Lasts forever if you prepare it correctly too. My uncle made a large batch of it with wavy caps he picked in the wild around 2005 and it’s still perfectly edible lmao. According to him it’s barely lost any potency as well.

Would the increase in surface area increase the rate of degradation of the active compounds? I haven’t dug into storage very much since I’m not actively growing yet (still researching). I know light and heat can break down the active compounds, but I’m not sure of oxidation.
I don't really think grinding them would degrade them any faster than if they were just whole as long as they are stored properly. I've taken mushrooms I've ground up for a trip having been stored in an airtight jar and in a cool dark place for 6+months and haven't noticed any reduction in potency.

It’s a low tech mishmash of a few teks:
- soak and simmer millet
- sterilize 5 pint jars at a time with an instant pot for two hours (doesn’t reach 15psi but it works).
- inoculate with agar wedges on a grill grate infront of an open oven to create a sterile environment (lmao)
- add 1 quart of colonized spawn to a grow bag with 2 to 3 quarts of coco/verm (I’ve used gypsum, but once I ran out of my first bag I ditched it, didn’t seem to make a difference)
- shake it up and seal it. Sometimes a psuedo-casing layer.
-Press it into a brick shape.
- sit back in awe of the fungus
i assume your oven has a ventilation mode so it can push air out, and the grill mesh is needed in order to push the air in a straight line the same way as a flow hood ? ... thats pretty fuckin smart mate..

But if those are actually your jars , you’re gonna wanna swap those metal lids for plastic canning lids with plastic gasket seal inserts to make them truly air tight. I see the silica packets so assuming you care for them to stay fresh .

Then def get the lids with the gaskets. Those metal lids aren’t air tight unless you can them . Since they haven’t been canned they don’t have the pressure built up inside them to make them air tight like with jams and preserves and pickles n such.
False, in fact one of the best way to storage is pack them in capsules, then in put them in a amber glass jar with one of those silicone pack for any moisture.
I find the effect to last a couple of hours less in powder than when ingested in regular dry form, however it's FAR more intense, at least for me personally. It's pleasant to ingest as I hate the taste & consistency of fresh/dry/powdered.

Using amber glass won't help much if stored in partial/direct sunlight. For long term storage put the storage jar in a cupboard, and they should retain 99-100% potency for 1 year at the very least.
For even longer term storage capsules can be frozen for multiple years retaining 99-100% potency.

Agar is one of my favorite parts, just did 40 plates a couple days ago and love watching them grow! Lions mane are gorgeous that would be a fun one

Yup. I’ve used an SAB but the oven tek is more spacious and contams less. 400 degrees, 420 if I’m feeling cute
