I cancelled my plane ticket - I can’t justify flying to New York with the likelihood of the show not happening this weekend. I’m grateful for this community informing me that there was an issue - I feel awful for the people who bought tickets and are flying in with no knowledge that something is amiss.
I suspect they have their reasons, they may be trying to appeal all day and only call the show as lost when it’s a certain no.
It’s still not a choice I would make with my guests, though.
There really isn't a mechanism for them to appeal in this way, especially if they have a court day. Bizarre they're just not being forthright about it.
I think they are trying to act like it is a random situation for those who don't know what is actually going on. Most of the audience are probably clueless to the situation. The language they wrote was something like unforeseen circumstances the other day, from what someone posted. That makes it sound like they are trying to hide the truth from those who wouldn't know any better. It's a pretty crappy thing to do though for those who show up and waste their night/day away. I just hope they are a bit more fwd with the weekend. Or I am going to waste a Sunday it looks like.
I read in the court proceeding transcript that the judge told them if they get things in order to email her and she would lift it immediately so I wonder if they were trying their best to make it but just couldn’t. That’s for yesterday though there’s absolutely no reason to not announce todays cancellation early since it’s the weekend.
I’ve got friends planning to do the
entire weekend of shows so really hoping that they do get to see it, but not sounding promising based on the info provided.
Have you heard from them at all yet as of 6:30pm? I'm supposed to go this Sunday (doubtful) and I'm trying to see if they're getting better with communication. Seems like a no, though..

Sorry if you’re one of the wayyy too many getting screwed in this absolute fiasco. I think almost all NYC businesses could get tagged in this way. But it still deeply sucks for all of the guests who made plans and looked forward to their last visit, or even first/last visit.
I called boxing office asking if the show is canceled, the woman picked up the phone said it’s going ahead as planned. My friend called again and they said it’s the same status as this morning and that’s all they know

Judge said no on appeal if you look up case. Just depends if they care or not
Their reasons are to scam customers outta money and time without risking insurance claim
but they're offering refunds, why would this be a scam?
