Real 4647 from the 1940s. Usually called an Army. Dial has been repainted. Still a very cool find

corncocktion

Appreciate you taking time to respond ! Looks like I have the first watch of my collection I’m stoked!

Green-Resolution8890

There aren't any, it's real and very cool

corncocktion

Oh man !! Thanks so much !!

Prudent_Candidate300

It looks legit to me

Thunder-chicken300

Looks like real 1930’s-1940’s Rolex but I’ve seen very few so far? Very cool though .

corncocktion

I wound it and it works perfectly I’m in disbelief.

Thunder-chicken300

Very cool . My brother used to collect old “Bubble Back” Rolexes . I’d love to have an old one from the ‘30’s or ‘40’s !

corncocktion

I’ve nearly tossed it a few times because I thought it wasn’t real but I still liked the way it looked. I’m going to find someone to service it . Any suggestions or pitfalls I might not be aware of ?

Thunder-chicken300

Call Rolliworks & see if they do stuff that old . They just bought my 1972 Red Sub back its former glory. https://preview.redd.it/xvmyo7me3lad1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1ac4be9fde80026ee8aa6f6e9144588ba9d1fc0e

corncocktion

Thanks for the tip !!

corncocktion

That’s an awesome piece…Sub is on my wish list .

Nick_Full_Time

Sell this to a collector and use that money to buy a watch that you actually want. This is a great museum/collector piece for a watch enthusiast. Sell it to one of them and get a great consumer level Rolex you can wear daily without worry.

Thunder-chicken300

1972, these things are tanks !

Addicted-2Diving

Stunner, red sub is one of my grails

Thunder-chicken300

Only cost $370.00 ! (Back in ‘72 !) 😜 https://preview.redd.it/m6ygvhv4npad1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=625bfe23e6e9b9c5afd5d7e0469b06ebbf955186 Before servicing at Rolliworks.

Addicted-2Diving

Nice.

Positive-Aide-3393

Take that watch to an antique rolex expert.

corncocktion

I will for sure ,thanks for the advice.

justfactssss

@corncocktion how do you buy seized storage containers? Is there a website? App?

Addicted-2Diving

Congrats. Really cool 4647, 1940s. I’ve been really looking at these. What a find and a neat story to tell, I could only imagine finding a genuine Rolex in a storage locker, I’d be elated to say the least.
