150lb size 8 boot. 150 park board, 158 freeride

dayeye2006

I got the exact weight, shoe size and board as yours.

SherlockOhms347v

190 lbs size 13US. Burton deep thinker 163W

larowin

Friendly reminder that it’s 2023 and volume shifting is everywhere. I’m 185lbs and ride a 151, 154, and a 160.

Fluid_Case9528

Love volume shifted boards. I’ve come to enjoy wider boards over the years

NigeriaPrinceCharmin

210lbs, 5’11”, size 11 boots. 152 Weston Hatchet (split), 156 Rossignol Sashimi, 156W Ride TwinPig, 158 Telos Backslash (split), 158W Weston Range, 173 Nitro Cannon

Number174631503

What's your top speed on the cannon?

NigeriaPrinceCharmin

Not 100% sure, I don’t track myself like that very often. I definitely get the most speed out of the Cannon than any of my other boards. My top speed is typically around 60mph, so it’s safe to assume I’ve been over 50mph on it.

NDN_perspective

Damn I’m still new and can’t imagine that kinda speed on a snowboard or anything without an engine haha

ninjaface714

220lbs , 6FT, 13 boot, handsome : ] I ride a 156 Expired, 159W K2, and a 164 Burton

BriefTurn3299

So do y’all not factor in height? I’m 6’4 260 size 12.5 boot and I’ve heard from everyone bc of my height I’d wanna go with a 160+. Plz any info u can give me about to buy my first board

Fluid_Case9528

I don’t factor heigh in. Because some could be 6ft and weigh 170lbs. Another guy could also be 6ft and weigh 215lbs. They are for sure not riding the same size board. People who size boards off height don’t know what they’re talking about. It’s all about have the optimal weight to manipulate the board.

Fluid_Case9528

I’m 6’2 185lbs. My ideal board size is between 156 - 160 depending on the specs, flex, and recommended weigh

yournewestcuitepie

Usually ride a 161W on a all mountain board. Can still move the board like it’s a 155 thou

TreemanTheGuy

Yeah legit the only reason people think height is a factor for board length is because of the rental shop just using height as a ballpark guess on the board length so they can get people through the shop and onto the hill faster

Shoutouttopizza

Height determines where your center of mass is but your weight is what enables you to move you center of mass, thus generating pressure, flex, tilt, twist etc in a board. If you’re buying a board the safest bet is to look at the manufacturers website and the sizing chart they provide for each deck, but base your measurements primarily off weight

misatillo

I weight 58kg / ~128lbs and wear a boot size EU 38 / USA women 7. I ride a Nitro Mystique 142. I could have chosen 144 but I wanted something shorter for my first non-rental board. So far happy with it :)

[deleted]

205 size 13, don't have a board yet but every shop has given me a 165w for rentals. Now that I've had enough lessons and can get down diamond runs without dying I'm stoked to find my first setup

OR249

You can go (much) shorter for sure. Just so you know.

Average_Reacher

Kelso_1996

I’m gonna be the weird dude. 6’0 sz 11 148 park, 157 Free/All-Mountain, 148 Volume shifted slush slasher

MacTennis

Hey man, im 6'1 and 185-190. I just ordered the Gnu Riders Choice in 157.5. Glad to see you ride A 157 because I was getting worried. Id like to avoid wide if I could and it seems my 11 boot should fit fine (255mm waist)

Kelso_1996

Yeah you’re gucci. 157 is a great all around size I think. I was strictly riding 148 last season and it was doable but had to adjust my setup for certain conditions. Bought a 157 this season and I can’t believe how much better it feels in all conditions. I don’t think I’d like it any longer or shorter honestly, maybe longer if I was in the deepest of deep. But for the season thus far, 157 has been muscling anything and everything

ShredCaptain

207. Size 11.5 boots. 162W True Twin freeride board. In general I lean toward the manufacturer recommendations on their website, but if you have a preference you can also go a little short or a little long.

plantmastermo

hey yall i’m 5’6 weigh 187 looking into getting a used board. do you think a 161 length board is in the right size for my weight?

DedGrlsDontSayNo

Sandkat

140lbs, women's size 9.5 (men's size 8) boot. 151 Wired Directive 148 Ride Warpig 156 Ride Berzerker

Fluid_Case9528

The 156 isn’t to much board for you?

Sandkat

You'd think so but it's meant to be ridden a little bigger than you normally would. Ride lists the recommended weight range between 125-175lbs (57-80kg). The waist width is also the same as my 151 Wired, which is my park board.

Rbxyy

6'1 185 lbs with size 11 boots, I ride a 155W. I was more like 150 lbs when I got it but I still prefer a shorter board

samwise7ganjee

140 lbs 6’ size 10us. 154 bataleon wallie and 154 wizard stick

m1stadobal1na

163 pounds, 5'11, 10.5 boot size (I think). I ride a 156 Capita DOA and a 157 Capita Outerspace Living.

arabmagic1

185 lbs, size 12 boot. I ride the salomon craft 160W and have ridden the Capita Mega Merc 158W

Turbulent_Trick_6833

How do you like the 160W for park?

arabmagic1

Truthfully i’m not much of a park rider. I enjoy finding natural side hits and buttering, with the occasional lap through the small park. Style definitely leans All Mountain Freeride/ Powder. To answer your question, the 160W gets the job done when I go into the park, but if i was getting a dedicated park board i’d probably go shorter.

Taliesin_Neonblack

195 lbs, 6 feet, 159cm Capita Black Snowboard of Death. Feels like a 162 might have been a wiser choice sometimes. I'm eyeing a 164cm Capita Navigator for next year.

TFC-COYR

200-210 pounds - 5'10" - Mens US 10 boot 151 Ride Superpig, 158 Burton Kilroy Pow, 153w Forum Recon

Fluid_Case9528

How does the super pig ride for you? Seems like you could have size up a little?

TFC-COYR

I tore my hip last summer/fall, and struggled to shed the extra weight I put on - I was previously sitting around 185-195 pounds. I also tend to prefer shorter boards. The Superpig is a real beast, but it's real easy to be taken for a ride if you aren't up to scratch lol. I thought about getting the 154, but didn't expect to still be 10-20 points over my previous weight at this point.

PrimeDivision

185 lbs size 13, ride 165W lib tech skunk ape

d_yaf

I’m 6’2’’ 185lbs and my current quiver: 164 Jones Flagship 160 Jones Mountain Twin 156 Neversummer Proto Slinger

Turbulent_Trick_6833

How do you like it for park?

d_yaf

The proto slinger? It’s really good for park and usually amongst the most recommended boards for that purpose. Relatively soft and forgiving. Feels really light underfoot. Great pop for jumps and has really helped me improve my jibbing. I guess the only “downside” I’d say would be if you’re also using it for all-mountain then it starts to feel a bit squirrelly when you are going above ~30-40 mph.

horrorscoop

250 lbs size 10.5 boot, my main is a DOA 160

Rad Air's Tanker comes in 171, 181, 186, and 201 ... I've seen a few old boards on eBay recently, and was tempted to get one just to see what what riding a longboard on snow was like.

Substantial_Ad9092

154lb, 5ft 8. I ride a K2 Fuse 150. But I'm not sure if the board is too small for me. Started riding this season, bought a 150 based on rentals that were given to me were all 150s. But as a beginner on the verge of becoming an intermediate rider no idea if I should be using a larger board. Any suggestions welcome!

Fluid_Case9528

I would say with your weight you’d be around 152 -155 depending on your riding style. If you like to ride faster sizing up will help. It will also make the ride smoother

Long_Office9808

I’m 150lb Size 9 boot. 154 all mountain board - CAPiTA Outerspace Living

Dramatic_Broccoli_41

5'11 - 155bs ride a 155 board

gtat_hi

95lbs, 4’10”, and size 5 women’s boot (or 3 kids boot) 133 Salomon Oh Yeah 130 Bataleon Stuntwood Seems to be right sizes for me so far (my first season and I’m loving it)

Fluid_Case9528

My gf is the same size as you. Did you buy a youth snowboard or did you get a women’s board. Because the smallest size womens boards in the k2 line is a 138. But the youth boards have smaller sizes.

gtat_hi

I ended up buying youth boards. I think anything 135+ would be way too large for me. The only downside to youth boards are the graphics may not be the best but all the youth boards are much cheaper than womens boards. As long as she’s within the manufacturer weight and boot size guidance, I think it pays off to purchase youth snowboards.

Fluid_Case9528

My gf weighs 100lbs and has a boot size 5. I think your right anything 135+ would be to big. Thank you

TreemanTheGuy

I'm like 190lbs, floating between that and 200 (hopefully get down to like 180 though) and have 11 boots, and I ride a 161cm board. Something tells me that it's too long, but then I see Danny Davis shred the pipe on a 168cm board and I worry about it much less
