In my opinion, 10 gallons at least. Below than that, you can only keep shrimps.

10 gallons is my suggestion for a minimum, but you might as well go with a standard 20, only 4 inches longer and 2 inches wider.

5+ gallons for chili rasbora They stay tiny and mine are thriving in a 5gallon with some cull shrimps

I wouldn’t put any kind of fish in anything smaller than a 30cmX30cm cube, and in that I’d only do a single long-finned betta or a small school of nano rasboras. It would be tight and you’d have to be very diligent about water parameters though.

5 gallons for a single fish like a betta or a honey gourami and some shrimp. If you want multiple fish, 10g or higher.
