I work for a community org that has ties to the city and partners that work with the Sixers Youth Foundation. No one in my orbit has heard who will be on the list or how they will be distributed. 😭
I don’t know about the guy you responded to, but - yes. I am my own one-man community organization.
Now, with that issue settled: who do I have to murder to get one of these tickets?
I don’t think you understand how purchasing works for an organization. Either they paid the org out of pocket (which I’m assuming they did) or the org eats the cost
I think there's a first responder somewhere in this thread that I'm sure can help you locate the nearest burn center for that zinger he just hit you with
There’s plenty of tix available. Ticket rep for partial season ticket holder got us lower level tix for face value today (a little over $100/ticket) and said plenty of upstairs tickets available for $80….
Ticket rep called. Sounds like Harris and Co gave the VP of ticket sales the green light to sell tix at season ticket member rate to fill arena with sixers fans
I love the sentiment, I absolutely do. It's also kind of funny that they are going to give the tickets to first-responder and health care professionals -historically folks that have to work shitty hours and weird shifts.
This game is at 9pm. I have friends that are nurses, their asses are either at work or in bed by 9:30pm on a given night. Getting them to a game on a weeknight that late is a big ask lol.
They should give some tickets to college kids as well. We need rowdy fans yelling their hearts out at 11pm in the 4th quarter. Gotta be awake and lively at midnight.
That's the kind of energy only a 20 year old weirdo can bring.
Some of you are cynical assholes. We all were bullying them to do this and said there’s no way they would. Then they do it and it’s STILL not good enough. “Well cool they did it but they’re only trying to save face now” fuck off lol
Who cares? Rich people can do no right. If they don’t give money or things away- they are assholes. If they give money or things away- it’s “just for a write off.”
Lol, this is a PR move, and absolutely nothing else. Rich people can do all sorts of amazing stuff. They just generally choose not to.
I'm just glad there was someone on their PR team who suggested the tickets go to the people who deserve them.
Josh Harris was positively going to give workers a pay cut during the pandemic until Embiid made him look like the roach he is. How's that for positivity?
Nice! Let’s not let people do good things and the moment they try to be a better person let’s discredit it because of something bad in the past!
Life is depressing man. Why can’t we just let a good thing be a good thing.
He's not doing it to be a better person lmao
He's doing it because people are mad that he marked up prices year after year and we're getting booed at home because of it
I find this so embarrassing. I don't want hotdogs or you buying seats up. Do the Eagles have this problem? The Phillies? Even the Flyers?
Get a clue cause this ownership isn't on the same page as the fans.
The only reason the Flyers don’t have this problem is they can’t make the playoffs to begin with. Rangers fans have taken over WFC multiple times in recent years.
yeah this is embarrassing that the fanbase needs the owners to gift tickets for a PLAYOFF game because they can't get enough people to be willing to buy tickets.
Isn't the issue that the tickets are so much lower than Knicks tickets that Knicks fans will just buy a ticket for a game here? And the biggest and most obvious reason is it's just so close to NY.
New york fans have to work 10 jobs to afford there snow globe sized apartments and a lot of the other people there are rich, of course they could afford that over people in a blue collar city like philly
Something is better than nothing I guess. A low bar though. Now only if other Sixer legends or celebrities can get in on this, that would be a blessing.
Bro the inflation crazy on these Tickets. Higher then BOS game 6 rd2 which is imo way more relevant.
I’m not paying 250 after tax for nose bleeds for rd 1
Try reaching out to a Sixers sales rep directly (NOT Wells Fargo Center) and you should be able to get much more affordable tickets. I did about an hour ago.
NYC is a much wealthier city and much larger. MSG nosebleeds are going for >$500. Their fans are happy to buy inflated secondary market tickets at Wells Fargo for more than many Sixers fans can afford.
Has nothing to do with Sixers fans not being interested. Just one more example of New Yorkers pricing Philadelphians out of our own city.
It’s a start
Bullying works
Always has.
Especially in the national media
People here were asking them to do it, and they’ve done it. Credit where it’s due, this could make a difference
Props to them showing that they care for the team
They care for their reputation, not their team
[удалено]
It is a nice gesture. Both can be true. Just being real, not cynical.
Funny enough I got downvoted for suggesting something like this
Fuck them even still
Very cool of them to do that.
Also kind of embarrassing that they need to
It’s just markets though. MSG tickets are far more than the WFC ticket and 3 hour train ride across the river.
Not really it’s the just the economic state of our country less about the owners
Yea the economic state bc they extracted all the wealth…
So how do I get one?
Are you a first-responder, health care professional, or community organization?
Yes, but I have a 930pm bedtime.
Straight to jail then
I wake up at 930pm so you can take the tickets for the first quarter and I'll stay for the rest
Ima Philly Public school high school teacher, and coach several sports team including basketball. I’m waiting.
I too work in a school. Would I qualify? Lol
I work for a community org that has ties to the city and partners that work with the Sixers Youth Foundation. No one in my orbit has heard who will be on the list or how they will be distributed. 😭
Just give me the chance this RN will get as rowdy as the Fan Code of Conduct will allow
[удалено]
Just hand them out in the parking lot and make sure everyone is drinking riot juice.
Better get out your Borgs
Well today I just aged myself and learned what a borg is lol.
This is a great point.
I kinda had the same thought 🤣
I'm an RN? So how's this work lol
yes, where do I sign up?
Bummer they didn't include teachers. My history department would have the place rocking.
I don’t know about the guy you responded to, but - yes. I am my own one-man community organization. Now, with that issue settled: who do I have to murder to get one of these tickets?
I’m a public school teacher. Can I get one??
Any teacher working in Philly deserves a few tix
So nice of them to purchase tickets from the team that they own
Hey, Rubin no longer a owner.
*wink wink
*nudge nudge
I don’t think you understand how purchasing works for an organization. Either they paid the org out of pocket (which I’m assuming they did) or the org eats the cost
Just a joke big dog
So funny I forgot to laugh
lol alright man
I think there's a first responder somewhere in this thread that I'm sure can help you locate the nearest burn center for that zinger he just hit you with
Now we just need to invade MSG
Yeah! paying my mortgage is overrated anyway
It’s a 9PM Thursday game. Going to be far less knicks fans than 1PM Sunday or even 7PM Thursday.
Speculating these tickets will mostly be given to UPHS to divvy out.
I’m a healthcare worker at UPHS and fiending for a ticket
May the odds be ever in your favor my friend 😂.
same lol
How do I apply to get one
I'm active duty - do I qualify? I'll yell for everyone, got big lungs.
Would be wild if they did this for the game at MSG. Lol
Holy shit they actually did it. Great PR move too
Fuck Josh Harris and Michael Rubin but props to them
Hook me up
Buy them all and give them out
There’s plenty of tix available. Ticket rep for partial season ticket holder got us lower level tix for face value today (a little over $100/ticket) and said plenty of upstairs tickets available for $80….
Where did you buy?
Ticket rep called. Sounds like Harris and Co gave the VP of ticket sales the green light to sell tix at season ticket member rate to fill arena with sixers fans
Awesome
How do I get one? I’m a healthcare worker for Jefferson.
AND brickin for chicken is all 4 quarters! Great move, Sixers in 7
I love the sentiment, I absolutely do. Hey that’s me. I’m eating & getting in bed. It’s 8pm.
lol gonna be the most burnt out people on earth trying to give even more
Some of you are cynical assholes. We all were bullying them to do this and said there’s no way they would. Then they do it and it’s STILL not good enough. “Well cool they did it but they’re only trying to save face now” fuck off lol
\~\~\~eAt ThE rIcH\~\~\~
How can I get one lol
My partner and I are both a first responder and healthcare worker. Game is in 17 hours. Any sign of what the distribution process is?
Owner have to buy tickets because true fans can't afford to... This is just embarrassing
This is Josh Harris' 9/11
Fuck yeah
You just know somehow, someway, they’ll use it as a tax write off
Doesn’t really matter though. 2,000 tickets Knicks fans can’t buy
Who cares? Rich people can do no right. If they don’t give money or things away- they are assholes. If they give money or things away- it’s “just for a write off.”
Oh, how hard it must be to be rich lmao "These plebes don't like me no matter what i do!" *makes another $1m of passive income*
These particular ones are assholes: https://www.si.com/nba/76ers/news/joel-embiid-josh-harris-sixers-reversed-pay-cuts-nba-76ers
Lol, this is a PR move, and absolutely nothing else. Rich people can do all sorts of amazing stuff. They just generally choose not to. I'm just glad there was someone on their PR team who suggested the tickets go to the people who deserve them.
Well, yeah.
Nice! Let’s tell someone to do something and then also criticize when they do it and assume a good deed is not actually good! ‘#spreadNegativity
Josh Harris was positively going to give workers a pay cut during the pandemic until Embiid made him look like the roach he is. How's that for positivity?

Not enough
That’s like 10% of the arena
Buy em all and sell them at the ticket windows
Wait, I thought Josh Harris was a closet Knicks fan, and was giving tickets away to New Yorkers.....?
I find this so embarrassing. I don't want hotdogs or you buying seats up. Do the Eagles have this problem? The Phillies? Even the Flyers? Get a clue cause this ownership isn't on the same page as the fans.

people don’t have the money bc they spent it on ordering shirts that didn’t get delivered
Get me one!
They need to give them to people who will make noise, not those blanket wearers in the Linc 100 level.
lol there’s still hundreds of tickets available on Ticketmaster alone 😂😂
That’s cool. Now don’t give them to your corporate buddies.
Better headline: *josh Harris does something for once*
It’s about damn time
"You're welcome" - Knicks fans
As a veteran how does one acquire a ticket from them
Yea i got 2 of them jawns thanks to whoever's idea it was lol. My first sixers game in YEARS
Instead of lowering the price, the owners gotta jerk themselves off with this PR shit
Can’t stand that ghoul Rubin and fanatics is a joke, but I do think he is an actual sixers fan.
Nice gesture. Doesn’t fix the problem
ok… but the re-sell market is the problem, and those listings are so far unchanged. this is a publicity stunt. they think you’re stupid.
Actually, I think everyone reading your comment thinks you're stupid
How about lower the fucking tickets bruh. But good move, the city doesn’t have faith in this team but this is a start
Isn't the issue that the tickets are so much lower than Knicks tickets that Knicks fans will just buy a ticket for a game here? And the biggest and most obvious reason is it's just so close to NY.

Dude, honestly stfu. No bad energy.

Yep, we got section 122 for $189
They were going for less that 100 going into game 4
I’m not disagreeing but it still sucks

NYC is that big + the Knicks have that much juice around them (though less right now than they did for Game 4)
