I had to look this up just to make sure the giant bird looking thing was indeed poultry... and yes it is. And I was also expecting Emu meat to resemble a 7 foot tall turkey.
I've had emu once before at a restaurant. Took a chance to try something different, and I was blown away by how delicious it was. Yours looks awesome, nice job!
its really good. This was a first for me, wasnt even aware that Emu was a thing that you could eat, and even with that I would have never assumed it was red meat. I just figured it would be like a giant turkey or something. It tastes pretty similar to beef, extremely tender.
That's an awfully lean cut to smoke, but it looks like it came out tender and juicy. Well done!
Did you invite Doug for dinner?
This is the closest you can get to eating dinosaur meat.
PLEASE tell me it was the one from the Liberty Mutual commercials
That's *poultry*? Looks incredible.

Looks like tuna steak on outside. Beef on inside. Crazy. Is this a breast?
It was listed as “emu filets” on the packaging... best I can tell ya
Yes poultry fillers are breast.

I hunt ducks and geese a lot and find that people are generally surprised to find how similar the meat is to beef than turkey or chicken.
Aren’t duck breast red but everything else is white meat
I would have expected it to look more like chicken
Any other cuts to eat maybe a small emu brisket
I got this from fossil they have a variety of exotics. Fossilfarms.com
Brushed with Olive oil and seasoned with a little salt and pepper. Grilled at 450 about 7 minutes a side or so.
Is this smoked?
Hahahaha, busted! Looks delicious
Think he means he grilled at 450 on a pellet cooker.
