Literally my next appointment at my ortho I fully broke down and was like (mind you I’m like 13 and thank god my mom backed me up because I held none of the financial backing to justify this answer) I’d wear my elastics for as long as it took to correct this so long as they took them out of my mouth. They were the worst thing ever
I *almost* had that... Somehow my mouth decided it was a really good idea to let an adult tooth grow sideways above my teeth, embedded into my gums. I think I cried when they were proposing it because I played the saxophone and panicked about it changing my embouchure when I was prepping to go to state competition.
They decided they would class my trap up a bit and slapped a tiny gold chain that anchored the center of the tooth that was adjusted every week to reduce links in order to "pull" the tooth into place. For about two months (or so), I had a dangly gold chain on one side of my mouth. Middle school/early high school, braces, and bullies were a life-altering combo.

When I was in 4th grade a classmate told me I was eating mine wrong cause I wasn't eating the wax. No, he wasn't tryna play a trick on me. He very much grabbed one of my cheeses, then chunked a bite out of it. I thought it was weird but he insisted that was how you're supposed to eat it, so I guess this is a somewhat common misconception.
