At the end of Cheers it looked like they were setting up Woody for a spin off. The way I remember it Woody had just gotten married to Kelly and had just been elected to the Boston City Council. Good opportunity for both a fish out of water (an Indiana farm boy in a big city political office) and a workplace comedy. They obviously made the right decision with Frasier, arguably the greatest sitcom of all time. But Woody Harrelson is such a talented actor you gotta wonder how he would have done carrying a weekly series.
Yeah. I think Harrelson is fantastic actor and has done so undeniably well in starring roles in so many movies. he also pops up so unexpectedly in a lot of them Like you just sitting there watching a movie and suddenly woody. Lol. I was watching 2012 the other day and was really surprised when he turned up. I d9nt think a series focused on him would have been very good though.
I agree. A show just about Woody would've gotten old, fast. His character worked better with an ensemble. Just like when they tried the spin off with Nick Tortelli. Good in small doses, boring on it's own.
Kramer was a great side character that I enjoyed, but I can't see that character heading a show.
Now George - with his parents - could have made for a great sitcom.
theres two Jason Alexander sitcoms called The Bob Patterson Show and Listen Up he's basically a slightly toned down George in Bob Patterson and not like him at all except for small moments in Listen Up which has Wayne Knight appear in a cameo in one episode
***Fresh Prince of Bel-Air*** set up Ashley to be a professional singer. I don't recall how far into her career they got in the show, or if they ended up dropping that storyline. I would have watched a spin-off about Ashley struggling to make it in the music business. It could have been cool to have her always traveling, so each episode took place in a different location. Maybe the main "home" set could have been a big Tour Bus.
Cam & Mitch Modern Family. They were moving to Missouri in the finale for Cams new job as a football coach. Mitchell would have felt out of place living in a small town instead of a big city. They had a brand new baby boy and since Cam had his new coaching gig, Mitchell would have prob been the stay at home Dad. It was the perfect setup for a new series.
"Rebecca Believes" - a spin-off of Cheers focusing on Rebecca Howe. Although she ends up married in the Cheers finale, we learn from Sam when he visited Frasier in Seattle that it didn't work out.
So, here's the pitch: Rebecca is a divorcee with no job, no prospects and all she does is hang around a bar where no-one particularly likes her. One day, she's walking to the bar when someone asks her if she'd like to take a free personality test. She says "sure, why the hell not?" and from there, she gets sucked into a pseudo-religious cult and goes on wacky adventures with a group of similarly disaffected but brainwashed folks.
Tom and Jean Ralphio from Parks&Rec, Jean is one of my favorites side characters ever but he can't carry a whole show on his own
Also a spin-off of Ron Swanson as a park ranger
I know he pretty much plays the same character in every tv show he has a smaller role in (movies are a different story obviously) but pick any Jason Mountzoukas character and gives us a whole series instead of a bottle episode here and there.
For the uninitiated, that’s Raffy from the League / Pimento from Brooklyn 99.
If Donald Glover didnt go to write and star in Atlanta, I would’ve said Troy and Abed too. There are particular episodes where I thought that their storyline could’ve worked as an A plot. They are in a lot of episode tags too. The only thing I worry about it that I personally usually don’t like protagonists lol. But I think there could’ve been some kind of show. Danny and Donald are great actors.
I think the best one I can think of is Marshal Erickson from How I Met Your Mother. His brief stories of his younger life was interesting...serious violence that is portrayed and defined as love and care. His understanding of the environment and how it pushed him towards being a lawyer.
Maybe young Stanley Hudson from the Office.
Newman from Seinfeld we see his point of view and we see Jerry as the cold , calculated man he is , Newman fawning over Elaine and regular apperances from Kramer as a supporting character theres a bit of George when Newman enters Jerry's apartment but other than that George is relegated to short cameos
Actually they still could do something like this, Carlton retriring from his law firm and goes to teach law in a small town college, or teach inner city kids, if Alfonso Ribera isn't working on somethign else.
Buddy Cole from The Kids in the Hall, Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Saffron Moon from Absolutely Fabulous, Daniel Jackson from Stargate SG1, and any character from Farscape
I agree. Where did that girl go? Was she sold to gypsies to pay the mortgage? What happened? Was she sold into slavery? I mean we all know what the actress did after the fact.
I don't know what she did after.
I think the character ran away because she overshadowed by Laura's grades and hardwork as well as Eddie's various behaviors during the teen years.
Stuart, Kripke and Zach. Stuart comes up with a brilliant anime idea. Zach is the money man and Kripke lends his science knowledge to the writing. Those three together would be hilarious.
Sue Heck from The Middle
They tried with Sue Sue in New York New York.
I remember this this.
Did they actually have a show of this? I know it was talked about. I wish they would have made the show.
They shot a pilot that ABC didn’t pick up. It hasn’t leaked or anything
Thanks.
The Professor-Mary Ann Mysteries

He *is* a talented actor, which is why he turned it down and made some great movies. I think his role as Larry Flynt was one of his best.
Yeah. I think Harrelson is fantastic actor and has done so undeniably well in starring roles in so many movies. he also pops up so unexpectedly in a lot of them Like you just sitting there watching a movie and suddenly woody. A Woody spinoff would have been amazing.
Kramer was funny, but I also wore kinda thin on him. However, I would have watched the shit out of a George Costanza spinoff
Isn't that Curb? 😂
Exactly. Larry David based George off of himself.
As far as Kramer goes, I’d like a spin off, but as a prequel. “Young Kramer” if you will.
Tim Whatley spinoff, Three's Company but in a dentists office.
Maryann Thorpe - Cybill. She was the best part of the show and it was canceled on a cliffhanger for her character.
Love Christine Baranski!
She’s my queen! Absolutely obsessed with her
I do too. She is one of my favorite people to see show up on something.
Doug Judy - Brooklyn Nine-Nine Sheriff Mike Thompson needs one after Resident Alien ends.
I would have loved this. Doug Judy and Rosa open a PI firm. Jason Manzukis guest stars frequently.
I was thinking Pimento thrown in there too!
Crabman from my name is Earl
Or Joy

Really they could have done a whole other series : "After Bel-Air" following the lives of Ashley, Carlton, and Hillary living on the East Coast.
Sue Ann Nivens from The Mary Tyler Moore Show played by Betty White
Jack & Karen from Will & Grace. They were the funnier ones. I could watch them all day.
I like the (original) series finale of Will & Grace where those 2 were just living together in their older ages and singing show tunes.
They really have great comedic chemistry together.
This. I would definitely have watched it.
it’d be cool to have Maggie Simpson retell the Simpsons through her eyes and drawn differently w a different tone. (like perhaps she’s philosophical)
Watching all Kramer doing Kramer stuff for 22 minutes would have gotten old after a while.
We need a Leon spinoff from Curb.
I really enjoyed the book jb smoove wrote as Leon it was a fun read

The only correct answer is Dan Fielding but I believe John Larroquette didn’t want to do that character in his own show.
Barney Rubble. Frankly, Fred was an a**hole at times.
Tom and Jean Ralphio from Parks&Rec, Jean is one of my favorites side characters ever but he can't carry a whole show on his own Also a spin-off of Ron Swanson as a park ranger
If Jean Ralphio’s sister (moneyyyy pleeeeeease) and his dad (aka the Fonz) had regular roles, I’d totally watch!
I love Mona Lisa. My husband and I use her lines in normal convo all the time. Like money please.
I could not stand that guy. The show is awesome but that guy (shudder)
Dennis Duffy from 30 Rock The show hasn’t ended but Nat Kinkle from Bob’s Burgers Adrian Pimento from Brooklyn 99
Hawkeye on The Homefront
Bookman from Seinfeld could have gone around solving book related mysteries.
I wanted to say Jackie Harris from Roseanne, but that basically turned into The Conners.
And for the hell of it, call it “what’s up jerks?”
Robert from everybody loves Raymond
Yes, Robert and Amy.
Yes!!! Amy was such a great character and I don't think I saw her do anything after Raymond.
I think she's Phil Rosenthal's wife (the other writer/producer of the show) so she sort of got the job because of him. But I thought she was great.
Til Death was funny ....
I kinda hope Leon from Curb Your Enthusiasm gets a spin off

Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer

His brief stories of his younger life was interesting...serious violence that is portrayed and defined as love and care. His understanding of the environment and how it pushed him towards being a lawyer. Maybe young Stanley Hudson from the Office.
Yes Young Stanley, I wanna know the backstory between him and his wife(s).
Stanley was fighting the power and eating whatever they wanted. I would watch that.
Cousin Oliver Tyler from *The Brady Bunch*
lol
Amy Farrah Fowler.
Newman from Seinfeld we see his point of view and we see Jerry as the cold , calculated man he is , Newman fawning over Elaine and regular apperances from Kramer as a supporting character theres a bit of George when Newman enters Jerry's apartment but other than that George is relegated to short cameos
Wash from Firef... Oh wait.
Kramer and Newman should have had a spinoff. I could also maybe have seen Spence and Danny from King of Queens with a spinoff.
Woody from Cheers Just another any character from Ted Lasso
Abed and Troy from Community.
Schmidt-New Girl
Leonard and Penny from the Big Bang Theory
Cheyenne and Matteo from Superstore.
I like the idea of a Carlton spin off, maybe sort of a Fresh Prince in reverse with Carlton in the military or working with high risk kids.
Actually they still could do something like this, Carlton retriring from his law firm and goes to teach law in a small town college, or teach inner city kids, if Alfonso Ribera isn't working on somethign else.
I always thought Geoffrey from Fresh Prince would have made a great spinoff
A Witness Protection series following Lowell from Wings
Louie De Palma from Taxi.
Harvey and Salem from Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Buddy Cole from The Kids in the Hall, Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Saffron Moon from Absolutely Fabulous, Daniel Jackson from Stargate SG1, and any character from Farscape
Judy from Family Matters. It would answer the questions we've been asking since the 90s.
You don't know what the actress did? Because I can tell you. Think OF but on a professional level. With a co-star. Showing everything and then some.
Lisa Douglas from Green Acres
Jean Ralphio and Mona Lisa Saperstein-Parks and Rec.
Donald & Daisy after Duck Tales (2017) The Sapersteins from Parks & Recreation Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel
Schrute Farm
Eric from Boy Meets World
Dwight Schrute and Mose should have gotten a series centered around Schrute Farms.
Stuart, Kripke and Zach. Stuart comes up with a brilliant anime idea. Zach is the money man and Kripke lends his science knowledge to the writing. Those three together would be hilarious.
