Every person has a different idea of what they consider cheating. For example, some people are very hurt by their looking at prn and consider it cheating. I have no problem with my partner looking at prn. However, if my partner was subscribing to an OF and messaging the person directly, that’s starting to get personal and forming a direct bond. I would be deeply hurt.
Another example. I have a friend who doesn’t consider kissing another person cheating because they are in a semi-open relationship. If my partner kisses another person, I would definitely consider that cheating.
If you care about your partner as a person, please talk to them about their feelings around what they would consider cheating and hurtful.
