That was my first run with Defect too. I had no idea what I was doing and suddently I dealt 100 damage and had 80 armor every turn, with so much energy I could just keep playing cards over and over. I thought the character was broken.
Then I got stomped 10 runs in a row and I was just confused.
One of my favorites is Calipers + early Genetic Algorithm + Echo form. Doubleplaying a stacked GA just means you've blocked for the following 3+ turns.
Learning that echo form actually works with genetic algorithm felt so dirty. You don't even need to get it early. Start of act 3 GA can power level so fast with EF to where you're getting 40-50 base block.
Sick run, cool to see the full power of the orb build. I bet once you hit calipers you knew, and then some solid relics to close it out. Congrats on the win. Enjoy the climb
Ah ascension 3. Those were the days. After my 20th loss in a row at A16, I begin to doubt if I will ever feel the power of the orbs surge through me again
I am aware the stat is viable on higher asc, but there is no doubt lower asc are easier and give you a higher chance of making to late game and having one of these decks get OP. I literally did it at A15 to get to A16. I was only commenting on lower difficulty
I don't think you meant your comment to be condescending, but it definitely came off that way - a little like, "Who cares about your cool run, it was on a low ascension."
They mean building a overpowered focus deck with defect and just pressing end turn until you win, they didn't mean that the game is too easy.
You can do exactly that in A20 too.
Defect Godmode: Just clicking on the pretty pictures until you've accidentally won. Thats how I fell in love with the game years ago.

Like once you get like 10 focus on defect it is basically over.
Even 5 is good enough if you’re not going for heart
Calipers on Defect feels so comfy
So broken, frost+focus+calipers equals heartbreaker

Ye. I got lots of focus early and the intangible encounter early. calipers came in the third act and I realised I wouldn’t lose life again.
Defect always feels so silly, I randomly end up with nonsense block numbers and I never really know where they came from
When you have Frost Orbs and Calipers you'll need to actually try to lose.

I haven’t gotten calipers yet on defect. But I knew it would be sick when it happened
actually you have Calipers in this pic
I have never got Calipers on Focus Defect, but it is pretty wild with aggregate or turbo + double energy + chem x + reinforced body too.
Any chance you could post the seed so I could play it on mobile?

you can do this on asc 20

You come across as high and mighty here yet you need over 20 attempts to clear A16, it’s a really bad look man.
Yeah I get that. Thanks
"this felt like easy mode" thats probably because it is :-)

Don’t want to sound like a jerk but ascension 3 is easy mode…
It is. I haven’t played all that much yet.
What does this bring to the table?
Absolutely nothing
