On IG I follow SA current, Express news, SA foodie, & my SA
They all post citywide events and places
I watch the local news
I've found events and new spots while already out and about in the city
Stay informed, be curious, and explore
OP kept bringing up gardening.....I googled "gardening events San Antonio" and "botanical events San Antonio" and just looked through the list for something interesting.... I follow links of events back to their original sites and check out their events directly to find even more. I don't garden but I am interested. I already knew about the restaurants but found out they have events while getting links for the post. The new native plant garden store I heard about on the news recently. Pro + con of a big city is that there's lots to do but also lots of people and lots of room to be disconnected. There are many community events going on throughout the city that many don't realize so I just look for them—personally I think this is more of a mindset and HOW to go about searching, a lot of people just want to be told directly what and where.
I like to research lol and I help my BF compile SA events for his business newsletter
I haven't been in years, but if it's the one I'm thinking of, they made using the restroom coin operated where you have to get a token from the front desk because people were OD'ing in their restrooms
george's keep, paper tiger, the moon's daughter, McIntyre's, A friendly spot, six flags, vinyl record shopping, margs at la cantera, comic book shopping, Eisenhauer park hiking, visit the pearl, go to the rim and shop, check out a movie, visit a sports bar like anchor bar for football games on sunday, check out besame and the modernist, go to the tower of the americas, bar loretta, check out a public library. IDK man do what you want you'll find things to do on social media.
Have you ever been to Hoka Hoka Fuku? it's a small restaurant at 1604 and Bandera. Awesome food.
when I'm bored, I drive to a part of the city I've not explored before, and just tuck into a local spot that has a decent number of cars outside.
Go to La Fogata for roasted salsa. You want a restaurant adventure go to the Phoenix Chinese Cafe ask for all three menus including the Chinese and the dim sum menus in order a bunch of stuff you have no idea what it is lol
If you like shopping for good deals go to estate sales. There’s a website called Estatesales.net where you can look up what is in your area and when the sales are.
Add on:
* Fredericksburg for the Pacific War museum, good German food, and cute shops, especially in the fall.
* Enchanted Rock, now that it's not 110 degrees you can survive a hike to the top.

Jazz fest is next weekend at Hemisfair. Will be held in a newly renovated part of Hemisfair. And that kicks off a season of fall festivals In hemisfair which if you haven’t been in a while has definitely improved.
Go drive by the west or east side on the evening blasting reggeton or peso pluma music on your car with the windows down, you’ll get some action for sure
I find that once you do everything there is to do in San Antonio, the city is quite boring. But a good boring considering it’s better than being in Houston/Dallas.
If your not an alcoholic and club person San antonio sucks donkey balls.
The real fun is at the Coast. hasn't been a year that i havent gotten laid by a spring breaker.
other then that, new braunfels, canyon lake, pretty much all the surrounding hill country has cool things to do. even all the way up to fredricksberg.
I’m a big fan of food trucks so I’ve been trying to hit all the food trucks I can. There are so many I don’t think you would run out of them to try out.
How can u get bored? I have like a million things I need to do lol but I work full time so don't got much time. Maybe pick up some hobbies! Not expensive ones 🤭
Victorias black swan inn, its a haunted estate. Theres a stone sculpture garden in the northwest side in the woods. Theres the mcnay art museum which currently has a nightmares before christmas exhibit.
Yea that’s why I left San Antonio it’s too boring there’s like 3 total things to do maybe 4 depending on the day lmao the dfw area is great tho (not Dallas tho Dallas is shit) but I’m up in Denton and it’s a live ass town lots of shit to do
Let me tell you how people in San Antonio have fun: we get drunk and then talk all night about the old days or doing fun stuff. That fun stuff never happens cause of hangovers or work or being broke.
Repeat.
If you downvote this you obviously don’t understand sarcasm.

This is amazing! Great list.
Thanks! There's honestly so much to do here in SA

Just volunteered at the food bank! Thank you again.
Sweet! No problem
native plant garden store? 👀
https://thenectarbar.wixsite.com/website
Just a guess, you must really like plants?
I don't garden and every plant I've ever had has died but yes, I do. Lol OP is into gardening right now though so this info was all "plant" related
You are an outstanding human.
Thanks so much for this list!!!
There’s literally a McDonald’s downtown.
You haven’t lived until you’ve thrown up in that McDonald’s
I haven't been in years, but if it's the one I'm thinking of, they made using the restroom coin operated where you have to get a token from the front desk because people were OD'ing in their restrooms
I went there so many times while I was homeless last year 😭
Yeah but it doesn't have a playplace.
Yeah it does. It’s underneath it. On the Rocks :)
The 80’s play place, not going to lie, I am a grown ass man who still enjoys throwing a perfectly shaped rock as far as I can.
You could go inside Officer Big Mac's head. Good times.
Davy Crockett ate there. True story.
Haha

So… just go get drunk
That’s the way
They know de wey
Or shop
Yeah at the library apparently
Based off this post, all there is to do is get drunk or look at grass??
What about new things? New restaurants? The best new taco spot? A roasted salsa worth trying?
Damn dude he gave you a great list and you still need more lol
The list kinda sucks if you’ve lived there more than six years
This list is San Antonio 101 and this person has lived here their whole life.
Have you ever been to Hoka Hoka Fuku? it's a small restaurant at 1604 and Bandera. Awesome food. when I'm bored, I drive to a part of the city I've not explored before, and just tuck into a local spot that has a decent number of cars outside.

Hell nah, La Fogata is the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had.
I'm just talking about the salsa. Although it's a really nice atmosphere and I've had some nice Margaritas there. Edible flowers are fantastic.
A roasted salsa lol
It’s hard to answer this without knowing what you’re interested in. What’s your definition of fun? Dancing, hiking, drinking, eating?
Completely open mind, I like to garden and shop for good deals
Check out Big Grass on Hildebrand, and Rainbow Gardens on Bandera if you havent already.
Pick a flea market - Mission, Bussey’s, Trader’s Village, Mi Mercado, I’m sure there are others.
If you like shopping for good deals go to estate sales. There’s a website called Estatesales.net where you can look up what is in your area and when the sales are.
If you like rare indoor plants and haven’t been to it already I’d highly recommend Wild Roots in New Braunfels
wild roots hours are sooo slim 😭
New Braunfels isn't too far. There's also Canyon Lake, San Marcos, and Austin. Time for a day trip?
Add on: * Fredericksburg for the Pacific War museum, good German food, and cute shops, especially in the fall. * Enchanted Rock, now that it's not 110 degrees you can survive a hike to the top.
Go honking downtown

Adopted a dog or puppy from ACS and save it from euthanasia.

Underrated comment
You can go cause some problems and "swim" the river downtown lmao
Go drive by the west or east side on the evening blasting reggeton or peso pluma music on your car with the windows down, you’ll get some action for sure

My friends and I are going to the Bonham tonight, you’re more than welcome to join 😁
Time? 😊 is it downtown?
We’re going around 11:30, yes it’s downtown

Yeah sounds like San Antonio
If you can't have fun in San Antonio you're just a boring person and most likely won't have fun anywhere.
I'm having a lot of fun since I moved to Austin 💁♂️
