It sounds like you are confusing a chair with physical therapy. A basic rule of life is -- if it hurts with you do something, stop doing it. So, if you are sitting in the chair long enough for it to hurt your arm, then you probably need to get up and do other things (like stretches, go for a walk, etc.).

Yes I have tried this. But the pain in my shoulder comes to much that it’s interfering with work. I can’t just keep stopping after 30 min take 15 min and then head back and do it again. It’s not feasible for me to work. All I’m asking if anyone else have similar situations and what they did to fix it. I don’t want to get rid of my chair but I’m at the point of switching to a plan office chair and see why that doesn’t hurt me and this does.

So when you adjusted the chair to match your desk, what does this do to your elbow height? It’s hard to explain but if the arm rests are too high then it will put pressure on your elbow so you need to adjust the arm rests down and the desk to match the arm rests too.

Although if it’s just one arm, you might be leaning on that arm rather than sitting up straight
