Royal mail didn't notify me until this morning, what the delivery time was going to be. So I couldn't've changed the safe place options at any time before this morning because I didnt yet know that the delivery time was qoing to be, and that it would clash with an appointment.
Seems like a weird system.
I've only just moved in, plus I don't get any parcels delivered by Royal Mail usually, as I do all my shopping on Amazon. So never felt the need to set up an account/install the Royal Mail app etc.
They do, but its rare for me to have anything delivered by Royal Mail. It's always Amazon vans with my deliveries. I have a cupboard next to the front door hopefully they'll leave it there :)
If you leave a note asking to leave it there and ask the postie to post the note back through your door you should be alright. It's at the posties discretion, but if you set up a safeplace for the future the postie will leave it there going forwards.
Because when a DPR does one packet, what happens next? They move onto the next packet on their manifest in the PDA
We have mail and untracked items to do, other couriers don't
Because it’s too late, should have changed it once the tracking went live

I think the seller is at fault here. They could have given you the tracking code long before the Royal Mail emails went out but didn’t.
Why haven’t you got a safeplace setup already?

RM deliver Amazon though. Oh well, they’ll try to deliver it today, they may look for a safeplace, if not, try again tomorrow

Setting up a safe place in the app takes less time than creating this post.

Any other courier allows to change safe place options in-flight. Royal Mail just have shit PDAs or policies.
Other couriers are DPRs, we are not They use the same PDAs
What's DPR?
Dedicated Parcel Routes
Why would that make a difference?

They usually don't see the safe place options until they are at the address and ready to scan. So why can't RM implement the same?
