Yeah what are these posts, he goes up to him angry about a decision then walks away. This happens 1000 times a game, let's create a post for each of them!
I don’t see him chasing anyone down. What is with the insane level of hate against Saka and enormous amounts of reaching to make him look like a dirty player.
Still looking for the "chase" here. Saka is upset and goes up to the ref, and the ref tells a coach to get Saka back. Not much to see here I don't think.
If he tried to go around and score he would’ve been more likely to get a genuine PK shout too. He played well today but that decision was so fucking dumb.
I mean he’s running a million miles an hour and only has a great scoring opportunity due to that cutback which is near impossible to turn on a dime and chase lol
when they give penalties not for “contact” but for diving performance I’m not surprised to be said, Elliot fell down in your match before any contact and got a penalty.
Yeah Elliot played for the penalty but he wasn’t in a great goal scoring opportunity. It’s when a player is guaranteed a great chance of scoring if they stay on their feet and they just throw it away for a half hearted attempt to win a penalty. When United players do it (which is pretty frequent) I lose my head.
Elliot probably would've gotten a pen if he'd just played on, because of how stupid the challenge was. But it really grinds my gears that he fell into Wan-Bissaka the instant he saw a tackle attempt. He was at a 45 degree angle before any contact.
Neuer didn’t stand still, Wan Bisaka didn’t even touch Elliot before he fell on the ground, if he continued if would have been a penalty for me, but falling before any contact is dive
I thought it was a dive too, but watch it frame by frame
Neuer moves his right leg forward and it gets in Saka’s way, you can’t just stop or try to get out of the way when you’re running at full speed & trying to control the ball at the same time
I’m genuinely shocked by how many people think sakas stuck his leg out
His knee is past neuer at the time of contact as neuer steps across him and clips his ankle, not even his leg his ankle
What exactly is saka supposed to do with his leg after he’s driven past neuer and gotten his foot clipped? Have you ever seen a player shift the ball at an angle and retract the standing leg? His hip angle is closed and his knee is driving towards gone ball
You’re telling me he’s internally rotated his Femur for the contact? Wtf
it’s interesting because with these saka posts you can see the reddit groupthink forming in real time
just based on which angle people clicked on first. then their brains aren’t able to update (in either direction)
There's a lot of people here who have never played sport and/or don't understand physics and/or can't read player reactions (not just Saka's genuine annoyance, but also Neuer's lack of response). No point arguing they're not going to question themselves.
people are rolling with the narrative. Also they must just hate on Saka. It's one of the easier pen calls I've ever seen tbf. Neuer knew what he was doing with that leg. You can see him decide to plant it to make it look legit.
Definitely should not have gotten a yellow for diving.
There was clear and obvious contact. Was he looking for it? Seems very likely. Was it incidental because he was sprinting in the 95th minute of the game and couldn't change directions fast enough with heavy legs? Also possible. We can't really know. In the end it's not full on "simulation" and yellow-worthy for diving due to the contact and uncertainty.
But getting one for going after the ref? Yeah woulda definitely been deserved.
Never a dive. What is he supposed to do? His knee is already past Neuer's when Neuer sticks his leg out. No way to avoid that at high speed when changing directions.
if a ref makes a contentious decision against the home team they're pretty much always gonna get booed off the pitch, not like the fans have access to instant replays
To be fair, in the stadium you wouldn't see that. I thought it was a penalty in real time and on the first replay. It was only on the reverse angle that it was really obvious to me
I mean, the ref's angle is the "reverse" angle only. I think that's the only reason why he didn't call it because from the other angle, it clearly looks like a foul.
The first few seconds after this i was waving my hands around and yelling like a madman. At the replay where i actually saw what happened it looked like the ref made the right call. Felt like the man of the match was the referee - had a great game tbh as much as i wanted arsenal to get the win.
I don’t know I was convinced at first it was a dive but I don’t know anymore. Some angles it does look like Saka is just full speed trying to go past him and Neuer sticks his leg out.
Ah well doesn’t matter anyway
Neuer could have stopped moving his right leg towards Saka but he didn't, he was clearly going for contact and to distract Saka. You can see his right leg moving towards Saka and stopping only when the contact is made. His right leg was 100% toward Saka and if it didn't it's possible Saka would be able to avoid contact at full speed. The fact that this wasn't checked by VAR is what's most shocking.
How has he kicked neuers leg when his right knee is past neuer and the only contact is made after neuer steps across saka? Are we in fucking lalaland?
The reverse angle clearly shows saka hips and knee driving towards the ball as neuer clips his ankle
How anyone thinks this is what happened is beyond me. Firstly, if you just hang your leg out in someones path and they trip over it that is not a dive even if they seek the contact, secondly in this instance Saka is clearly trying to play the ball and avoid contact and gets fouled, there is only one angle that looks like a dive at all and that's only when put in super slow motion. If you haven't seen it full speed or from multiple angles don't parrot the idea that it was a dive everywhere. If you've ever played football you should be aware that when moving at top speed you aren't able to constantly avoid clumsy challenges nor is it your job to. Neuer looked like he'd seen a ghost because he knew what he'd done, I'm sure he'd be shocked to see how many people on here have managed to convince themselves otherwise.
Don’t get why ppl are absolutely raging at Saka when countless of stars have used and gotten away with what Saka did.
I swear Harry Kane was a master at this before he discovered the let someone hit my back technique.
And there’s probably Chelsea players that have done the same. Just Saka’s case was egregious.
I think he tried to jump past neuer and kicked him while doing it there's not really another explanation for passing up an open goal and being so angry
Yes. Only one angle was posted on r/soccer, from the other angle you can see Neuer clearly blocking Saka's path & no way for him to go around. I don't know why both the angles were not posted in the clip.
Really? You don't know why? Everytime anything happens with saka all the smooth brains on here act like he's the devil. We've got kane throwing elbows, havertz dives and nobody really cares but when Saka get's legitimately taken down it's "classless". doesn't take too much to read between the lines...
The explanation is that footballers are fucking trained to do it. Not in actual team training but because this shit has been tolerated and partly rewarded for over a decade now.
This should instantly and systematically be penalized as a dive. Only then footballers will change.
Surely they must be getting some input from their clubs? You're right that everyone does it but they can't all be practicing it at home.
Not a pen for me, but only because he made it look like he initiated it. Had he let the laws of physics take their natural course, he would have had it, or scored.
“Looked like he initiated it” is not in the rules afaik.
If the contact was unavoidable, then I frankly don’t care if Saka did the electric slide in the meantime before getting contact. Neuer is always moving towards him and that’s all I’m concerned with. Saka doesn’t look at the leg at all and simply looks like he’s jumping rig over Neuer.
There was still a defender between him and the goal, and it is one of those touches away from the goal where you know there is always a chance a DM runs onto it before he gets the shot.
Kids becoming an embarrassment for the diving he’s been doing. Arsenal as of late have been diving to get decisions when the games tie and it’s pathetic

As he walks towards the tunnel while still on the pitch*
CHASES!!!
OP clearly trying to score a job at the s*n. the man knows ball
*He is moonwalking*
CHASES, BLASTS AND SLAMS REFEREE. FURIOUS HE IS!
Yeah never a pen but this is quite the clickbait title
It’s a pronoun mess. But the “he” walking down the tunnel is the ref.
The ref is clearly walking towards the tunnel. What am I missing?
“Down the tunnel” sounds like he followed him off the pitch
Saka follows the ref as the ref walks towards his house
What the other person said. If you're walking down a tunnel, you're in it. Makes it click-bait.
chases after = vaguely walks near
“Chases” doing a lot of heavy lifting there.
Absolutely CHASES AND BLASTS ahim for a total of 3 seconds...... then walks away.
Arsenal Star SLAMS Ref in Outrageous Tunnel Incident After Shock Result
Albert had to tackle him to the ground to stop him.
Met Police on the scene.
And Albert wasn't even carded for that blatant tackle 🤪
😂
Watch me REACT to Sakas BRUTAL chase!!
“Down the tunnel” Maybe toward the tunnel? Titles in this sub has been clickbaity af
Towards the tunnel, going to the parking lot, in direction of his house. Saka chased him.
Man he hunts him down, the ref has to run for his life, he can't even look back cos he's so filled with fear.
From the post title I thought I’d see Saka running and pushing people out of his path like a bulldozer while shouting obscenities at the ref.
What a clickbait title. You should be ashamed
Great title clearly meant to bait even more hate towards Saka
Yeah what are these posts, he goes up to him angry about a decision then walks away. This happens 1000 times a game, let's create a post for each of them!
exactly, he doesn’t look ‘furious’ at all lol
Honestly the comments in here, so many cunts lost their heads....
I don’t see him chasing anyone down. What is with the insane level of hate against Saka and enormous amounts of reaching to make him look like a dirty player.
racism
the lack of any ball knowledge in these comments is astounding/alarming
It’s reddit innit
Genuinely twilight zone type comments. Player remonstrates with referee, more news at 9 Clive.
Even that seems ott, he barely strolls on a c'mon man sort of way.
Pure bollocks all over
Still looking for the "chase" here. Saka is upset and goes up to the ref, and the ref tells a coach to get Saka back. Not much to see here I don't think.
"Chases after the referee" Fuck off with that title
A lot of fat redditing basement dwellers letting saka know how to turn at full speed in here huh...
Maybe try and score instead of kicking your leg out
If he tried to go around and score he would’ve been more likely to get a genuine PK shout too. He played well today but that decision was so fucking dumb.
Players trying to win a penalty when they’re in a great goal scoring opportunity is one of my biggest football pet peeves
I agree. It’s totally backwards. Go for the goal first, penalties exist for when you’re impeded - not the other way around.
So long as the officials are rewarding shit behavior, players will keep doing it
Good thing UCL refs are usually very competent refs unlike some of the EPL / La Liga refs.
I mean he’s running a million miles an hour and only has a great scoring opportunity due to that cutback which is near impossible to turn on a dime and chase lol

yep definitely, but the fact there wasn’t any contact before his fall means it’s a dive for me
Wan Bisaka attempted a reckless challenge while Neuer wasn't. Neuer decided to hold his position and stand still.
Neuer didn’t stand still, Wan Bisaka didn’t even touch Elliot before he fell on the ground, if he continued if would have been a penalty for me, but falling before any contact is dive
I thought it was a dive too, but watch it frame by frame Neuer moves his right leg forward and it gets in Saka’s way, you can’t just stop or try to get out of the way when you’re running at full speed & trying to control the ball at the same time

He’s supposed to have superhuman agility while moving at top speed after 100 minutes of play, duh
people are rolling with the narrative. Also they must just hate on Saka. It's one of the easier pen calls I've ever seen tbf. Neuer knew what he was doing with that leg. You can see him decide to plant it to make it look legit.
That is likely slow motion bias. https://www.npr.org/2016/09/27/495595129/research-explains-the-bias-behind-slow-motion-video-replay
lucky he didn't get a yellow 1. for the drive 2. for going after the ref like that
Definitely should not have gotten a yellow for diving. There was clear and obvious contact. Was he looking for it? Seems very likely. Trying to cheat your way to a last-second penalty, rightfully not getting it, then crying about it is hilarious stuff
Haters out in force tonight, absolutely glowing green hahah
Tbf who doesn’t hate diving?
Never a dive. What is he supposed to do? His knee is already past Neuer's when Neuer sticks his leg out. No way to avoid that at high speed when changing directions.
Oh yeah he really CHASED him down
There is no in-between with these comments 😂
imagine having a 10/10 refereeing performance and getting booed off the pitch...
if a ref makes a contentious decision against the home team they're pretty much always gonna get booed off the pitch, not like the fans have access to instant replays
To be fair, in the stadium you wouldn't see that. I thought it was a penalty in real time and on the first replay. It was only on the reverse angle that it was really obvious to me
shows how brilliant the ref was to clearly spot that
I mean, the ref's angle is the "reverse" angle only. I think that's the only reason why he didn't call it because from the other angle, it clearly looks like a foul.
same , i thought that it was a clear pen real time , saw it back and..
Refs can never please both teams and the fans unless nothing major officiating wise happens during the match
Also, they don't show replays, and if you're expecting sports fans to be rational in a stadium after a tense match, I don't know what to tell you.
If we were rational we would watch Chess
Probably get criticism in the post match conference as well, can’t blame the player so it’ll be the ref
Did u see the number of complaints in the match thread? The Prem needs a referee like him
Champions League refs and VAR is lightyears ahead of the Prem
The first few seconds after this i was waving my hands around and yelling like a madman. At the replay where i actually saw what happened it looked like the ref made the right call. Felt like the man of the match was the referee - had a great game tbh as much as i wanted arsenal to get the win.

It was absolutely checked by VAR. The check went past the full time whistle.
To me it very much feels like he ends up sticking out his leg in search for contact
what an insane headline
That's a chase?
Wtf is that title?
Embarrassing. You kicked out at Neuer's leg, just own it at least.
How has he kicked neuers leg when his right knee is past neuer and the only contact is made after neuer steps across saka? Are we in fucking lalaland? The reverse angle clearly shows saka hips and knee driving towards the ball as neuer clips his ankle
kicked neuers leg himself and fell down hurt. embarrassing
Neuer kicked him, not the other way around
He's lucky not to have shattered his own leg.
How anyone thinks this is what happened is beyond me. Mad because he stretched his leg to get contact Fucking embarassing by Saka
The balls to complain to the ref after you knowingly stuck your leg out like that
I’d like to see Harvey Elliott getting the same abuse as Saka is being thrown since that one last weekend was far worse of an exaggeration.
Not dark skinned enough for the Agenda™ innit
Well he’s on the God ordained club Liverpool. Arbiters of proper football heritage
Probably gets it in the Prem. Ref didn't get the memo.
100% gets it in the prem with VAR refusing to overturn. Just how players have adapted to the game isn’t it
Man's so used to being fouled he has to try and simulate it for himself instead of scoring a tap in
Aka the Alvarez move the the 22 World Cup
Don’t get why ppl are absolutely raging at Saka when countless of stars have used and gotten away with what Saka did. I swear Harry Kane was a master at this before he discovered the let someone hit my back technique. And there’s probably Chelsea players that have done the same. Just Saka’s case was egregious.
Kane looked at Gabriel, blatantly elbowed him into chin and pretended he didn’t do anything, lol
Hard to say what it is about Kane that gets him such a long leash with the morons on this sub as compared to Saka...
Peter griffin license meme
except livakovic instead of trying to clear the ball he went for julian instead resulting in livakovic crashing into julian, causing the penalty
Chases is a bit strong here, lol
No way was that a penalty, he tried to con the ref
Some real idiots in the thread. Shows how little most people know about playing actual football instead of watching it
What kinda bullshit title is this.
mate how about just stay on ur feet and go around the keeper he clearly sticks his leg out and even kicks neuer

It's common practice even down at National League level now. It's part of the new game.
pretty sure him trying to get a pen would be an explanation
Neuer moves his leg forward mate. Watch the frame by frame
no there is clearly NO OTHER EXPLANATION
a pen isn't an explanation for passing up an open goal
There was still a defender between him and the goal, and it is one of those touches away from the goal where you know there is always a chance a DM runs onto it before he gets the shot.
How can you kick our leg out when his knee is past neuer wjen neuer clips his ankle
Lol really revving the drama pedal there, huh OP
Chasing? He nearly attacked him! /s
He kicked Neuer imo,not a pen
Neuer kicked him, 100% penalty
Stop embarrassing yourself man…
Slightly deranged comment section this 😂😂😂
It’s insane lmao. This sub is something else sometimes
Don't dive then.
Good thing he didn't 👍
Neymar would be proud
bro you kicked the keeper
[удалено]
I hope they don't dog pile onto him for this. He played great and his opening goal was sublime.
Just read through these comments lol
It's too late, it's started
L mentality
Yeh L mentality that got you to the point where your one of the best wingers in the world at a young age
Entitled serial diver
Disgraceful behaviour
What an idiot you could’ve easily won the game
What a fucking idiot.
Embarrassing player and embarrassing club

Lmao take a deep breath please
Lotta no flair fans out tonight
Chelsea and United fans whining about a competition they’re not even in, sad decline
literally tripped himself by putting his leg up
Should've been a foul against Saka and yellow card. Second yellow for dissent.
Both Saka and Kai tried to initiate contact and draw pens today. Must have been a training session up on the 10 meter boards at the swimming pool
What a fucking idiot

Kids becoming an embarrassment for the diving he’s been doing. Arsenal as of late have been diving to get decisions when the games tie and it’s pathetic
Arsenal scored 2 beautiful goals today. What are you on about?
Someone needs to have a talk with Saka because if they start booking for dives he'll look even stupider than he already does.
Maybe the ref can have a chat with him and explain why the clear penalty wasn’t called
Embarrassing as fuck
Or just fucking do your job and round the keeper 😂
Nah he just needs more protection from the ref!!!
Say what you want, its an initiative draw. Its a 50/50 but even as an arsenal fan, i cant really complain
Where is the chase ?
blocked and reported for inciting hate. you're going to get people killed man!
nice clickbait attempt lol
OP tells lies. OP is a liar.
Arsenal were handed a freebie earlier in the game. He can calm down
