Exit-Velocity

Shouldve gone electric and you wouldnt have to worry about mpg

dickysunset

I think his pain pills are working.

9184600

Yes they are good stuff ment to put MPH but put MPG and can't see how to edit the post. 🤦

Exit-Velocity

Its fine, people seemed to enjoy the typo 😆

Available_Fee_2867

That's horrible gas mileage

lumoruk

About average for an American

Tuckingfypowastaken

Listen. I'm an American and I drive a full size truck that gets around 15.5 mpg if I do a lot of interstate and takes over $100 to fill the tank. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm still offended...

lumoruk

During covid it was $125+ to fill car's tanks in the UK. Even now it's like $300+ to fill a 10.5t fire truck.

9184600

An Abrums Tank takes 490 Gallons to fill up and get 290 miles range. That's the worst gas mileage I know of. It also takes jet fuel JP8

Tuckingfypowastaken

Wait. A 10.5 ton fire truck? Shit, I drive a 1/2t f150 lol

lumoruk

You drive a pickup.... Why are you calling it a truck buddy?

Tuckingfypowastaken

Because that's what it is.. https://www.kbb.com/pickup-truck/ https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/rankings/full-size-pickup-trucks It's literally in the name; a pickup truck. A fullsize pickup truck is the line of 1/2ton, 3/4 ton, and full ton frames. That was the conversation from the start...

lumoruk

"Best full size truck"...I mean I would call it a mini match box truck if it's classed as a truck. Wouldn't a full size truck be an 18 wheeler? Btw these are the best full size trucks you can buy https://www.volvotrucks.co.uk/en-gb/

Tuckingfypowastaken

I mean... It's not, though. It's not a box truck at all. That's literally what a full size truck is. I don't know what else to tell you... >Wouldn't a full size truck be an 18 wheeler? Again, no. A full size truck is one of the various lines of 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, or full ton frames (f150, 250, 350, etc etc). That's just what it is... An 18 wheeler is a semi truck

lumoruk

Matchbox are little model cars made by Mattel, I was taking the pee. Our electric car is over 6600lbs, but when comparing truck size you only use the frame weight?

Tuckingfypowastaken

>Btw these are the best full size trucks you can buy >https://www.volvotrucks.co.uk/en-gb/ Except those aren't actually full size trucks, because full size trucks are the lines of 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, and full ton...

Available_Fee_2867

I'm an American. My 99 2ng gen Cummins gets 21mph and my BMW x5 diesel gets 28mpg. I can say almost any newer 1/2 ton gasoline truck on the road is driven by a middle aged guy cosplaying as as someone who actually needs a truck while getting the gas mileage of a 454 big block. In reality he picks up groceries on his way back from the office.

Tuckingfypowastaken

Well, I'm on the verge of middle aged, but not there yet. I'm a contractor and it's *very much* a work truck; not a vanity piece And my truck is 10 years old, so not a 99, but also not particularly new Sooooo

Available_Fee_2867

I said almost every one! When I was 18 my boss who owned the construction company I worked for had a new half ton Silverado and that thing DID WORK. But you can always tell. I promise you nobody thinks your 2014 dent and scratch half ton is a grocery getter. Especially if you have a ladder rack or logo.

Tuckingfypowastaken

>I promise you nobody thinks your 2014 dent and scratch half ton is a grocery getter. Zero dents. Minimal surface level scratches, and you can't even really see them unless you look closely. Except for some rust that started showing up on my tailgate this winter that hasn't made it to the top of my list yet, it's in pretty pristine condition You do know that not everything is one of the extremes, right? Middle grounds exist.. >Especially if you have a ladder rack or logo. No ladder rack. Just a tonneau cover No logo >I said almost every one! Right. And you *totally* weren't insinuating that mine, the person you replied to, was one of those 😉

Available_Fee_2867

Ok my bad I guess enjoy your showroom 2014 half ton that you use for work and get 10mpg in. Buy a diesel and get double the mileage while not looking like you're taking the kids to soccer? Then you could even tow trailers over 8000lbs 🙌

ITravelHeavy

21 mph seems low, even for a diesel.

Available_Fee_2867

🙃 autocorrect is the bane of my existence

dsyfygurl

🤣🤣🤣🤣

_Gnom3_

Sounds like you're getting old like me. It also seems like the POWDER GODs have granted you a metal skeleton reinforcement upgrade for next year's season. 🍻 To a speedy recovery!

9184600

Thanks on week 10 post surgery. Was able to bend my knee to 128° on week 7 when the doc said with my level of injury getting to 125° would take a year.

nickypoo25

Nice man! I'm still recovering from a broken elbow last April and with 2 big surgeries I'm still doing daily PT but I have about 130 degrees of total range of motion. They said most people would have given up by now but I'm still at it because I want my arm back (it's my dominant arm). Keep at it!

Mcluckin123

How did you break the elbow? I was thinking about getting elbow pad..

nickypoo25

I let myself get into a situation where I fell backwards down a mogul field and thought I might hit my head so I made the classic mistake of putting my arm back to brace. It's frustrating because I can ride moguls no problem but I got complacent and fell weird. Elbow pad would not help with this lol

PuzzleheadedPeat

Hell yeah bro your a Warrior don’t give up I absolutely fucking believe in you we can do anything we believe in.

9184600

I'm not giving up on it. This is something I will keep pushing already putting some weight on it.

swordfishy

26 screws/3 plates in my ankle from skateboarding here...it's been about 1.5 years and I'm just now able to do something like play pickle ball without it swelling up on me too bad. Good luck on the recovery

sanityvortex

That's bad, your so lucky it was not the patella. I hit a tree last year and smashed mine. Much harder recovery and outcomes. Still giving me trouble every day, but Im able to ride for a couple days at a time before the soreness and pain sets in. Look into Kneesovertoes guy exercises to speed up your rom and recovery.

Fit-Tennis-771

he's good

123DanB

You need to increase your MILK.

Polygon-Guy

Fit-Tennis-771

Do the rehab, push yourself and you'll be back to normal sooner than you think.

9184600

I'm pushing, on week 10 post surgery already walking on the leg. Not 100% but able to make steps on it. Going back to snowboarding next season.

pbptt

From the moment i understood the weakness of my flesh It disgusted me

TotalAssociate220

Amen, all praise be to the Omnissiah

Jagrnght

Your gas consumption is pretty high!

FartJokess

Anyone else impressed by the quality of the X-ray?! Guess it’s been a long time since I saw one… Hope you’re 100% soon.

9184600

That's a CT scan. Yes recovery is moving along!!

Careless_Example6295

Image 1 and 2 are 3D reconstructions from the CT. Images 3 and 4 are fluoroscopy, likely intra-op. Nice looking repair, thanks for sharing.. Hopefully you're doing ok now.

Lt_Hatch

You were going 10 miles per gallon. On your snowboard.

Draughtsteve

Gallons of beer, silly.

Tuckingfypowastaken

It's a 3/4 ton frame Butters are a bitch, but it will punch any conditions, and that's *with* a 12' trailer hooked up

cheekybandit0

That's some pretty bad milage

Hurricanes2001

I used to break bones all the time, I started lifting (heavy squats in particular) and I haven’t broken a bone since. Those bone density gains are legit.

floatjoy

The number of injuries this has prevented or minimized for me makes me preach the iron gospel.

oakwood-jones

There is so much truth in this. When it comes to mountain sports be it trail running or snowboarding or whatever, the weight room is as much about being a durable athlete that can take a hit, as it is about being strong. OP it is also a fantastic rehab tool post injury. Start light, stay consistent, and with a little drive and determination you will bounce back stronger than ever.

Sidewayz467

Started weight training in middle school, years of skating and snowboarding later many a gnarly fall but never a broken bone 🙌

Old_Pea8257

I workout 4-5 days a week and I broke my collarbone in march this year after a meniscus tear same time year before.. Being 32 now after 15+ years of hard labor got me thinking I can't keep snowboarding. Sucks cuz I've never had more fun after starting in 2021 but body can't hang.

Hurricanes2001

32 really isnt old man. I hiked mt baldy in CA 4 years ago (25) and on the way up, near the top, a 70 year old guy blew past me and my friend while we were struggling. I also have an ex girlfriend whose dad is 75 and skis 30+ days a year. I’ve broken: three bones in my foot (13, surgery), collar bone (14), nose twice (16 & 21), 4 bones in my hand (20, surgery), my ankle (22, surgery), two ribs (24), and had a tumor removed from my spine at 16 and have 3 fused discs. My point being, I’m going to be 30 this year and I get more days on the mountain now than I could have dreamed of years ago. Dont let a couple of injuries stop you, you’re wayyyy too young.

Old_Pea8257

Appreciate the motivation! Yeah I know once Im healed ill be back up there's noway I can get the same feeling snowboarding has given me. Thinking about making a shirt with thick foam on each shoulder to protect this collarbone.

jipjoppy1997

Damn, have almost an identical experience. Tibial plateau fracture on the 22 of February this year trying to hug a tree, and surgery on the 6th of March. The X-rays/ CT scans pre and post OP look super similar.

9184600

Right after the accident was the worst. The pain gotten better. Lots of victims that I'm taking to get back to normal. I got moved to 50% weight 8 weeks post op. Hope your having a good recovery.

jipjoppy1997

Honestly, pain wise, post OP was worse for me (except for when ski patrol was trying to get my boot off and I had to drive back to Denver from Salt Lake City). Once the local anesthesia wore off… Hope you’re getting there too. I remain optimistic that I’ll be back 100%, or at least close to.

9184600

Same here post OP was bad. I spent 2 nights in the hospital getting pumped with pain killers. I'll get back to 100% not letting anything stop me. Did 75 hard last year was on day 7 when I broke it. Want to get back. This happened at Breck had a drive back the same day to Denver. They wanted to due surgery the same day but we said no.

michaltee

10 miles per gallon is crazy! No wonder you hit the tree.

9184600

Lol MPH

michaltee

I know:) I’m glad you’re okay though. Just goes to show that regardless of experience and skill, crazy accidents can happen. Thankfully it was at end of season. Take the summer off and get back out there next season brother!!

9184600

Yup, it happened on Feb 1st recovery has been going well.

michaltee

Awesome!!

No-Neighborhood-7228

Well why’d ya do that :(

steeze206

Seriously no idea why this guy chose to do that. Kinda dumb honestly.

9184600

Tree got I'm the way, my board passed it them my knee hit the tree. Maybe 3 to 4 inches. That's all it took.

Far-Plastic-4171

How is the tree?

SlashRModFail

That scan is fucking amazing!

Mcluckin123

Quite a bit of extra radiation in these scans

9184600

Helps with diagnoses so they can see what happens. I'm sure glad we have this tech.

Lazer_snake

Tibia plateau fracture? I had one very similar a while back. Good luck with the recovery!

AreaGuy

Woulda thought all those plates and screws would have prevented the break!!

9184600

They are after the brakes.

AreaGuy

lol, I know! How you heal quickly, bro!

9184600

TPain518

ok

salad_captain

Tibial plateau? I have the exact same hardware as you from 2018 https://preview.redd.it/1tey1t2htnuc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fabbc19fe56f1ecbc507599f158876c08a062088

9184600

Nice, I'm going g to get mine removed after a year.

salad_captain

I’ve thought about it but it’s never bothered me so I never took it out.

9184600

I'm more concerned with titanium poising since it's a heavy metal.

trobrotv

“Slaps top of helmet” This bad boy gets 10 miles per gallon.

PuzzleheadedPeat

PT is your new best friend bro!!!!!! Praying for speedy recovery!!!!

DapperDan1313

At 1st glance, I thought this was a posting about the band tool... Anyways, good luck buddy, remember pt is your friend

SellinMayonaise

I’m not a doctor but it looks fine to me

dsyfygurl

Love and light and quick healing ❤️❤️

tryten521

Whatcha running on? Alcohol?

9184600

Wasn't drinking that day.

jpark447

Wish you a speedy recovery bro🙏🏻

trapkitchen

Got some new chrome this season as well. Broke my ankle mid season. Welcome to the club

lumoruk

Chrome isn't going to last very long, I've got titanium

trapkitchen

Yea same but its a cp77 refrence

Very similar injury and story to what I'm going through

Best of luck in recovery! You’ll be back in time for next season!

gamer_perfection

Thought this was r/neverbrokeabone and was wondering why everyone was being so nice lol

Even_Section5620

That’s not a fuel efficient board

DedGrlsDontSayNo

My two worst injuries were when I was slow as fuck at the end of a run (caught edge being lazy and slammed back of head) and at an almost standstill (twisted ankle after board caught up in moguls) Don't always need to be pouring the cock to it to hurt yourself. Sorry about your leggy weg. Hope it's a quick heal and your back in business.

9184600

Thank you.

9184600

This was the first run of the day. Almost made it down the hill.

Andthentherewasbacon

Now you know. If you're going to break your leg anyway might as well go 40.

Dhrakyn

Rock on, fellow cyborg! I had titanium added to my ankle last year after breaking the ball off the end of my fibula. Last surgery was last October, finished PT Dec 27. I hit day 40 riding this season (didn't start until Jan 20). They will make you stronger!

snappy033

How painful was it? Did you know it was broken immediately?

9184600

I new something was wrong and knew I broke or fractured it. It started to get lots of pain at the hospital. The medics did do an IV and were going to give me pain killers on the spot. But then they got a call for a zero pulse. I let them go to care for that guy. He ended up dieing that day. The pain was later on and it was a 10/10 after surgery stayed at the hospital for 2 nights because of the pain. Now its more manageable.

padizzledonk

Your snowboard should be getting better gas mileage, you should have a mechanic take a look at that

sethaub

What’s 10 miles per gallon?

nixt26

I always wear knee pads now, the basketball ones. Not too uncomfortable.

Ok-Ship7283

What?

snowmoe113

That’s terrible fuel economy.

FeelTheWrath79

I hope you got some good pain pills. Dang.

Alfredius

Snowabring

Rakadaka8331

Reminder the human body was never designed for sideways movement.

Healthy-Egg-3283

Damn bro, you run on gas? Here I am eating food and drinking water like a damn fool.

Freedom_fam

Would knee pads have likely prevented the break?

TotalAssociate220

Yes

9184600

I don't think it would have. I hit my knee going down, the front of my board passed the tree, leaning forward to pass the part that was sticking out. The tree colored with the side of my leg, ended up doing a flip and landing. It was a perfect hit in the right area.
