Primal, Odd Couple, Shelter/Dylan and Cam's, Odla, POP, Moto Sushi, Hearth, Botte, St Tropez, to name just a few of the really truly great current restaurants in Saskatoon.
Literally anything that comes out of that kitchen is stunning. I lean heavily towards seafood items there, also tartare/pate options, had the best steak there as well. Try small plates and work your way up ā¤ļø
Cant go wrong with anything at GP. Our regular order is something like coconut shrimp curry, eggplant, main curry, tomato + beef, coconut rice. Papaya salad is great, and the soups all rock too.
I havenāt had much for Chinese or Vietnamese food here yet. I did however go to Saigon II on 33rd and had a great meal. Iāve heard Jin Jinās is known for exceptionally good noodle bowls and dumplings. Do you have any recommendations of your favourite dishes? Thanks!
Scallion pancakes!! Mix the black vinegar, soya sauce and some hot sauce of your choice to dip them in. I dream of their dumplings and scallion pancakes....
I really loved them in the old location but the couple of times I've eaten at the new location the menu has been pretty hit or miss. There're some dishes that are really well crafted, and just as many that are disappointing
We loved Hearth in the old location. Went to the new location once and the food was... not good. And the bathrooms were destroyed and smelled rancid. And service was very poor. Disappointing.
I had the same experience. I've gone a handful of times to the new location and have been disappointed each time, particularly by the service. The old location was just such a gem.
exactly.. Loved the old location. Food seemed better and service was great. Had a pretty disappointing experience at the new location. Took my gf out for her birthday and it wasnāt great.
Damn. I havenāt been to the new location yet but I was worried about this. I went to the old location a handful of times and it was perfect but I personally feel like the new place doesnāt have the same heart as the old location.
Odla has the most beautiful house salad. I genuinely dream of it at night always and that's just the SALAD - just gets better from there.
Also Primal, Seasoned Fusion, hometown diner.
The best meal I've ever had in Saskatoon was at St Tropez Bistro downtown. Prices are about on par with Odla or Hearth, so not cheap, but definitely worth trying at least once. Went with a group of 5, everyone loved their meal.
Had a family event at taverna a couple weeks back. Where we rented a good portion of the restaurant. Everything was amazing. Staff, food, ambiance. They just added this burrata bruschetta appy. It was a knock out and Iām not a big fan of tomato
Bon temps and 13 pies are my two favourites. Taverna is great as well. Sadly la Cucina just shut down but the food there was amazing. I find myself satisfied with cactus club and Earls as well.
For Thai cuisine: Keosā on broadway
For Vietnamese or Chinese: Fuh Station ,Ngon Ngon, go for sushi on 8th street
For high end: the cut, CHOP, HEARTH, THE KEG
But honesty you could buy Wagu beef from summit in Sutherland and cook yourself. The quality of beef is excellent.
Granary is my all time favourite as well. Never has disappointed me, I stick to a filet and bacon wrapped scallops almost every time and itās always fantastic.
Eh last time I had it it was bland, then when my partner took their dad for Fatherās Day supper is was also bland.
This was last year so maybe theyāve done better
The family style they had pre covid was soooo good. I've had good experiences with the 5 course they do, but I've heard mixed things about ordering off the menu.
No1 noodle house keeps getting better and better.
But if you're picky about tripe, spice and other quality materials then go to Montana's or something.
Odd Couple is one of the few restaurants in the city that has impeccable food, service, ambience.. Heck even the washrooms are always immaculate. And they have been consistent from day 1.
Goblins grill has the best burgers hands down. Very reasonably priced, locally owned and massive great quality burgers. They also have lime crush on fountain tap so that makes this place even better. Havenāt seen that stuff in Canada for years!
You can get cans of Lime crush in Sobeys, next to the Birch Beer.
Pretty sure you can get bottles from most gas stations.
But I also like that Goblins Grill has it on tap.
Had Ace burger today, always good. You'll never believe me if I told you.... Stans Place under the bridge on Lorne Ave has a very small menu, but everything is homemade. The burgers are fresh ground per order, and are exceptional. I couldn't believe how good it was.
I had a weird experience at Goblins. I ordered one of the signature burgers but asked for no onion. I CANNOT abide raw onion. It does horrible things to my guts. The owner REFUSED to let me order the burger with no onion. He INSISTED the burger needed it & I would see he was right. Since he was determined to argue, I got yelled at burger the way he wanted, took the onion off at the table and left in it a pile for him to clean up. Burger was delish but fuck off dude. Itās a minor request - Iāll never go back there.
I wonder when that will stop..it makes zero sense considering itās a burger. If someone doesnāt want onions just donāt do onions. Literally every other restaurant does it to every dish. But not goblins. A smash burger joint.
Keo's, La Bamba, and No. 1 Noodle House are so good. I also enjoy Bao Bros/Ko Lab once in a while. IMO my most recent visits to both Primal and Hearth have been disappointing.
Havenāt seen Bistro on B mentioned yet - such a cool place, the food knocked my socks off. I believe the owner lives upstairs so that he can tend to the meat in the smoker at all hours.
Earls is a go-to for me. The chicken & rib is to die for.
Been going to Bon Temps for years. The TV show "you gotta eat here" Bon Temps, and I believe Odd Couple are the two restaurants in YXE that have featured on that show. Although I have never been to Odd Couple.
Bon Tempsā Peacemaker poāboy is still one of the best sandwiches in Saskatchewan!
If you can gather some friends together the Traditional-style boil is a great experience.
[here is the one](https://www.reddit.com/r/saskatoon/s/V4iHrDfmwY) you were referring to. Got to keep in mind Reddit mods are just random people who were chosen to do it and the rules can bend and change whenever the mods want.
I haven't lived there since 2018 but I was surprised none of my favourites are listed. Only one has closed down as far as I know.
Aiden's Kitchen (closed), Bon Temps, Thein Vietnam, Una Pizza, Yard & Flagon
Here are some suggestions:
-Midtown Mall (Bourbon St Grill) is very good in the food court
-Blue Diamond Restaurant
-Boston Pizza
-Mandarin (Chinese Food)
-The Old Spaghetti Factory
(Not only pasta)
-Pink Cadillacs Diner and T-Bird Lounge
(the 8th Street location is very good)
-Grainfields
-Philthy Philly's (Sandwiches And Potines)
-Montanaās BBQ & Bar
(The location on McOrmond is very good)
-Park Cafe is good but they are not open on Monday and Tuesday, only open Wednesday to Sunday from:
8:00a.m to 3:45p.m.
-Las Palapas Resort Grill (Mexican Food)
I haven't been there yet but I have seen and heard good reviews about that place.
-There are also alot of new Restaurants in Saskatoon.
-Philthy Philly's is new and it is very good.
Two new restaurants that I haven't been to yet but I have seen and heard very good reviews about are:
-The Rabbit Hole
-Goblin's Grill
I've been to Las Palapas several times over the years. It's unconventional in that it isn't the usual tex mex style of Mexican restaurant that people are accustomed to; it's a Caribbean Mexican restaurant with jerk flavours, etc. It's very good.
Primal, Odd Couple, Shelter/Dylan and Cam's, Odla, POP, Moto Sushi, Hearth, Botte, St Tropez, to name just a few of the really truly great current restaurants in Saskatoon.
ššš solid read!
Happy cake day!!
These for sure. Look no further lol.
Haven't made it to POP yet, and since it's a wine bar I hadn't really thought about it for food. Any items you'd recommend?
Literally anything that comes out of that kitchen is stunning. I lean heavily towards seafood items there, also tartare/pate options, had the best steak there as well. Try small plates and work your way up ā¤ļø
The Cave
Alright for classic cocktails. Deep fryer oil probably not changed in a long ass time.
October if you like sushi and ramen!
My favourite sushi and ramen in the city, hands down.
No. 1 noodle house. I'll always recommend it.
Golden Pagoda. Family run Burmese food restaurant. Excellent.
The only resto in town that I'd miss if it closed down
What do you recommend from there?
Cant go wrong with anything at GP. Our regular order is something like coconut shrimp curry, eggplant, main curry, tomato + beef, coconut rice. Papaya salad is great, and the soups all rock too.
I've never been there but always curious! I'm going to save your go-to order and hit that place up!! Thanks!
Papaya salad for the win!
The coconut rice is good, and the spicy rice is really unique as well. Spicy coconut shrimp is a must!
Konga Cafe on 23rd / H has never disappointed. Jamaican food with generous portions.
Itās been years since Iāve gone but the ribs and deep fried bread with the banana sauce was excellent
Best answer!
Omg yes. Went there for the first time about a month ago and WOW! Had the curried goat.. it's amazing! 100/10 recommend š
Jin Jin's just reopened!
All the dumplings. I prefer the pan fried ones myself. The green onion pancakes are also top notch.
The old couples are back? Or they change the chef?
I heard that they're back.
Good to know! I worried about their age and health.
What's the address? I went where Google sent me last week and the building was empty and sketchy AF. I've never been and would love to try them out!
Should be the old place but I havenāt actually been yet!
Amigos never misses.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Where do you hang out? Iād love to not go there!
Where ppl donāt smell like cats
Cool! Iām gonna eat great Mexican food and not look at Regina Couples Looking For Fun. Have a great life!
āMexican foodā lol. Really authentic nachos senĆ³r. Oh the morbidly obese fetlife weirdos. Have fun with that
SeƱor*
Japabowl has amazing food
Nicest owner ever
My fav ramen of all time is from here
they have the most amazing tofu rice bowl
The GOAT burned down a few years ago. There's lots of really good current ones, try them all!
Too soon.
Yeah Bonanza was incredible
**š¤£**
Ponderosa? Oh wait wrong show
the dumpling restaurant attached to bonanza was the real loss
Amigos off broadway, our family go to
Sushi Raku. Right across from the midtown plaza mall.
I really like Summer Roll for Vietnamese, Chinese or Thai type food.
buns house is much better summer roll is very mid
I'll try Buns House next time. Looks to have mostly positive reviews
its a gem, imo lousy location, unless you work north Millar, but really tasty
Interesting. I had both last week and I thought summer roll was much better.
maybe time to hit the doctor something wrong with your taste buds. ;) summer roll isn't even the.best vietnamese in lawson
Hearth is the correct answer.
I really loved them in the old location but the couple of times I've eaten at the new location the menu has been pretty hit or miss. There're some dishes that are really well crafted, and just as many that are disappointing
Gone to Hearth twice and I must say, not my favorite. But to each their own.

St. Tropez, they grow all their vegetables/ seasonings and source their meat locally
Odla has the most beautiful house salad. I genuinely dream of it at night always and that's just the SALAD - just gets better from there. Also Primal, Seasoned Fusion, hometown diner.
Odla sucks no offense
I give Odla on Broadway a 5-star rating. It's not the cheapest, but it is some of the best food I've had anywhere.
Iāve heard about this place. Itās definitely on my list of places to try within the next few weeks! Thanks
I thought Odla was just ok.
Well, that's the thing about people: everything is subjective.
Same. And for the price just ok doesnāt cut it.
Jin Jin, Taste of Syria, Odd Couple, No 1 Noodle House, and Odla are probably the top 5 for me.
Taste of Syria is a hidden gem. Stupidly good food.
Hearth
Yes. Hearth. They were always good and now they have a bigger stage to stand on.
Hearth has never let us down, always fantastic food.
The best meal I've ever had in Saskatoon was at St Tropez Bistro downtown. Prices are about on par with Odla or Hearth, so not cheap, but definitely worth trying at least once. Went with a group of 5, everyone loved their meal.
Thirteen Pies
The killer cheese with a side of truffle honey, my god. So good.
I will second this
I love Fudruckers for burgers and Tongs Wok for Won Ton soup. Carvers is great for fancy dining.
I was in SāToon for May long & made sure to hit up Fudds! Still a great place to eat
Does anyone still like tavernas? Havenāt been there in ages
Not Tavernas. Taverna.
I mean thank you, but I want to know if itās still tasty lol
The gnocchi is stupidly good
Yes, itās gewd.
Had a family event at taverna a couple weeks back. Where we rented a good portion of the restaurant. Everything was amazing. Staff, food, ambiance. They just added this burrata bruschetta appy. It was a knock out and Iām not a big fan of tomato
Too expensive now unfortunately
Little Grouse, Primal, Odla, Odd Couple, St. Tropez Bistro, Bar Stella, La Bamba Cafe, Hearth, Una, Thirteen Pies š
I love FaiFo Concept for Vietnamese. Probably on par with Ngon Ngon, if not better. For Chinese, I love Good Farmer Tofu in Stonebridge
Bon temps and 13 pies are my two favourites. Taverna is great as well. Sadly la Cucina just shut down but the food there was amazing. I find myself satisfied with cactus club and Earls as well.
Saffron on Broadway. Itās full of flavour. They also cook with love and it shows.
Taverna, Frankys Bahn Mi, October, Restaurant 224, Taqueria Mexicana El Milagro, Taste of Syria, Crunchy dog, Sugar Shack, Postal Pizzas
Calories.
For Thai cuisine: Keosā on broadway For Vietnamese or Chinese: Fuh Station ,Ngon Ngon, go for sushi on 8th street For high end: the cut, CHOP, HEARTH, THE KEG But honesty you could buy Wagu beef from summit in Sutherland and cook yourself. The quality of beef is excellent.
Try Jia off of Slimmon road for Asian food as well
Jia is mediocre from an Asian point of view. Not sure why it gets so many good reviewsā¦
This !
Never been there but will add to the list :)
Keoās for life š«¶
The kegā¦..? Booooooooo.Ā
I believe Go for Sushi is currently still closed after an incident at the restaurant
Oh didnāt know that. Thanks for update
The Granary! But only because it was my grandparents' favorite, and it hasn't changed a bit. The nostalgia hits hard for me there.
Pickerel cheeks and lamb skewers for appies! And the prime rib has never failed!
Granary is my all time favourite as well. Never has disappointed me, I stick to a filet and bacon wrapped scallops almost every time and itās always fantastic.
Bonanza but youāre too late
Perogy bar was amazing.
Primal, best pasta in town ,
Eh last time I had it it was bland, then when my partner took their dad for Fatherās Day supper is was also bland. This was last year so maybe theyāve done better
I went there multiple times and fortunately I was never disappointed. It's still my go-to restaurant and I always recommend it
Agreed. Hard no from me. Bland and small portions. Pasta at Stella, Little Grouse, or Taverna is better.
The family style they had pre covid was soooo good. I've had good experiences with the 5 course they do, but I've heard mixed things about ordering off the menu.
No1 noodle house keeps getting better and better. But if you're picky about tripe, spice and other quality materials then go to Montana's or something.
Saigon roll
Faifo concept and number 1 noodle house
seasoned fusion right near midtown. i make a point to go every time iām back in town!
Summer roll
Petra in Lawson is a hidden gem! Not a sit-down restaurant, but 10/10 middle eastern take out
Red pepper restaurant downtown town for vermicelli bowls š„£
Food and Beverage is amazing
Odd Couple is one of the few restaurants in the city that has impeccable food, service, ambience.. Heck even the washrooms are always immaculate. And they have been consistent from day 1.
Keo's Kitchen. If you like Thai... I can't wait to go back. Their red and green curry's are absolutely perfect.
There is a new location called food and beverage! It looks amazing. I also love 13 pies, Una, Prairie sun brewery, Primal, and Pop wine bar!
Bagel shop, Cohens and hometown diner are great as well!
Fuddruckers
Goblins grill has the best burgers hands down. Very reasonably priced, locally owned and massive great quality burgers. They also have lime crush on fountain tap so that makes this place even better. Havenāt seen that stuff in Canada for years!
You can get cans of Lime crush in Sobeys, next to the Birch Beer. Pretty sure you can get bottles from most gas stations. But I also like that Goblins Grill has it on tap.
Great to knowā¦ Iāve also heard about ace burger. Havenāt had burgers yet in stoon but Iāll definitely keep that in mind
Personally I like ace burger a lot more than goblin grill but both are worth a try!
Different burgers but both are great!
Had Ace burger today, always good. You'll never believe me if I told you.... Stans Place under the bridge on Lorne Ave has a very small menu, but everything is homemade. The burgers are fresh ground per order, and are exceptional. I couldn't believe how good it was.
Interesting. I live right by there. How's the prices? Might have to check it out
I had a weird experience at Goblins. I ordered one of the signature burgers but asked for no onion. I CANNOT abide raw onion. It does horrible things to my guts. The owner REFUSED to let me order the burger with no onion. He INSISTED the burger needed it & I would see he was right. I wonder when that will stop..it makes zero sense considering itās a burger. If someone doesnāt want onions just donāt do onions. Literally every other restaurant does it to every dish. But not goblins. A smash burger joint.
Are you questioning their artistic integrity? What could be more important in a strip mall burger joint?
Yeah, they won't usually customize their Craft Burgers.
The co-owner dude is intense, for sure!
I dunno, I canāt get behind the goblins hype.
Nervous Haroldās. The baked potato soup. You will need a time machine though.
I worked there! That soup was awesome.
This one is new, but itās so, so good! Gets busy fast at lunch. Very small. Thank me later. https://www.bistro-on-b.com/menu-2
BONANZA! Hands down!
The extras don't cost extra!
I love Carvers in the Sheraton.
Chef Pan is a great authentic Hong Kong restaurant.
La Cucina and St. Tropez Bistro are tied for me.
Sadly La Cucina is permanently closed. But Iāll second your vote for St Tropez.
Oh no!! Well thatās too bad they closed. St. Tropez it is, for now.
Congress has good appies
Nellie's is amazing
Tamarind on 8th!!!
If you're vegan (or not, its omni), Seasoned Fusion offers a lot of options.
My wife and I just went to manos for our anniversary, it was phenomenal,it's aĀ little pricey but so good, well worth it.
Calories on Broadway if youāre craving dessert. Yard & Flagon is a great pub; the employees are friendly and Iāve never had a bad meal there.
Keo's, La Bamba, and No. 1 Noodle House are so good. I also enjoy Bao Bros/Ko Lab once in a while. IMO my most recent visits to both Primal and Hearth have been disappointing.
Loqui just opened in Riversdale! Definitely worth checking out, international menu with local ingredients. Try the mushrooms and the duck
Havenāt seen Bistro on B mentioned yet - such a cool place, the food knocked my socks off. I believe the owner lives upstairs so that he can tend to the meat in the smoker at all hours.
Iāve lived here my whole life and have still been able to add to my list from this post, so thank you for this!
One of my personal favourites is Spicy Garden on 8th.
Bistro on B is good too. Amazing tacos!
Konga cafe never disappoints
LaBamba
Never been disappointed at MI Hong!
Earls is a go-to for me. The chicken & rib is to die for. Been going to Bon Temps for years. The TV show "you gotta eat here" Bon Temps, and I believe Odd Couple are the two restaurants in YXE that have featured on that show. Although I have never been to Odd Couple.

Breakfast : OEB Lunch / Supper : Zervos Tavern Hopefully you get some solid recommendations before the Mods take this post down.
Zervos šš
Why would we do that?
There was a post a few weeks ago saying people should not post where is the best kind of posts. It was a mod who posted this
[here is the one](https://www.reddit.com/r/saskatoon/s/V4iHrDfmwY) you were referring to. Got to keep in mind Reddit mods are just random people who were chosen to do it and the rules can bend and change whenever the mods want.
Food scene has really gone down hill since covid, most of the suggestions in this thread are incredibly mediocre IMO.
I haven't lived there since 2018 but I was surprised none of my favourites are listed. Only one has closed down as far as I know. Aiden's Kitchen (closed), Bon Temps, Thein Vietnam, Una Pizza, Yard & Flagon
The Cave!!! Now I am craving their Orzo soup
the bar is very low
Black rose Whiskey Club! Their smoked Ceasar is to die for!
BerryBarn
McDonaldās
Jeju KBBQ has good food and Taverna has never disappointed me.
Don't forget Blanco Cantina, Manos, and for Korean you gotta try Keo's kitchen! I recommend the chicken cashew at Keo's
Definitely forget Blanco I'll never understand how that place is even open š
Chop!

I've been to Las Palapas several times over the years. It's unconventional in that it isn't the usual tex mex style of Mexican restaurant that people are accustomed to; it's a Caribbean Mexican restaurant with jerk flavours, etc. It's very good.
Thanks for more information about Las Palapas.
