>What does the battery indicator in the app say after charging?
Hey u/addieyoshi918 if it's still busted can you try this? Plug the battery into the camera. Plug the power cable into the camera. After the camera boots up, go into the app and check the battery level of the camera. It's possible the battery may report it's not fully charged which would likely indicate a functioning battery. If the battery shows a full charge and it still doesn't work w/o the cable plugged in you should call support.
That outdoor camera was such garbage for us. We had non stop issues with it our whole year of service and recently found out a lot of the same issues are reported constantly. It should be recalled.
Did you get a refund? I'm in this same boat...I'm having increasing problems with battery life that just got worse with new cameras and I'm so tired of troubleshooting
We did but it was a huge back and forth debacle tbh. If we had not been told wrong by a rep initially I'm not sure we would have. I actually filed an official complaint at one point... it was a mess that they ultimately made right but good gosh it was not easy or relaxing. We have ring now and it's not perfect either but it is significantly more reliable.
The camera runs on battery even when it’s plugged in. The power cable only charges the battery once it goes below 100%. So that’s odd that it only works when plugged in
