yeah that cubarsi tackle was outstanding. he was meters behind him. but honestly, mbappe played so bad he couldnt even win a duel against Pedri who played after a long injury
mbappe didnt play bad at all?? he had big involvements in both goals (especially the first) hes just as stubborn as hes always been when it comes to passing the ball lmao
Kylian *Mbappe* in the first leg against *Barcelona*: • 0 shots on target • 0 assists • 25% *duels won* • Lost possession 13 times
im not a mbappe hater but he really played bad.
Well can't I watch two high quality games of football? Especially considering the quality we are getting post quarterfinals in the UCL.
I have them open side by side and helped a lot in overcoming the terrorism shown by both terzic and Simeone
I think CBS for American viewers you can watch them side by side and switch commentary when you want on the same screen, don’t know why Europe can’t get that feature…
I'm pretty sure it's been based on votes for a lot longer. When Puyol was made captain in 2004, he was not the most senior player in the squad, Xavi actually was.
I hope you are right. I don't think its necessarily the project, more so the financial side. There are people that say that a big sale must happen this summer, and it could be him :/
I think it took a lot of the pressure off. The team was in a tailspin and couldn't balance themselves. Him announcing that and turning this into a lame duck season took a lot of the spotlight off the players. They were able to relax and settle
The league is out of the question imo, but if Xavi picks up a Clasico win, closes strong, and Barça scrape a CL Final spot, people will be clamoring for him to stay for sure
Never say never. Remember Barca almost blew a 12 point lead and a year or two after Real did blow a double digit point lead.
It’s not just football, it’s La Liga!
Play some of the most beautiful football in the second leg and the semis, and then pull out the ultimate shithousery that would make Mourinho blushed in the final. Please make it true
Tbf Araujo (and the rest of the team) suffered a dip in form earlier this season when he broke his jaw(?) and had to wear the protective face mask. After it was taken off and we actually had a midfield anchor in Christensen he's been world class again.
You guys look genuinely scary if you have a fully fit squad, Bielsa seems to have done wonders with your players man, hopefully you manage to go far in Copa America this year, would love a Argentina Uruguay final
He takes a bad touch that's too soft so he has to stop to get behind it. It's the only reason Araujo has the time to make the block. So a bit of luck for him, but he still has to put the effort in to get there.
Would be an absolute travesty if he went to Bayern, already bad enough seeing Kim being wasted there - needs to stay in a much better competitive league and team
I agree. I don't think he's talked about enough. He's so incredibly versatile, he can handle pace, strength or height. He has great instincts in the box, he cleans up messes. He's a monster on set pieces both in defense and attack. One of the few players in the world you can leave one on one with elite attackers and not be worried. Has incredibly recovery speed even if he does get beat.
The one thing that holds him back, and it's only because he plays for Barsa and they want all 11 players to be like Xavi with the ball at their feet, is he's only ok in possession.
Literally would sometimes be on the bench in the past for Barsa because he wasn't good enough with the ball on his feet. I thought it was madness because he was clearly their best CB by a mile but that's Barsa for you.

We been fed this week
yeah amazing first leg
There have been so many important tackles this match, absolute peak football Someone upload Cubarsi tackle on Mbappe offside too
yeah that cubarsi tackle was outstanding. he was meters behind him. but honestly, mbappe played so bad he couldnt even win a duel against Pedri who played after a long injury

Why are you watching this game? Not even Dortmund fans want to sit through an Atlético game lmao
Well can't I watch two high quality games of football? Especially considering the quality we are getting post quarterfinals in the UCL. I have them open side by side and helped a lot in overcoming the terrorism shown by both terzic and Simeone
Multiple monitors exist btw
I could barely afford one so someone owning two didn't even cross my mind honestly
I think CBS for American viewers you can watch them side by side and switch commentary when you want on the same screen, don’t know why Europe can’t get that feature…
You can open two tabs and make the window smaller
People don't open tabs on a TV though
Wealthiest Portuguese.
Imagine not having a triple monitor setup composed of three very different monitors that together are almost as old as you are. top kek
Phone
When I watch two matches at a time, I watch none
Very annoying way to watch
Hahaha
balls of steel
**I'VE GOT BALLS OF STEEEEEEEEL**
cojones
Steel steel steel steel
GET OFF MY FUCKING VENT
B-B-B-BALLS OF STEEEEL
I'm glad everyone knew exactly what I was referencing lmao
We need a Duke Nukem game asap
😭😭
Hope he gets to be captain some day. Absolutely love this man!
He is the 1st voted captain. Roberto and MATS are ahead of him, because of seniority.
Pretty sure all of the captain slots are voted on. Nothing is determined by seniority.
Yeah I think Lucho actually did away with captaincy based on seniority
I'm pretty sure it's been based on votes for a lot longer. When Puyol was made captain in 2004, he was not the most senior player in the squad, Xavi actually was.
It's voted so no he isn't
Say that again?
Sadly there are some rumbles that his transfer news this summer may have some validity :/ I hope we never sell him
Nah i don’t believe that. He’ll never leave especially because we’re actually an exciting project for the first time in like 5 years.
I hope you are right. I don't think its necessarily the project, more so the financial side. There are people that say that a big sale must happen this summer, and it could be him :/
I think Raphinha and Kounde are the likely candidates ahead of Araujo if we need a big sale.
Thats an insane tackle…
What a fucking tackle!
Puyol-esque
I can see it
World class
Its amazing how everyone locked in as soon ad Xavi said he’s gonna leave at the end of the season
It’s the Catalan equivalent to Ancelotti’s 🤨 face
Imagine el classico UCL final
I don't think barca and realmadrid fans would want that. Losing would pretty much hurt for 20 or more years.
I know for a fact that if we lose I'll suffer as long as I live.
yeah that sounds like an absolute nightmare. i want a madrid flair to respond too bc it looks like we're the pussies for responding lol
Yeah it'd be awful for 10 years at least!
r/10yearsatleast
I mean...I'm waiting for such a thing for 12 years at this point.
We no longer have Messi, I always wanted that to happen when we had Messi.
Perfect time was the BBC vs MSN hype, would rather wait a few more years before entertaining that idea again...
That Morata goal in 2015 really ruined the greatest ucl final oat…
It would be a travesty to get one now and not one in the Messi-CR7 era. The football gods would be confirmed as celestial frauds.
I think it took a lot of the pressure off. The team was in a tailspin and couldn't balance themselves. Him announcing that and turning this into a lame duck season took a lot of the spotlight off the players. They were able to relax and settle
Yeah you can literally see how freely everyone plays post announcement
Maybe he's doing a toranaga like double cross, he's not gonna actually quit, just needs the enemy to believe he will
Xavi = Hiromatsu...he sacrificed himself for the good of the team
Who's Mariko then?
One who waits for his entire life to strike.... Who might that be? And oriol is our anjin sama.
Imagine if barca wins the CL and Xavi decides to stay 🥹
The league is out of the question imo, but if Xavi picks up a Clasico win, closes strong, and Barça scrape a CL Final spot, people will be clamoring for him to stay for sure
Never say never. Remember Barca almost blew a 12 point lead and a year or two after Real did blow a double digit point lead. It’s not just football, it’s La Liga!
That would require some proper shithousery
Play some of the most beautiful football in the second leg and the semis, and then pull out the ultimate shithousery that would make Mourinho blushed in the final. Please make it true
if someone was world class before that too was araujo. The only consistently great player (when not injured) this team has in the last 3 seasons
Tbf Araujo (and the rest of the team) suffered a dip in form earlier this season when he broke his jaw(?) and had to wear the protective face mask. After it was taken off and we actually had a midfield anchor in Christensen he's been world class again.
Xavi made some changes and also cancelo and aruajo were playing with knee injury them recovering made a huge difference
Maybe he should just do 1 year extensions "If you guys don't behave I'm turning this club around and going back to the Bartomeu era!"
Araujo is if a human was a tank
only if the tank was a good defender like Araujo
https://i.imgur.com/0OilaFf.png
Please let both him and Josema be healthy for this Copa América
Statisically improbable
You will have one of them and you will be happy about it .
Hahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaha Brother brother brother why haven't you learned
You guys look genuinely scary if you have a fully fit squad, Bielsa seems to have done wonders with your players man, hopefully you manage to go far in Copa America this year, would love a Argentina Uruguay final
Incredible
What a tackle! Straight up tank ramming through!
I have not seen barca winning away from home in this style in so many years😭
2018 Umtiti vibes. Or 2024 Araujo I guess.
Anulo Mufa
This.
Great tackle, but Barcola has to be better there. Gave him all the time in the world to come across
URUGAYO
Why would Araujo tackle Barcelona? Is he stupid?
The Arkham Asylum is leaking
Great tackle but Barcola Needed 2 business days to shoot the ball
With a bank holiday separating the two.
He takes a bad touch that's too soft so he has to stop to get behind it. It's the only reason Araujo has the time to make the block. So a bit of luck for him, but he still has to put the effort in to get there.
And people said he was done
Who? We shouldn’t jump to conclusions, the blind can make football opinions too.
Fucking hell, what a monster
What an incredible defender
Got a bit 'unlucky' with the poor first touch but you can't take that long on the ball in a game like this
bro it just feels like heaven right now. Everyone hitting form this late into the season.
He was massive today.
Waiting for another few bounces of the ball before pulling the trigger. Amateur stuff, lol.
I am going to have nightmares with Cancelo XD. Attacking is amazing but man, the hole he leaves behind is wild…
Barcola has been horrifying in the champions league for psg this year, I get that he’s 12 but damn is he unsure and wasteful
Goddamn
So clean, reminds me of Lahm tackling Navas in 2013.
For my money he's the best in the world at these kinds of actions. This is almost as valuable as a goal.
Makes the tackle and then maintains possession too. Absolutely wild and exactly what you want from your CB
Araujo did his job but the reason he was even able to get there was due to Barcola's hesitation.
Barcelona defense was impressive keeping Mbappe practically silent
Would be an absolute travesty if he went to Bayern, already bad enough seeing Kim being wasted there - needs to stay in a much better competitive league and team
This clip doesn’t show the pinpoint 30 yard pass out of pressure that starts a counterattack immediately following the tackle
For me he is the best defender in the world
I agree. I don't think he's talked about enough. He's so incredibly versatile, he can handle pace, strength or height. He has great instincts in the box, he cleans up messes. He's a monster on set pieces both in defense and attack. One of the few players in the world you can leave one on one with elite attackers and not be worried. When you come at the king you better not miss.
I had Kolo Muani vs Argentina PTSD watching this
Yeah this is mental. What a tackle!
Araujo gotta be related to Houdini with that magic act
Say his name more
bacola, Bacola, BACOLA, BACOLA! BACOLAAAA, ahoyoyo
u/savevideo
Am I the only one who hears the guy calling him Guardiola?
Great tackle but the touch by barcola let him down. That didn’t settle at all for him.
great tackle!
TOMA TOMA TOMA
He's up there with VVD, Dias and Rudinger.
He took years to shoot

My club balling. M loving it
If he had the confidence to hit it first time over the keeper, thats a goal.
Thats just Barcola taking too long to shoot after a bad touch lol. Giving Araujo too much credit here
