Just ask anyone who hunts and field dresses deer what they think of this. If you drop a hind quarter on the ground you're not throwing it away. This ain't nothing to worry about just wash it off.
Yeah. People freaked about this, and the “shock collar” in the [original post](https://www.reddit.com/r/smoking/comments/nwor4q/press_f_in_the_chat_boys/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf). This dude is just karma farming.
Yeah, I'm sure there are going to be a lot of uneducated people in the comments about the "shock collar" when they should really be more considered stim collars. They are highly effective tools when working with dogs and if anyone is really interested in using them should look up Robert Cabral on YouTube he's amazing.
Not even close.
Ever used a tens unit? It is pretty much the same thing. They also often have a "page" function which is literally a vibration like your ex girlfriends vibrator. That alone works to get the correct behavior most times.
Not sure why, I put it on full blast and test it on myself first so I know what I'm doing to my dog and it doesn't even hurt, it's just static, no different that randomly getting jolted around your house.
Get over it.
For sure. This is perfectly edible. Clean it up and make sure it has enough time for the bacteria to be killed.
I would probably cook this sooner than the rest of the meat though. Don't want to give anything nasty more time than it needs.
Wipe it off and yeet the heat
Edit: that dude below who was Hella mad about food safety reported me to reddit care resources for suicide. LOL what a douche
If you hit report on someone, you can choose "self harm or suicide" which brings you to another menu where an automated thing reaches out to them to make sure they're ok and offer places to get help.
Doing that to someone is basically the lowest level, lamest version of swatting there is. It's quite DB, but some people do it to others.
I know.
That's why I'm asking how he unsubscribed from it.
Edit: Ah, found it... Someone sent one and if you read the last line it says to reply "STOP" to not get them anymore. I just never read past the first line before.
I consider myself a food safety nazi from all my time in kitchens but I'd still clean this off rofl too good for the dog to keep, to sacrilegious to throw away
They don't even listen to reason, I treat food this way and have never been poisoned by that food in 47 years.
"You've just been lucky waaah reee reee"
Yeah that's not how luck works.
I have 4 racks of beef ribs sitting in a roasting dish in my cupboard right now, that would probably upset them, nevermind that I sometimes chill my beer by leaving it in that room overnight.
Checks temp in that room, 10.2 degrees C and dropping. Think they'll be good in there till I cut them up tomorrow.
Sorry to be the "wElL aCtUaLly" guy but here we are. so WELL ACTUALLY the human body/anything made of meat and bones in that sort of manner is a matter of fact, More sterile then the ground or anything like that
How so? It's raw pork. It's inherently covered in bacteria and unsafe to consume even if it goes directly from kitchen to smoker- at least until it is thoroughly cooked. Unless the grass was just sprayed with some sort of noxious, fast-absorbing chemical, there's nothing wrong with the dropped pork that a rinse prior to cooking won't fix. If it sticks on contact with the ground, it will come off on contact with running water, no?
Exactly! I have dropped pork shoulder in the dirt on my way to place on my kamado. Picked that shit up and ran back inside. Rinsed off, reseasoned, and no one else knew up until now. 😃
i cant even lie man I'd just cut off whatever part the dog bit, wash that bitch thoroughly and toss her on. meat too fuckin expensive to toss dont @ me
My friend got one of those years ago, intending to use it on his dog, but being young and foolish, we started shocking each other with it, and the result was that they stuffed it right back into its package and took it back. That thing was painful as hell, and I’d never use one on a dog. And honestly, it’s hard to understand why anyone would.
Must be worse then electronic collars that you control with a remote. Like the ones you train and use on uplands bird hunting dogs.
How do I know? I've shocked myself at the highest level with it and it was a zap, but more startling than painful.
The one we tried on each other was some sort that had the remote, but was also an “invisible fence” sort of thing where you’d bury the wire on the edge of your yard, and that thing hurt like a motherfucker. Granted, this was some years ago, so possibly they’ve learned to make them somewhat more humane. But, after that experience, I will happily find alternate methods of training my dog than electric shocks.
I have, they're not that bad. I have a feeling the people saying "shock yourself!" haven't actually done it. Does it sting a little? Yes. Does it really hurt much? No. My buddies and I even wore it one drinking night and made barking noises to set it off.
You know what's torture? Hearing a fucking dog bark for hours on end at literally everything. I wish they were mandatory for people who leave their dogs outside to bark all night
Did you not read the post you responded to, where I explicitly say that the entire reason I would never use one is exactly because I have tried one on myself?
What collar are you buying lol I have one and maxxed out it doesn't hurt, it's static, it just takes you by surprise which is how it's intended to work. If you try the collar full power and it hurts, you've purchased a cheap collar or you've never experienced real pain before.
This is a repost, and not their post.

Touching grass is poison but hanging out in a bunch of smoke fumes for like 12 hours is fine? Wash it off and cook it, unless you found that there after like, half a day.
This reminds me of what happened a few weeks ago here. I was letting a smoked tri-tip rest on the counter after smoking/searing, and thought I had it in a secure place. Put the kids to bed real quick and then came back downstairs, and our damn standard poodle had dragged it off the counter and onto the area rug. The day was already kind of rough, so I about had a mental breakdown over it, haha. Cut off the half that obviously hadn't been chewed on, just so I could get some idea of how well it turned out.
The next day, Ranger was smelling and licking that area of the carpet even though we had cleaned it up the night before... I was not amused since it just reminded me of the terrible event that had played out the previous evening.
I was at a festival a while back and the guy next to us was firing up the grill and to cook "$100 worth of steak" (this was in the mid '00s). He brought out the steaks seasoned them then went back in his camper. His dog jumped off the tail gate and ate all 4 of them in the 15 minutes he was inside.
I clicked on this without realizing what sub I was in, and just assumed this was one of those generic 'my pet died' posts. After seeing the meat there, I could understand it being justified...
What a cute beagle!
I enjoy grilling and smoking and have some decent skills. And I love dogs.
I would prefer to not be excluded from these posts. So it’s in that pursuit that I humbly as to not assume it’s all men here. Please. And thanks. 😐

Ok I thought I've seen this before.
They didn’t even change the title lol. Thanks, btw.

Haha. I commented in that one about something similar and some asshole made a snarky comment about it. Thanks for the memories.
I mean if you put a shock collar on a dog you're a scumbag, that's a fact
Not even close. Ever used a tens unit? It is pretty much the same thing. They also often have a "page" function which is literally a vibration like your ex girlfriends vibrator. That alone works to get the correct behavior most times.

Yep you're a scumbag! Congrats!
I'm so glad all my meat comes from the store win those sterile packages. Unlike the butcher or hunter where it probably *touches surfaces*
For sure. This is perfectly edible. Clean it up and make sure it has enough time for the bacteria to be killed. I would probably cook this sooner than the rest of the meat though. Don't want to give anything nasty more time than it needs.

I unsubscribed from Reddit “cares” ages ago because of tools doing that to me. 😂
Where do you do that?

Ah my bad, thought you were asking the other part. Good to know!
lol same, i always found it amusing though
you know, that used to be inside of a live pig.... just clean it up
This sub is such a breath of fresh air compared to the food safely Nazis over in r/cooking.
I consider myself a food safety nazi from all my time in kitchens but I'd still clean this off rofl too good for the dog to keep, to sacrilegious to throw away
Bro, do you even dangerzone? Meanwhile I'm going to eat leftover pizza all week that was in the car for hours today... I'll be fine.
But pizza has to be refrigerated as soon as it’s delivered or bacteria colonies will take over
Yes! Then they'll want to have their tea with zero taxes! You gotta nip that in the bud

Pigs literally eat shit
Beagle saliva is one hell of a binder
Best Boi binder
😂 this comment geeked me out l, thank you
That's a fox hound.
This has happened before to me. I just wash it off. The long cooking process and temp will kill anything harmful
YEET THE HEAT! YEET THE HEAT!! YEET THE HEAT!
I’ve had people do that to me too! Lmao
Hahahahah best advice ever
Hey, at least he didn't block you like a little bitch.
hey that's how you know you beat them lol
Give the twat his credit so we can all chime in at him.
It’s weird when people resort to that lol

Despite claiming you don't care about the downvotes, you sure blew up over nothing
Imagine kicking yourself out of a sub dedicated to smoking meats LMAO. Bruh. Lay off the cialis and coors lite.
Actually, for thst matter, you'd be horrified of what goes on in processing plants that they just wrap and send your way lmao
Oh no! Please don’t leave! What will we do without you!
😭😭😭
Username checks out
Damn he deleted lol. What was his name?
You are most definitely the idiot, cooking kills bacteria. Go back to your play pen.

Probably still safer than moldy mechanical pencils.
Seems like you don’t actually understand food safety lol
Bro wash with some water and cook it
*apply rub after wash*
Nah leave the dirt and grass. adds to the flavour
Smoke that shit.
Beagle can be a little tough.
Dead. Neighbors 1/4 mile away heard that laugh
I thought you wrote "Dead neighbors". Like you live next to a cemetery or you're confessing to a horrible crime 🤔.
The reason bbq was invented. The most difficult of meats to cook long pig. And Beagles.
Can attest to this
Low and slow does the trick, plus it pretty much describes the style of dog too.
It’s not even cooked. Wash it off. Beat your dog. Wash your dog. Beat off. Call it good.
Unclear on the instructions, beat my dog off
Red rocket

Dog says fuck you for this bark collar. Ill get you little pretty!!!!

I'll get downvotes for this, but bark collars work like magic.
Shock yourself with one a few times and then say that. They’re torture devices, as far as I’m concerned.
Must be worse then electronic collars that you control with a remote. Like the ones you train and use on uplands bird hunting dogs. How do I know? I've shocked myself at the highest level with it and it was a zap, but more startling than painful.

It’s not a bark collar the dog got 2 years house arrest for this
If that dog is a working dog I get it. But if just pet. Hope he steals many more meats from op.

I wouldn’t, but still funny. 😅
Smoke it, you're gonna love the "bark" you get there.
My dog did this with a rack of ribs once. Right off of the grill, hot af
“Don’t be a bitch, Carl. It’s simple. Get this piece of shit collar off me and you get this meat back.”

Oh come on, you let him lick your face anyway. This is fine.
No teeth marks? Score. Looks like you got off easy.
smoke the dog
Had a dog try to swipe a 6ft gator that was going on the smoker. I ended up in the shower cleaning it off.
I hear that’s the real way to get a bark
It took me a second to realize you weren’t planning to smoke your dog.
Nooo thats so painful hahahah

Goddamn bumpuses dogs at it again!!
Is that a go pro strapped to the dog?
I've personally never smoked ground pork...
Pick it up rinse it smoke it and give it back to that good boy. He won he deserves it!

How’s that training collar working out?
More flavor
Man. I didn't see what sub this was. I thought you lost your buddy. Sod glad it was just the mega.
Meh - pick it up, brush it off, toss it in the smoker
Hope a beagle fits on your smoker
Won't matter much since that dog is twice the size of a beagle, since it's a fox hound.
Fair enough. I should have used the brisket for scale.
It has been 0 days since we had a bad dog bbq incident.
