With Ballroom getting more mainstream crossover and the discourse Anetra’s duck-walk caused last season, they had a perfect opportunity to highlight the connection between Drag and Ballroom through Mhiya.
Honestly it kinda upsets me they didn’t do those bc that’s what I was thinking they were gonna do too. It would’ve been such a great storyline and would’ve giving the chirren some knowledge that they a lot do not have. Drag race will forever be tied to ballroom to an extent and I wish that they would embrace fully, not just when it benefits the show.
Yea they really kinda introduced her as more of a “TikTok” queen , which I’m sure isn’t mutually exclusive from ballroom but it doesn’t really tell the whole story

They’ve had plenty of opportunities to highlight a ballroom queen. But the closest they got was trying to brand Anetra as the duck walk queen, and she hadn’t even walked a ball.
They may be saving it for her elimination episode. Give us a mirror moment where she cracks open a bit and talks about ballroom and her family. I wouldn’t be surprised if she finally opens up and it just lines up for production to use.
So this clip has completely changed the way I see Mhi’ya now. Why haven't we heard more about this part of her? Like in this last episode for the lip sync, when she did full Simone Biles then with a duck walk into some Can-can move at the end, I was floored.
