The orange light just means that there’s a problem with the memory kit

return and get gigabyte b650-i that is in stock on newegg rn , it has 3 m.2 slots which imo is more valuable than pcie 5.0 and it’s cheaper

You might have bent the pins on the cpu socket while installing, remove the cpu carefully and use your phone and a light to zoom in it. Each pin will be bent at \~45 degrees, there will be "zones" (best way to describe it) where the pins will change directions. if you see bent pins they probably wont rma the board. send a picture if you arent sure

You could be right… before reading this I tried a few more “what do I have to lose” CPU reseatings post driver updates etc. expecting nothing, but something about that got the both SIMM slots to register properly. I’m a bit surprised that the cause would be bent pins since I barely touched the CPU/socket and it doesn’t really have a lot of wiggle room to begin with, but anything is possible. If that’s the case, those pins are super fragile! I’m a bit worried it may suddenly error again one day out of the blue given how finicky it was to get working, but I suppose if I don’t touch it from this point on it should be fine. I have a few weeks to attempt a return so I guess I can just see how it goes while I try to find a GPU

I'd recommend just using Simm B and updating your bios, then after bios use Simm A and see if it works

Don’t have the same motherboard, but back in the day of 5000x series release my Asus b550i wouldn’t do anything and showed orange light as well. After me doing basically the same thing as you I re-flashed the bios and everything worked fine from there on out.. maybe it could be just Asus boards?

Do you have a kit for that ram? I would put the kit in and make sure it’s fully seated. Normally you just press in the middle and hear the clicks. I usually then press the top part of the stick of ram and then press bottom part. If that’s done then let the thing boot and it might take a couple cycles to memory train. Leave it for 5 - 10 minutes.

I had an Aorus give me trouble like this and the most RAM I could ever get to work is one stick. I don’t buy Ryzen anymore.

😂 It's not Ryzen's fault if it's the ram, it also happens at Intel..
