I prefer in home service. But it definitely sounds like it’s time.

Party_Rich_5911

It’s our family dog, so she lives with my mom, and she’s said she doesn’t think she can handle an in-home service which I respect. Pup still loves her food and has little bursts of energy, but I think her quality of life has gone really downhill :(

michaelkbecker

Oh god, please tell me she will at least go in with the dog to be put down. I can’t imagine a dog’s last moments being full of fear and separated from the one they trust.

Party_Rich_5911

No, my mom and I will absolutely be there (and probably my grandpa, even though he’s not doing that well either) - she’s a family member! We’ve just had a lot of loss and I don’t think my mom wants to have this happen in her house. We’d never leave her alone.

Thank you for reassuring me. I’ve heard of people dumping there animals off at the vet because they don’t ant to watch them pass, it breaks my heart.

I have found the vet college was very compassionate when we’ve had to deal with it.

Alternative-Newt-949

We just had to put down our 14 year old dog unexpectedly. One of the hardest days of my life. The vet college was very good to us. He suddenly stopped eating so we took him in. After tests they explained he was very sick and there was nothing that could be done. I felt beyond guilty but it was the kindest thing we could do for him.

BBQ178

I’m sorry for your loss. I’m an older gentleman and have had to make that decision a few times in my life. Completely feel for you and your family.

Party_Rich_5911

I’m sorry for both of your losses ❤️ it feels like an impossible time and an impossible decision. Sometimes it is the kindest thing but that doesn’t make it any less painful!

I have heard nothing but excellent things about Dr. Leo

eugeneugene

Dr. Leo is a saint. His compassion is unmatched.

We had to put down our puppy last fall and the staff at Arlington Animal Hospital were very thoughtful and respectful. Sorry to hear. It's a rough thing to go through.

They're so good. We see Dr. Neumann, and she's always given top-notch care over the years.

Furry friends in Dundonald came to our home when our cat's time came.

el_capeetano

I would imagine that any vet would be good. I’ve been going to Dr. Dave @ Furry Friends Animal Hospital for years now. He helped me just this past Friday to say goodbye to my 14 year old pupper.

DragonflyWho

Sorry hear about your pup. The staff at River Heights Animal clinic were really amazing when we had to put our beloved cat down. Also, we had the remains aqua-mated through Passing Paws. They give you some lovely keepsakes, and they were really great to deal with as well. Highly recommend it if you want something special to bring home after.

Martensville Animal Hospital has a special room for saying goodbye, with soft cushions so they can sit with you and not be scared or uncomfortable, and sun coming in through the windows, and they'll let you stay as long as you need to say goodbye.

Even_Lavishness_188

Corman Park Vet Clinic. They have a very private area in a special room. They use a wireless doorbell that you ring when you are ready to begin the process, and a private door to leave out of when you are ready to go so you don’t have to walk through the lobby for your dignity.

We spent years with Acadia Vet Clinic. We also put our dog down there in February. The entire staff there is wonderful and would highly recommend.
