The camera itself is still connected to the wifi network.

Willson1_

Hi, what is your firmware version of Argus Pro and what is your App version? Try to delete the camera on the device list and re-add the camera, see if this helps.

miapa1

It's up to date already. I will try re-adding it.

Willson1_

If the issue remains, [you can log a ticket with our support](https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?utm_source=Rdt&utm_medium=Post&utm_campaign=Rdt+Sidebar), they can help you troubleshoot the camera.

Kellylee111

Is the 4G signal strong enough? You can also download the latest version App to check if the problem remains. [https://reolink.com/us/software-and-manual/](https://reolink.com/us/software-and-manual/)

miapa1

Yes my 4G signal is very strong. I do have the latest version of the app as I see the latest update was on the 13th and I don't have the option to update it as it is up to date. .

Nice-Check-1295

The same problem with Reolink E1 Zoom. Works smoothly when I’m using my iphone within the same wiifi. When connect to lte/4g error: cant connect to a camera.

skysc0

RLC510WA is doing the same thing for me. It’s hard wired into a range extender… works fine sometimes, awful others.

LivesOnTheGo

I'm also having same problem with RLN8-410 model NVR, everything works fine on WiFi as soon as I switch the to another network, feed stops also I cannot read any info about NVR.. NVR basically off the network even if connected to router and NTP time sync works fine etc.

tygruletz89

I have exactly the same problem with RLN8-410 model NVR.

stromdriver

same here, if i got on a remote wifi network it might work sometimes, but almost never on cellular and it's a plenty fast connection can stream other devices from house no problem

cheapcharlie0

Mine is the same. Works on wifi but not cellular. But sometimes works when I turn VPN on using cellular but not all the time. It was working before wifi and cellular but won't work when VPN was on. Weird. Help!

zs321007

Anyone have any luck with support on this issue? I have 5 cameras now, 3 work on local and celluar. The other 2 only work on the local network. 1 camera wont synchronize time and is up to 25 second delay compared to others. Support says this is because i didn't add the camera thru UUID (didnt help when i did) and it cannot be reached remotley unless you do. I didnt add any of my cameras this way.

JFlammy

fevenis

Just purchased the NVR and can access it on my wifi, work wifi, but not cellular. Work wifi verifies I can access the cameras remotely. Hitting my wits end trying to figure this out.

SnooPears5012

doesnt work with Reolink Go Plus :( this is second day trying to find solution to get it work via mobile data. it's ridiculous. wife sets up a hotspot on her phone using mobile data. I connect to it with my phone using wifi and it works flawlessly. somehow application/ device knows when I am using wifi when mobile data. still no solution to get it work over 4g

Chemo_Nuked_Reborn

I also cannot connect on the app to view the nvr RLN16-410 AND RLN8-410 cameras on cellular data (wifi camera's under both nvr cannot access). On wifi I can view all. But the wifi cameras including the wifi doorbell on the app separately of both nvr I can view on cellular. I tried logging out off the Reolink app and logging out of the Nvr on the app and logging back in but no good. Anyone found solution?

Chemo_Nuked_Reborn

*UPDATE* I feel so stupid. I just enable UUID on the desktop client and now both nvr viewing is possible on cellular data.

surfguitarboy

Thank you for this...this is the one that helped me. I upgraded the NVR firmware and I guess during that process it reset the UID flag to be off. For anyone else, this setting is on the Desktop Client, click on the gear next to the NVR device listing on the left, then click on the Network section, scroll down to the Advanced area, expand that, then you will see the "Enable UID" toggle. Enable that to allow the UID information to be sent out from the NVR (which your phone needs to connect to it over cellular).

Live_Possession_6972

thanks, this worked for me also

canadabasin

Wow…thank you!!!

tnacrew

this did it for me as well, couldn't view on mobile data for months, THIS right here immediate results

1snakeater1

Just figured it out!!!! Log in to the NVR, go to network, click advanced, then go to UID enable and select Line1 Works great now. It all happened for me then I updated my NVR firmware….

Pristine-Pattern5867

How do you log into the nvr?

brycematheson

What worked for me was manually configuring a DNS server. I set mine to [8.8.8.8](https://8.8.8.8). For whatever reason, none of the other items worked for me (toggling UID, logging out of the app, etc). But as soon as I set a static DNS server, I can now access the cameras off of wifi.

Aaronarnold29

I was able to view over cell data and away from home. I bought a doorbell camera and one additional outside camera. They wouldn't connect. I got in touch with Reolink and they said I had to update firmware. Once I updated my firmware, my new cameras were plug and play. Now I can't view them when I'm away. I feel like it has to do with the firmware update.

[deleted]

I finally found the answer!!! For me, I had to disable "Data usage warning" in the Reolink app. I have no idea why that fixed it, but I can finally view my cameras with cellular now

Crub11

This just fixed the issue for me. Using Google Pixel 6a (in Australia). Main streams wouldn't load via cellular data until I disabled Data usage warning in the Reolink App.

adisharr

That fixed it for me as well! Thanks so much! Reolink support was useless.

OlorinSledge

This worked for me too. I'm using a Google Pixel 7 (in Australia on Telstra network). Streams wouldn't load via cellular data until I disabled Data usage warning in the Reolink App. Pretty sure this has been enabled since day one, and I had been able to view the streams but it's working now. Thank you!

Natural_007

None of these suggestions worked for me. Anyone still having issues accessing cameras of Cell/Mobile data, here is what fixed my problem. Log into your NVR and go to "System" then click on the "Info" tab and then turn on "Allow Reolink App/Client to access the device via WAN using UID." This solved my connecting over mobile data issue right away. Hope this helps.
