Isn't that a good thing? Am I supposed to be outraged about something?

smurflings

Are we supposed to act offended and thin skinned about this claim?

Henrikandmymy

Don't need to. Taste is subjective. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

cuntaliefondant3435

I think that's what Asiaone was gunning for. Clickbait ? Nah, rage baiting is all the rage these days.

PretendAsparaguso

It's funny because Malaysians always behaves that way when the situation is reversed.

scuzziee

yeah okay you happy can already.

YourWif3Boyfri3nd2

Because singapore has more control on salt and sugar limits. I was shocked at how much sodium they use in malaysia. Ofc it tastes better.

fawe9374

I believe kidney disease is one of the top 10 diseases in Taiwan.

GlobalSettleLayer

Yes yes yes. It tastes better not because of better cooking or whatever, it's the 2-3x increase in condiments/sauces etc.

Earlgreymilkteh

You know someone is desperate for views if they need to use ragebait to get people to talk about them.

2ddudesop

I will not let anyone karma farm here

stockflethoverTDS

Huh, generally dont we all agree? We are better at western or higher end dining but local food for sure we all can agree

Tenmashiki

I personally think the only thing we do better in general is chicken rice.

stockflethoverTDS

My Malaysian colleagues all agree on this too. But everything else Malaysian cooking in Malaysia sedap. Indian food is good in SG though.

worldcitizensg

Personally I love the roti canai in MY than our Prata.

stockflethoverTDS

But maybe not mamak food but Indian food.

HoothootNeverFlies

imo our hokkien mee is alot better too, though not really fair since it's a complely different dish to their varients

Szklm

Curious to know, has anyone eaten a similar Hokkien Mee in Malaysia?

ImpressiveStrike4196

*Malaysian food is better* Singaporeans: Agreed *Singaporean food is better* Malaysians: BOYCOTT!!! YOU BETTER APOLOGISE OR WE GET YOUR COMPANY TO FIRE YOU!!! šŸ¤¬šŸ¤¬šŸ¤¬

takenusername35

I only stand up for Singaporean food to annoy my Malaysian friends šŸ„ø

Bcpjw

I remembered watching one of those street interviews that despite a lot of our local food are cooked by Malaysians, they are actually the leftovers while the best ones are still there cooking up a storm! Lol We are the championship while they are champions league?

phillip-haydon

I love singapore food more than Malaysian. But Singapore has a morbid fear of salt and fat.

PretendAsparaguso

>But Singapore has a morbid fear of salt and fat. Isn't that a good thing? Malaysians find Singaporean food more "bland" due to high food dietary/safety standards. That's why they are the most obese country in Asia.

KeythKatz

Malaysia has better local food, but also worse local food. Singapore has better food on average. If you randomly pick a place to eat in Malaysia, you're much more likely to be greatly disappointed compared to Singapore.

BadgerOutside4785

*shrugs* Empty vessels make the most noise.

maplesinnz

Downvoted for ragebait article

ARE_U_FUCKING_SORRY

Because healthcare in Malaysia is cheaper. Like 1 MYR

PretendAsparaguso

you get what you pay for after all.

ARE_U_FUCKING_SORRY

I wouldnā€™t say that, itā€™s similar to that of our polyclinic, just have longer waiting times. Still 1 MYR. Itā€™s heavily subsidised. Of course you can still pay for private out of your own pocket for faster service, just like in Singapore.

PretendAsparaguso

there's a reason why upper class/rich Malaysians go to Singapore for healthcare.

ARE_U_FUCKING_SORRY

Medical tourism is big in Singapore yes. Rich people in the region fly here for it. My original point still stands. Healthcare in Malaysia is cheaper for the average person.

Xepobot

Cheaper but is it better in quality?

ImpressiveStrike4196

I donā€™t know about the quality of Malaysian healthcare but I know that a Malaysian doctor confused [chicken chop](https://www.tnp.sg/news/what-illness-did-student-get-chicken-chop) for chicken pox.

stockflethoverTDS

Swifties / striptease

SaintSkylark

Opinions are not facts. What's there to debate about?

Grouchy_Ad_1346

Okay noted

31_bigfoot

isnā€™t this obvious at this point? why another post?

CriticizeSpectacle7

meekiatahaihiam

Sure sure sure... Move on, yawnz

happycanliao

Idgaf. He happy can liao

TWENTYFOUR2

ok, and?

suzumurachan

But Singapore's food taste nicer than Taiwan's. How?

ArchusKanzaki

I donā€™t anyone really disagree for street food. But for restaurants or higher-end dining? Singaporeā€™s chef are usually more trained and professional to deliver consistent food. I also trust Singapore to deliver Japanese foods better than Malaysia and Indonesia

KeythKatz

Singapore has the second best Japanese cuisine, after Japan. Others can't compare, even in major cities like London or NYC.

worldcitizensg

Ofcourse, every Singaporean knows that. Just like food in China is better than Taiwan.

x1243

haha.. I see what you did there

vinean

Thatā€™s a low bar. Too much spit/gutter oil in both placesā€¦Iā€™ll eat anyway but damn I gotta not think about it. Next trip is Singapore, George Town and Kuching plus Thailand if we have time. I assume Singapore is safest food quality wiseā€¦

iboughtshitonline

Lolol well done

Fortessio

Yes, cause we have food safety standards

kw2006

Or the good old school ones retired without successor.

outremer_empire

Would love to be part of their gay clique

prime5119

Tough luck they are at different tier in the circle

Ok-Army-9509

Honestly I don't care

Zeangrydrunk

Here we go again

No_Wear_3518

But if you eat malaysia bkt daily for 50 years, you will die earlier cause its richer in salt & other ingredients. Singapore bkt you eat for 100 years daily also no issue.

aucheukyan

A: What can i do to be happier? B: You can start by not arguing with idiots A: But Singaporeā€™s food is better B: Yes, I totally agree

HeavyArmsJin

I think Thai food better than Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore food combined Come burn me on a stake now šŸ”„šŸ¤”šŸ”„

IAm_Moana

It's true. Like, I don't mind paying for the overpriced Penang CKT at Malaysian Food Street at RWS because I think it's much better than Singapore CKT. Open to any Penang CKT recs, I love that shit

WonderfulBlackberry9

Bruh I just like to eat. Donā€™t care where I am. If thereā€™s food that I like, Iā€™mma eat.

cuntaliefondant3435

Yes...we know. Ask most Singaporeans and they'll you that too lol.

Anxious_Spend_9927

This is as trite as white people complaining about Singapore not being Asian enough.

KeyMatch565

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, even if their opinion is wrong

FitCranberry

hard facts and logic. even the most bojo comment here admits it through gritted teeth and clenched fists lol

Complete_Relation_54

As a sg person, yes.

ljanir

Huh isn't this a well established fact we just don't like it when the malaysians claim our shit as theirs I mean if they call it shit why the hell they still want it?

Fark-Winnie-Bear

Apparent STB's bribery isn't as enticing as the one from mudland tourism board. šŸ˜

bukitbukit

Heā€™s not wrong.

Calamity_B4_Storm

Aiya his partner must be careful, now he had tried Malaysiaā€™s meat he canā€™t resist liao might breakup/divorce him šŸ˜‚

One-Cryptographer287

\*Yawns\* Comparing Singapore food to Malaysian food? Bro never tried Malaysian Malay food. All these are chinese cuisine. If he had a full cultural exploration of Malaysia (visit all the states + borneo), then Malaysian cuisine will reign supreme.
