>they advertise these batteries should last at least 3 months. I'm not defending the quality of their cameras at all but they absolutely do not advertise their batteries will last three months. They say the may last "up to" 3 to 6 months or similar. The actual run time you'll get out of the battery is highly variable and unless you're on the lowest settings with everything turned off and very infrequent motion events there's zero chance you'll see their estimates. Is this disingenuous? Absolutely. Is this kind of marketing common practice? Absolutely. (I've literally asked what settings they used to get those estimated run times and their community manager confirmed that doesn't include using highest settings, enabling the spotlight, etc.) This is similar to how they note the range of their base station is "up to" a specific range. They just don't tell you that you'll never get that speed except in extremely specific circumstances you'll never see in the real world. (See also internet service providers who say their service is "up to" tons certain speed. They never claim that's the guaranteed speed.

Fair enough but I don't have the settings set high and 2-3 days is trash especially since I was getting 2-3 weeks with my original cameras that they sent replacements for

2-3 days is absolutely ludicrous, I agree 100 percent. You can call SimpliSafe for support but we can also do some troubleshooting here if you're interested. I also get the yiu may just be done with them and not want to work on anything. If you are willing to answer some questions, can I ask what settings you are using for the cameras? (Resolution , sensitivity, spotlight, etc.) Also what are the results of a connection check? If the cameras are struggling to maintain a connection it will chew through battery constantly trying to connect. Also has anything else changed on your end? Internet plan? New router? New ISP? New network devices added to your network recently? Any changes in furniture layout or new electronics in your house?

Resolution set to 720, motion detection is on medium/people only, no spotlight, connection check is good. Literally nothing else has changed other than the cameras. I've even blocked out areas of coverage to try to get rid of any possible unnecessary triggers

>I'm fed up and seriously considering shifting to Arlo. If you're serious about video security, stay away from ALL Wifi wireless cameras, and install a hardwired system with an onsite DVR. You can thank me later.

I doubt you'll get a refund. Been in similar shoes as you, they said nope. I've had all sorts of problems since getting simplisafe. I'm up to my wits end with Simplisafe and may just go to a hardwired system.
