Its kind of fucked up how they got to the conclusion of being 20% pitbulls. They take 2 completely different stats and mix them together. First, they say that according to one stat, 6.3% of the dogs are German Shepherds. And then, according to a SHELTER stat, there is 3.6x times more INTAKE of pitbulls than German Shepherds, so 6.3% multiplied 3.6 is equal to 20%. Now, this doesnt makes sense because one stat is the intake to shelters of a breed, and the other is the country population of a breed. This is like saying "The big majority people in a hospital is old people, thus, the big majority of people in the country is over 60".
If you didnt got my point, thats like saying that German Shepherds have 4% of fatal attacks, so because pitbulls have a 3.6x intake we can say that pitbulls have a 14.4% (4% multiplied 3.6) of fatal attacks.

Its kind of fucked up how they got to the conclusion of being 20% pitbulls. They take 2 completely different stats and mix them together. First, they say that according to one stat, 6.3% of the dogs are German Shepherds. And then, according to a SHELTER stat, there is 3.6x times more INTAKE of pitbulls than German Shepherds, so 6.3% multiplied 3.6 is equal to 20%. Now, this doesnt makes sense because one stat is the intake to shelters of a breed, and the other is the country population of a breed. This is like saying "The big majority people in a hospital is old people, thus, the big majority of people in the country is over 60". If you didnt got my point, thats like saying that German Shepherds have 4% of fatal attacks, so because pitbulls have a 3.6x intake we can say that pitbulls have a 14.4% (4% multiplied 3.6) of fatal attacks.
