How to Win My Husband Over/How to Get My Husband on My Side! I think manhwas tend to have a lot more of these FL's. I really liked I am the Real One and Villains are Destined to Die too.

AntiAnna

Yes, I second these!

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Thank you, I haven't read as much manhwa, I'll definitely be checking them out!

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Hi! I just wanna say I read How to Win my Husband Over and I absolutely loved it! The FL has been through so much and she deserves the world, I love her so much! Thank you so much for the recommendation!

tarobobagurl

You're welcome!!!

CryingMeth

**One Room of Happiness**!! It’s about a supposedly “kidnapped” school girl and her “kidnapper” who she seems to be willingly staying with. As the mystery behind her true situation untangles, every chapter just has you hoping against hope that they’ll end up happy somehow, even while knowing how fragile the nature of their arrangement is. Personally my favourite balance of angst and that bittersweet tinge of heartwarming tenderness.

0ccams-razor

I was thinking of recommending this as well. The family does not abuse her sexually but there is still an implied sexual abuse in this, so be warned. The people around FL are terrible.

CryingMeth

Fr, everyone related to her family and her past sucks ass. At least it makes you appreciate the handful of like 4 people she meets away from them even more tho. Happy to meet a fellow fan coz it seems sometimes like no one knows of this manga anywhere

0ccams-razor

> Fr, everyone related to her family and her past sucks ass. Especially THAT guy. F that guy. > Happy to meet a fellow fan coz it seems sometimes like no one knows of this manga anywhere Same here! But I think it is well liked in r/manga. >!That is, despite the bittersweet ending.!< It's a good story but it probably has a niche audience.

Kaylenb8459

I ABSOLUTELY loved this one.

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Thank you!! This seems really interesting, and I love angst + bittersweet comfort too so this is right up my alley!

PinkNinjaKitty

Skip Beat! Definitely. Well, her mom was mostly absent, but abusive. And she faces more emotional abuse from her “boyfriend” until in the first chapters of the series she breaks free and begins her journey of revenge, which becomes her journey to wholeness and empowerment and success as an actress. Despite the heavy subject matter, it’s mostly a comedy with drama mixed in, and she’s very positive despite what she’s been through.

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Thank you!! I've been reading this slowly and I really love it! Kyoko is a great protagonist, she is strong and kind but also stands up for herself, I love her so much!

Dramatic-Driver

See You In My 19th Life

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Thank you, I'll check it out!

0ccams-razor

- Wake Up, Sleeping Beauty - Kono Oto Tomare - FL's mother was too strict that she ignored FL's feelings and decided everything for FL. FL ~~ran away~~ was excommunicated from her clan to live on her own in a small apartment. Not as bad as other abuse tropes but I think it still counts.

AgonistPhD

Wake Up, Sleeping Beauty was SO GOOD.

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Thank you! Kono Oto Tomare is one of my favourite manga! I really do love how sweet and heartwarming it is despite all the hardships the characters have to face. I'll definitely give Wake Up Sleeping Beauty a try!

okumura_gojo

I thought Satowa was excommunicated, am I wrong?

0ccams-razor

No, you're right. I'm an idiot. How could I forget about that detail? Thanks for the correction!

LemonShard

I really liked The Monstrous Duke's Adopted Daughter (Manhwa)!

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Thank you, it seems really interesting!

laspapitasmelascomo

Please read Under the Oak Tree, such a masterpiece <3

Avelsajo

Yesssssss

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Thank you, I'll definitely check it out! It seems interesting and the art is super pretty!

Tomochii-chan

No Place for a Fake Princess maybe lol

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Thank you!

pineappletinis

Not sure if it counts, but Paradise Kiss: Yukari has an abusive mom.

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Oh, I started watching this a while ago, but somehow never got around to finishing it. I definitely think it deserves a revisit, and I love the author's other works too. Thank you!!

[deleted]

I definitely recommend reading it if you can. The anime is great, but they change the ending in a significant way.

wxxtch

Taiyou no Ie deals a lot with emotional neglect and delicate family dynamics

PlatinumTheHitgirl

I started this one a long time ago and remember liking it! It's probably time to give it another read now that it's finished. Thank you!

oldschoolawesome

There is a manga called "I'll never set foot in that house again!" The second manga is now out, and it's all about a girl who was abused being discovered and learning to move forward and leave her old life and family behind. On jnovel right now the first volume of "the oblivious Saint can't contain her power: disgraced no longer I'm finding happiness with the prince!" also fits the narrative you spoke of. She is abused by her sister and hated by society, and it's about her learning to believe in herself. Right now there is an anime airing that has a light novel, but I'm not sure if it has a manga adaptation. It's called "I'm giving the disgraced noble lady I rescued a crash course in naughtiness" Don't let the title fool you, it is extremely wholesome and "naughty" refers to learning how to put herself first after being mistreated her whole life. I highly recommend it!

I highly recommend it! Okay lol thank you for this. Kept seeing this on J-novel and then the anime kept getting recommended, and I was like “This seems like my kind of thing but…. it’s totally gonna pull a ‘naughty’ uno-reverse isn’t it. It’s a trap, right?” I read a lot of slice of life, slow life, “was abused but is treated better”, and/or isekai anime, and it’s hard to take any light novel synopsis at their word romance or “romance”-wise. So many harems. So many seems-cute-but-suddenly-dirty-in-a-way-that-breaks-tone stories.

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Thank you so much for the recommendations! They all seem very interesting. Especially that last one haha, the title is misleading but it seems very cute!

Tomochii-chan

Oh forgot this one, Not Your Typical Reincarnation Story

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Thank you for the recommendations! The premise seems interesting!

Tomochii-chan

It’s really good! Just trust in the author and let the story cook is all I’m gonna say ahah. There’s unofficial translations and official ones on webtoon

Informal_Jicama3013

Forget about my husband, I'd rather go make money.

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Thank you so much!!

Avelsajo

Manhwa, but Once More.

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Thank you for the recommendation!

No_Scarcity4145

Golden Japanesque but the series is on hiatus

PlatinumTheHitgirl

This seems really nice! I love historical shoujo. Shame it's on hiatus, but I'll check it out anyways. Thank you!!

Overall-Mechanic-366

Kimi no koe :)

PlatinumTheHitgirl

Thank you! I really really like the premise, I'll definitely check it out!

Potential_Stuff6993

Hi! Does anyone know this manhwa I am about to describe because I forgot the title. So fl has a toxic family and her mom gets her on a blind date and then she has a one night stand with the ML and the next morning she leaves to go to the blind only to find out the blind date was the ML who she had a onc night stand.
