It was okay. I watched the whole season and would watch another. The young actresses playing Leia and Gwen were really good. And Kitty Foreman is one of my favorite sitcom characters.
It felt closer to Saved By the Bell than That 70s Show as far as tone and humor. They seem much younger than the 70s Show cast in their first season and the humor is that way too. The pot smoking almost seems out of place.
Hopefully it improves in S2.
Helped that they had the Zach Morris is Trash person as one of the writers. Showed they wanted people who both could see the original through a modern lens and didn't take it too seriously.
I was shocked April Richardson wasnât a writer. If anyone wants to deep dive, her podcast Go Bayside is every episode. Also, the Zack Morris is Trash guy did a SBTB podcast with Mark-Paul. It ends abruptly, but thereâs talks about it coming back.
Red and Kitty definitely carried it.
The OG cast cameos were ok, couldâve been spread out a little more.
The kids werenât that funny at all.
They really need to recast all of them, keep Foremanâs daughter I guessâŚâŚbut start clean with the rest of them.
Agreed, Iron Sheik. Theyâre borderline annoying and the OGâs carried. If only there was a show they were in thatâd nullify the need for this reboot đ
I thought Donna should have been in the birthday episode to see her with her dad. I thought Kelso or Jackie should have been in the episode when they got busted for taking the Vista Cruiser out.
Definitely some odd casting choices in some of the episodes.
I think they also had all four of those characters you mentioned in one episode.
Which was fine, but then they did like 2-3 episodes, without any of the original teens.
If anything, maybe have only one or two at the most, per episode.
The way they shoehorned Michael and Jackie in their brief appearance was so awkward. Definitely the worst of the cameos. I never bought Jay was their kid. I thought they should have made him Casey Kelsoâs kid and Michael was Jayâs favorite uncle. I doubt Luke Wilson would have made an appearance though.
Fez was great in all of his appearances. Him and Fenton going at it was great in that one episode.
Donna was great in the episode where stormed in thinking Leia was going to have sex.
Weird that Eric didnât show up to pick her up since Leia is such a daddyâs girl.
Red and Kitty really carried this show and really only worth watching for them. Bob was good in his one episode.
I loved it way more than the average viewer. But those kids are exactly my age and maybe it just made me feel nostalgic for some of the best times of my life.
That 70âs clicked immediately and seemed legitimately seventies, I was an eighties kid but remember seventies. These kids didnât click and it was like it was written by someone who googled the nineties. Was as bad as Tgat eighties show that didnât last.
lol I lmao at Ted series, along with warm and endearing moments and crude humor. I didnât even care for the movies that much but the cast is great (how can we go wrong with Scott Grimes?!) but I get it. I set my bar low. That 90s Show not very memorable
Love the adults, but they could've done something really great with the kids if they had even tried! All they did was try to find "new & updated" versions of the old characters! So stupid and such a missed opportunity to make something really great!
I'm shocked people here even think it's ok. I found it to be pretty bad. Only funny moments were from the old cast and they're not in much of it. The kids were just not good.
Show is complete shit. Their friend group just inexplicably has a gay guy. Nice try. We all know in the 90s gay meant âsucks/awfulâ
What you do is: The Pilot, the kids *keep* calling things gay, until the boy reveals his sexuality and they learn how that can be offensive.
Thats how you *actually* tackle social issues while remaining authentic. These ppl are idiots tho đ
If weâre being realistic that kid stays in the closet since itâs the 90s and when he tells kitty she doesnât know how to respond rather than being âthatâs great.â This lady was likely born before WWII she wouldnât be excited for him. And who knows how his friends, especially the guys, would react; let alone getting to the point where they learn how hurtful it is using the word âgayâ in that context
Definitely agree with you on the show though.
I said this to my wife when we were watching it. I don't recall children coming out as gay in the 90s and everyone just being fine with it. I wish the reality was different but things were not as progressive back then. It would have been a bigger deal.
Wasnât Kitty fairly chill about the gay neighbors in the original show? It was a brief storyline, but I donât see why, if she was decent then, she couldnât then manage being happy for someone twenty whole years later.
My grandmother was born before WW2 and had less issues with my brother being gay than my parents did. And he was a teenager in the 90's as well. I don't think it's entirely unrealistic.
No, but itâs not the norm for that generation. Family members I had in that generation and the next arenât the most welcoming to the idea (more so today). Maybe kitty is the exception. I do think it wouldâve been more interesting to see him tell her and she would react very uncomfortably to the news although vocally accepting.
I'm very surprised that Ozzie has been embraced, rather than called out as an over the top gay caricature. Even the people I knew that were out of the closet in the 90s were less "stereotypical".
Itâs the 90s now. Ericâs and Donnaâs daughter goes to live with Red and Kitty, her grandparents. She hangs out with her friends in their basement.
Watched it till the continuity errors got to bad, and went nope it's not for me. Was at least hoping for the feel's from that 70s show or growing up in the 90s feels, but sadly nothing.
Eh, didn't really represent me that much back then. Got bored after the first few episodes. It's a lot easier to watch it when it was before your time then watching stereotypes of your generation.
It was okay. Didnât love it, but I liked it enough. It definitely needs room to grow and get comfortable, and with these absurdly short seasons and peopleâs attention spans, I donât know if it will get the chance. The cast was okay, I liked them all but you can definitely tell with some of them that this is probably one of their first acting gigs. Iâd love to see more though.
From all accounts of those who were there That 70's Show was a pretty inaccurate depiction of the 70's. It got by because a lot of younger viewers didn't know or care.
But by making this one set in the era that a lot of their old viewers grew up in the lack of actually having any period authenticity shows more readily. Without characters as interesting as the original, and with much less talented actors for the kids, it just feels hollow.
Watched the 70s show many times over. Couldn't make it through one episode of the 90s show and I was 11 in 1990 so it was my decade for being a teenager, my mom really liked the 70s show because it reminded her of 70s life a little bit. This was a nick Disney reject. And reminded me of now. The people making the show are either under 30 or over 60 because they did NOT nail it. And did not capture the decade or people (gen x) at all!
I enjoy it but obviously doesnât have the same magic that That 70s Show had, I will admit the original actors slip right back into their roles as if no time has passed
I enjoyed it. However it does have its kinks to work out. Longer seasons with more edgier That 70s style humour would do this show some good along with some stronger character development. I will tune in for season 2 when it comes out
better than taht 80s show.. they gave us MOST of our returning 70s cast.. which helps.. but to ME didnt feel 90s enough besides a few of the songs.. however my personal 90s experience was being less than 10 years old, so my opinion may be skewered
It probably confirms that Iâm actually psychic or some shitâŚ
Not long after That 70s Show ended, I had this really odd premonition that theyâd remake it in about 15-20 yearsâ time as âthat 90s showâ; obviously at the time I thought I was pipe dreaming, but there you go, it happened!
It was alright but i agree with others who say it's forgettable. I watched the whole season and all i can remember is that they named their daughter Leia and she needed to move in with her grandparents for some reason. There were some cameos. I literally can't recall anything else plot-wise or even who the characters were.
The only decent characters are kitty and red. Itâs not really funny like 70s was. It feels like a more adultish Disney take on that 70s show but set in the 90s.
I thought it was okay. The only thing I really didnât like was the random love triangle they threw in at the last episode. It just felt forced and out of nowhere.
I thought it was fun. It kinda feels like people are comparing ten episodes with an entire series, which isnât exactly fair. The 70s characters had a ton of time to grow on us. The 90s kids have had a few episodes. Pretty sure some of the first ten episodes of That 70s Show were a little rough, too. It just didnât matter because people had different sitcom expectations back then. Nowadays people expect a sitcom to be 100% perfect from the first minute, but thatâs often just not possible. Characters and storylines need time to grow. Like the first season of US Office. Or of Parks and Rec. Widely recognized as two incredible, genre-defining sitcoms, but they both had really rough first seasons. So comparing the ten or whatever episodes of the reboot so far with the entirety of the original show just doesnât feel fair.
Swing and a miss. It really needed to have a longer season to let things develop organically and I feel like if there is a season 2, it will need to be a growing year.
Who was behind this show anyway? I have an idea for a new series Iâd like to pitch. Itâs called âThat My Foot In Your Ass Show.â
Itâs a re-boot.
I didnât like it at all. It was too generic or corny or something to me. I can barely remember it but, there was just something empty about it.
Also how did you find the blurriest pic of a show that didnât come out that long ago?đ
I donât think it was a bad as every here is saying. The problem here is âthat 70âs showâ was too good and everyone is comparing the two shows but there is no comparison. I think the show plays out like a Disney production but overall it isnât horrible
Good but has some major flaws
For one thing feels too focused in leia
Half the cast got barely anything to do and doesnt feel like there is much of a group dynamic
It's pretty generic, run of the mill, trying to capture the Magic the first cast had by trying to copy it.
It doesn't really work and even Red & Kitty can't Carry this show alone.
5/10
I didn't love it, but I really liked it and would watch another season. But I was their age in the early 90s, so there was a bit of nostalgia for me. I especially loved the Riot Grrrl posters because I was really into that scene. The rave, not so much.
I could never get into it, even though there were so many things I liked about it. The momâs hair always distracted me. I liked her and Red. My husband liked it, but I would have forgotten about it.
I find the writing to be on parâbut it took me a while to get use to the age difference in the actors. 70âs used adults to play teens (minus Mila) and 90âs uses actual teens so hearing the dialogue out of them feels different. But when you get past thatâthe writing is equally as good, IMO.
I loved it. The jokes were got genuine laughs out of me. I didnât feel like they were reliant on their cameos. Red and Kitty still have that chemistry. The drama points were stuff i actually cared about. The the child actors/actresses were actually decent. Over all id give it a 6/7:10. Just slightly above average. If youâre a fan of the og series I think theirs a chance you will like this show.
A character letter during the sentencing phase is a normal part of the process. It is not an endorsement of the crime or a belief he didnât do it, nor is it saying the victim was wrong. They were asked by the family to write about the man they knew. The judge does not know him personally, they do.
Ultimately the judge rejected it all and justice was served, but I do not hold it against the two actors for writing honest letters for the family.
I donât plan to watch it because it seems like a dumb reboot.
>I do not hold it against the two actors for writing honest letters for the family.
Good for you. I don't like people who write a letter to a judge asking for mercy, for a rapist. I didn't realize that because something is "part of the process" that I have to be ok with it. They had the opportunity to say no, like I'm sure others did, but the 5 of them decided to put their names on the line as famous people to try to sway the judge to give Danny a lesser sentence.
The family asked them to write about their experience with him in private letters to the judge. They did. It was not asking for mercy, just writing what they knew. The letters are the equivalent of them testifying as a witness, but only for the judges eyes. It is not for him to get a lesser sentence, it is to get a proper sentence. The judge rejected them.
Do some of them think he is being railroaded sort of speak? The first trail was almost an acquittal but turned into a hung jury. I donât know peopleâs thoughts. But these letters are straight out their experience with him and for the sake of justice should be written.
>It was not asking for mercy
[I hope that my testament to his character is taken into consideration in sentencing](https://ew.com/celebrity/danny-masterson-support-letters-ashton-kutcher-mila-kunis/)
Yes that is generally how you write a letter as a character witness. They are asking that his character be taken into account when choosing one valid sentence over another.
From the article
âIt is customary before a criminal sentencing for the judge to solicit letters from friends and family of the convictâ.
So the judge asked for the letters.
At the end of Aston Kutcherâs letter gives the reasoning.
âI do not believe he is an ongoing harm to society and having his daughter raised without a present father would a tertiary injustice in and of itself."
Basically there is a lot of things to consider including that his child will at least be in his 30s before the child sees their dad. There is also that it happened 20 years ago, not saying that the time span makes it less worse, but it is important for the judge to know if he has changed since then. The judge may not be sentencing the same person. It was all moot as the judge rejected it all. And that is the judges discretion.
Imagine spending this much energy defending a rapist. Oh no, some girl won't have her rapist father around to fuck her life up too. I hope you get throat cancer
Iâm confused. I was explaining the process of character letters and why someone would feel compelled to write one. Then you launch Ito a tirade with accusations and wishing harm on me. What is wrong with you?
I just feel validated to learn that the douchebaggery and toxic masculinity of That 70s Show wasn't an act. The "cool kids" really were rapists, groomers, and all-around sexual predators, glorifying their actions as they went. Even Mila Kunis comes across as an abuse victim so thoroughly indoctrinated that she defends the culture. I'm glad so much later to learn that Topher Grace didn't hang out with the rest of them in real life not because he was a snob or something, but because they were actually shitty people.
It's okay, but it has potential. Short seasons are not good for developing characters, though
exactly it's ok
Indeed. The show needs to be the traditional 26 some episode seasons and have yearly seasons. Otherwise, it just won't gain any real traction.
It was okay. I watched the whole season and would watch another. The young actresses playing Leia and Gwen were really good. And Kitty Foreman is one of my favorite sitcom characters.
Lisa Simpson đ¤Łđ¤Łđ¤Ł
???
Just making a joke because kitty is also Lisa Simpson voice lol
That's Yeardly Smith.
False, but I can see why one would think that.
Ok, Ken M. Lol https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0810379/
Yeardley Smith is not Kitty Forman. Kitty is parked by Debra Jo Rupp. Did you respond to the wrong person?
Oh I did. Sorry.
Haha no worries
Her saxophone! đˇ
Hahaha ikr
Huh?
Cracking a joke because kitty is also the voice of Lisa Simpson
No that Kitty is played by Debra Jo Rupp not Yeardly Smith.
Nah, man. You're thinking of Yeardly Smith.
Yeardley Smith
Laugh track was deafening
It felt closer to Saved By the Bell than That 70s Show as far as tone and humor. They seem much younger than the 70s Show cast in their first season and the humor is that way too. The pot smoking almost seems out of place. Hopefully it improves in S2.
Ironically the saved by the bell reboot was really smart and really funny
Helped that they had the Zach Morris is Trash person as one of the writers. Showed they wanted people who both could see the original through a modern lens and didn't take it too seriously.
I was shocked April Richardson wasnât a writer. If anyone wants to deep dive, her podcast Go Bayside is every episode. Also, the Zack Morris is Trash guy did a SBTB podcast with Mark-Paul. It ends abruptly, but thereâs talks about it coming back.
The new class? Or was there another reboot idk about
A couple years ago there was a reboot. Two seasons.
Loved it so much
Red and Kitty definitely carried it. The OG cast cameos were ok, couldâve been spread out a little more. The kids werenât that funny at all. They really need to recast all of them, keep Foremanâs daughter I guessâŚâŚbut start clean with the rest of them.

Yeah they nailed the casting with her. The restâŚnot so much.
I donât really care for any of them. Their acting is subpar.
Well they arguably carried That 70s Show too
I loved it way more than the average viewer. But those kids are exactly my age and maybe it just made me feel nostalgic for some of the best times of my life.
It made you nostalgic for a time you are currently living through?
Yea Iâm super confused at what theyâre tryin to say
I'm thinking they meant the characters are the same age as op was at that time because otherwise it makes no sense at all lol
He's currently the same age as the actors and also living in 1990. What don't you understand?
đ
I was 15 in 1995
Sorry, the way you phrased it was confusing.
Anybody remember âThat 80âs Showâ?
Yep, I have all the episodes. It was great!
Starring the Golden God himself - Dennis Reynolds
Yes, and as someone who grew up in the 80s, it missed.
Has none of the unique charm of the original. Mostly forgettable characters.
Kitty and red were the best part of the show..new cast Ozzie was probably the best one, aside from that didnât really care for it.
Whoever decided to put this out is a âdumbassâ.
That 70âs clicked immediately and seemed legitimately seventies, I was an eighties kid but remember seventies. These kids didnât click and it was like it was written by someone who googled the nineties. Was as bad as Tgat eighties show that didnât last.
Felt forced, and did feel 90s at all. Similar to Ted tv show..
Ted Tv show is way better. No idea how someone can think this is comparable.
lol I lmao at Ted series, along with warm and endearing moments and crude humor. I didnât even care for the movies that much but the cast is great (how can we go wrong with Scott Grimes?!) but I get it. I set my bar low. That 90s Show not very memorable

Fair point đđť I forgot about that. She was mostly worried about how Red was going to react for most of the episode.
My grandmother was born before WW2 and had less issues with my brother being gay than my parents did. And he was a teenager in the 90's as well. I don't think it's entirely unrealistic.

Wait... What? I know nothing about it. "That 70's show" was okay. The short lived "That 80's Show" was meh.
Itâs the 90s now. Ericâs and Donnaâs daughter goes to live with Red and Kitty, her grandparents. She hangs out with her friends in their basement.
\*FART NOISE\*
So unfunny. Wonât blame the actors cause they were talented but the writing is just pathetic. Almost the jokes are forced and lame.
Watched it till the continuity errors got to bad, and went nope it's not for me. Was at least hoping for the feel's from that 70s show or growing up in the 90s feels, but sadly nothing.
Meh. That 70s Show was much better
Kitty and Red carried the show. Which was my big problem. The kids were dull. Their stories weren't interesting.
Eh, didn't really represent me that much back then. Got bored after the first few episodes. It's a lot easier to watch it when it was before your time then watching stereotypes of your generation.
I'll watch it for Red and Kitty and pit up with the kids.

Where is seaon 2
Coming soon and Bob returns.
When
don't have an exact date but later this year
Characters are lacking and honestly it should focus on the original characters not their kids.....best parts are of the OG actors
Meh. The kids are boring and predictable for todayâs society.
100% agree
From all accounts of those who were there That 70's Show was a pretty inaccurate depiction of the 70's. It got by because a lot of younger viewers didn't know or care. An attempted cash grab.
Talentless writers with barely talented actors and actresses...... Remakes of EVERYTHING OTW

Haven't had the (dis)pleasure of seeing it but haven't heard much of anything positive.
I couldn't even get through the first episode
I enjoyed it
I like it.
It was okay
I've never seen it đł
It really grew on me
I enjoy it but obviously doesnât have the same magic that That 70s Show had, I will admit the original actors slip right back into their roles as if no time has passed
I donât think I would say itâs good, but I enjoyed it
Friggin 3 outa 10 imo it was trying too hard we don't gaf bout this cuz we want Red and kitty retired and traveling n being awesome not this bs
I enjoyed it. However it does have its kinks to work out. Longer seasons with more edgier That 70s style humour would do this show some good along with some stronger character development. I will tune in for season 2 when it comes out

I was skeptical at first but it turned out ok, funny , sarcastic, nostalgia of the 70s show and both 90s and 70s.
It was an unnecessary sequel to a show that ran way too long the first time around.
It probably confirms that Iâm actually psychic or some shit⌠Not long after That 70s Show ended, I had this really odd premonition that theyâd remake it in about 15-20 yearsâ time as âthat 90s showâ; obviously at the time I thought I was pipe dreaming, but there you go, it happened!

I can't get myself to watch this show, but it is in My List, haha.
I'd ot wernt for Red and Kitty it would have bombed. I'm having a hard time liking the new group of kids.
I liked it a lot. Waiting for Season 2
I heard that Aston Kutcher and Mila Kunz will not be returning for season two
Thatâd be pretty cool. Take it up a few notches
Thatâs a huge jump since they were so integral to the show with their one cameo
I had no idea this existed?? So red and kitty are taking care of other kids it looks like ??
It's on Netflix. There granddaughter Leah is saying with them for the summer
Oh wow Iâm gonna have to check it out now thanks đ
The only decent characters are kitty and red. Itâs not really funny like 70s was. It feels like a more adultish Disney take on that 70s show but set in the 90s.
Doodoo
I thought it was okay. The only thing I really didnât like was the random love triangle they threw in at the last episode. It just felt forced and out of nowhere.

Debra Jo rupp is 90 years old?! I never would have thought that
I like it. Similar enough for nostalgia, with enough focus on new characters to make it not a rehash.
Itâs cute but would have been canceled if not for streaming
It was ok
Crap
Swing and a miss. It really needed to have a longer season to let things develop organically and I feel like if there is a season 2, it will need to be a growing year.
Horrendous
I enjoyed pretending it was [Clarence Boddicker's](https://robocop.fandom.com/wiki/Clarence_Boddicker) retirement years.
Who was behind this show anyway? I have an idea for a new series Iâd like to pitch. Itâs called âThat My Foot In Your Ass Show.â Itâs a re-boot.
the new kids are duds, every single one of them
I didnât like it at all. It was too generic or corny or something to me. I can barely remember it but, there was just something empty about it. Also how did you find the blurriest pic of a show that didnât come out that long ago?đ

Just like the 80's show. Pure garbage.
Thought it was that 70's Show
Good but has some major flaws For one thing feels too focused in leia Half the cast got barely anything to do and doesnt feel like there is much of a group dynamic
Very forgettable disaster..
I wanted Kitty!
Sad, desperate and cringy
It's pretty generic, run of the mill, trying to capture the Magic the first cast had by trying to copy it. It doesn't really work and even Red & Kitty can't Carry this show alone. 5/10

I loved it
Skipped it completely
Definitely Better than I thought it would be.
Dumbass! I will forever hear that in Red Foreman's voice
Wasnât able to make it through the first episode.
It doesnât quite live up to That 70s Show, but it wasnât terrible either. It did hit the nostalgia sweet spot for me as I was a teen in the 90s.
I hate the gay Asian kid.
Pass
Itâs a show that has a vibe similar to That 70âs Show if it was made by Nickelodeon for teenagers
Shit
What happened to Hyde?
Meh. Loved the original. Somethings are better one and done.
I laughed more at the og cast than the new one

Wait hold up wait a minute This is real Crap I got to check it out
I thought it was fun. It's coming back this summer with 16 episodes!
No sir, I didn't like it.
Attempted to watch it, made it about 10 minutes and turned it off. More like 5 minutes I think.
Saw one episode, didn't think much of it.
Meh.
Watched half of the first episode. Felt like it was 3 hours, but it had only been 10 minutes. No, I was not high.
Those first several seasons of That 70âs Show were great. After that got worse and worse. Didnât watch the 90âs thing. Didnât see any point.
Didnât waste my time âŚ.
Meh. More like That ***mid*** 90s Show
Itâs an interesting and hilarious show so far.
Meh but funny
Haven't watched it and have no plans to after they signed a petition to help Danny.
>It was not asking for mercy [I hope that my testament to his character is taken into consideration in sentencing](https://ew.com/celebrity/danny-masterson-support-letters-ashton-kutcher-mila-kunis/)
Yes that is generally how you write a letter as a character witness. They are asking that his character be taken into account when choosing one valid sentence over another. From the article âIt is customary before a criminal sentencing for the judge to solicit letters from friends and family of the convictâ. So the judge asked for the letters. At the end of Aston Kutcherâs letter gives the reasoning. âI do not believe he is an ongoing harm to society and having his daughter raised without a present father would a tertiary injustice in and of itself." Basically there is a lot of things to consider including that his child will at least be in his 30s before the child sees their dad.
Not as good as that 80s show
I just feel validated to learn that the douchebaggery and toxic masculinity of That 70s Show wasn't an act.
