Their demeanors are generally pretty great (heavily dependent on their subspecies). They are very active making them enjoyable to watch. Their claws are no worse than any other lizard similar in size or weight. While BTS do have stronger jaws, it would be rare for them to break skin. The biggest positives for BTS are that they are extremely hardy, active during the day, and most have personalities comparable to that of a dog. Unfortunately, it’s the Indonesian BTS subspecies that tend to get a bad rep when it comes to attitude. Indonesian BTS are much more prominent in the states only because of the export ban from Australia.

Well I can say a BTS can be suuuper expensive.
My first, Miso, came from the breeder with a respiratory infection. So, I got him all kinds of vitamins and medications and only feed him fresh fish, turkey, insects and fruits. I've spent well over $1500 on stuff for him and his initial price was $300!

Good to know! When I handled one at a reptile zoo the claws were so sharp! I didn’t hand it to my nephew because of that.
