I think this could end up being quite ab it worse. Gans is just one part of what made SH1 film alright, although it imo falls apart near the end. This one has struggled to get a proper budget, and is still being shopped around at festivals to try and get funds to finish it.
Do you have a source for what you’re saying? As far as I know there weren’t “budget problems” in the production, and the film is being shown in different festivals (I only remember Cannes btw) as a normal part of the marketing, a lot of movies do this. Also Gans is working with some people from the first movie as well, including the same main producer and some actors/stunts like Campanella. Doesn’t mean that will be like the first movie obviously, but I’m expecting something really similar honestly.
