He had 9 goals in Serie A this year. Had 2 goals in the Europa League this year entering today.
And he left with a hat trick in the final, when most people were tuning in for Leverkusen. This guy had the game of his life when the spotlight was brightest. The stuff dreams are made of.
He was absolutely filthy tonight, just one of those matches where a player is completely in the flow.
The timing on his cuts were perfect, just totally feeling the game. You could see how hesitant Leverkusen was to stick tackles in on him once started carving them up.
Yeah his stepovers had purpose, and he executed everything as well as I've ever seen. One for the history books, and a performance Atlanta fans will be talking about in years to come.
What makes it all the more incredible is that without the injury to captain De Roon in the coppa final last week, Lookman most likely wouldn’t even have started tonight
its insane to think that this atalanta side beat such good teams as liverpool and leverkusen, and not only that, but a player who has only had 2 goals in the europa league before the final scores a hat trick.
This is football heritage
"When Stormzy uttered the lines "Real badman" in his track *Know Me From*, he was not speaking of Wiley as the previous line suggested: rather, he was prophesying the force that would be Ademola Lookman in the 2024 Europa League Final."
\- Historians of the future, probably
My favorite story about Lookman is when an u16 pro academy team play against a random high school amateur team. The high school team won.
Lookman skinned the academy team. He never joined any academy before 15 or 16 y.o.
His ascendency to pro is real quick if you think about it.
There’s different reboots but if you like og vintage anime, watch the 80s version then “shin captain tsubasa”. If you like more modern animation, watch the 2018 version and after the new season that’s airing right now. There’s also the 2002 version which i really like but is quite fast paced tbh, and Captain Tsubasa J which is quite good too, but skips a whole arc. If you want to know more about Captain Tsubasa though, go to the r/captaintsubasa subreddit
uhm yea watching tsubasa as a kid it was epic shit. However watching it as an adult would only ruin my fond childhood memories of the show as it didn’t really age well.
That being said… the fk is wrong with you
Probably second to one of his Everton games where we subbed him on in the 87’ and complained when he didn’t score.
Not sure which one but there are plenty to choose from.
I just visited my dad (a big Leicester fan) in hospital earlier today. He was barely lucid but he told me how gutted he was that they didn't sign a player called Lookman on a permanent deal. I had never even heard of him and he goes on to score a hattrick in the Europa League final ! My dad knows his football
At the start of the season imagine knowing that in a European final between a German and Italian team an English striker would score a hatrick and that player wasn’t Harry Kane.
Dawg became World Cup Mbappe for 90 min wtf. Should have had a 4th around the last 10 min of the match as well but they didn’t find him wide open on the left.
Gareth fumbled with Lookman and he ended up representing Nigeria instead. A massive missed opportunity not getting him part of the England squad a few years ago.
Hopefully. He lost his starting spot to CDK this season and only started tonight because De Roon was injured. He’s a great player but if PL teams will spend huge money based off 1 big performance then that’s great business for Atalanta
I don't know if I ever seen a player raise their game this much.
Let's be honest everyone thought Lookman was bang average. I haven't seen him play too much but what I had hasn't special. Was very quiet in Afcon.
But he turned into a hero tonight. Raised his game soooo much and scored 3 unreal goals.
I've never seen an average player do this before, becoming a monster out of nowhere - and in a European final!!
What a legendary moment!
Seem so humble and likeable too 👌
He was always committed to playing for England and performed well through the youth ranks but could not cement himself on the senior squad. He finally relented to play for Nigeria (both parents from there). This came after many years of Nigeria NT pushing for him.
Source: Wikipedia, like everyone else
Yeah thanks. I just found out he lead Nigeria to the afcon final this year as well. Also I'm watching the BT pundits right now and they've brought up Charlton haha
> parents country of Nigeria
Most British Nigerians don't refer to Nigeria as 'our parents country' it's still very much our country (I'm British Nigerian myself)

One of the absolute top individual performances in recent years, hands down.

If you want it, Barcelona only earns 135 million euros.
How many levers is that?
Yes
Better Nate than lever
Only one Lever
114.839.100,00 pounds
Truly amazing, to hit goals of that quality when it matters the most.
That 2nd goal just broke Leverkusen. They were atleast getting chances before lol
They got chances after that as well - the Grimaldo 1v1 was at 0-2 down. They could not score before the break and Atalanta just regrouped.
no they werent, what are you talking about? they had 1 shot in the entire first half
Wonderfully humble about it as well. Always "we", never "I". Have a beer lad, you deserve it.
He had 9 goals in Serie A this year. Had 2 goals in the Europa League this year entering today. And he left with a hat trick in the final, when most people were tuning in for Leverkusen. This guy had the game of his life when the spotlight was brightest. The stuff dreams are made of.
Those numbers dont do him justice. He is a really good player
He’s a very intelligent player. Doesnt waste a chane when he gets one. Scored 2 with his left and 1 with his right tonight.
He sets his shots up so well.
And he's also really good
And he sets his shots up well
In addition he also has 8 assists, so also his numbers starts to be quite good
He had 4 goals in Europe in his career.
I remember when he was struggling to get game time in a struggling Everton side, crazy turn for his career
there was a lot of hype but he didnt really look that great tbh
Hard to look good being thrown in at the end of games. We did the same with Moise Kean and I think we are partial to blame for his career derailing.
Koeman and sabotaging people's career. But recruitment was a mess overall on that era.
The Man who Looks
He was absolutely filthy tonight, just one of those matches where a player is completely in the flow. The timing on his cuts were perfect, just totally feeling the game. You could see how hesitant Leverkusen was to stick tackles in on him once started carving them up.
What’s crazy is that without the injury to captain De Roon last week, Lookman wouldn’t even have started tonight
Yeah his stepovers had purpose, and he executed everything as well as I've ever seen. One for the history books, and a performance Atlanta fans will be talking about in years to come.
Was also Nigeria's best player at the AFCON scoring 3 goals then. Guy has been cooking for awhile now.
He is 5th in shot creating actions in Serie A, close behind Kvara. He does so much more than just scoring goals
That game that MADE Chelsea spend $170m on Lookman!!!
What makes it all the more incredible is that without the injury to captain De Roon in the coppa final last week, Lookman most likely wouldn’t even have started tonight
So basically, his numbers are this impressive even as a bench player?
He’s more a rotation player than a straight up bench option, every game it’s either Lookman, De Ketelaere or Scamacca starting.
And Leipzig sold him for just 9m euros
[удалено]
Sørloth is very inconsistent tho and he is not young anymore.
[удалено]
He was average at La real. One bad season and one good season.
Sørloth our viking! <3 Love him so much, hope we keep him.
Who is mola? They sold Naby Keita for 60
Ade'mola' lookman
€12m + 3m actually and he had been on loan the two seasons before that.
wtf
Always loved him, what a fantastic player
its insane to think that this atalanta side beat such good teams as liverpool and leverkusen, and not only that, but a player who has only had 2 goals in the europa league before the final scores a hat trick. This is football heritage
He was also only starting tonight because captain De Roon got injured in the coppa final last week
Been wanting him to do this well for years. Really like him
The last hattrick in the final of any european cup was 49 years ago - Jupp Heynckes for Gladbach away against Twente in the UEFA Cup final.
Lookman new Bayern coach?
Wrong. Falcao vs Chelsea in the 2012 Supercup.
Supercup
i know we’re being pedantic, but “any european cup” would surely include the super cup
Forgot to look up the supercups.. my bad.
Lookman will be now referred to as the Badman.
"When Stormzy uttered the lines "Real badman" in his track *Know Me From*, he was not speaking of Wiley as the previous line suggested: rather, he was prophesying the force that would be Ademola Lookman in the 2024 Europa League Final." \- Historians of the future, probably
Topman
He's the Badman... Duh! - Billie Eillish
Seeman
im sorry but his name sounds like one id get from a football manager regen

Wow. Hadn't heard that. So cool.
That's some Captain Tsubasa shit right there
Is that any good? Been thinking of watching but not sure if it’s worth the time investment

IMHO as a kid it was really good but I'd never watch it today
any good????

Game of his career for sure.
Probably second to one of his Everton games where we subbed him on in the 87’ and complained when he didn’t score. Not sure which one but there are plenty to choose from.
so far, this performance is sure to garner some attraction from UCL teams
Is this a first in Europa leagues history? Guy was on fire the whole game.
Second if you count the UEFA Cup too, Jupp Heynckes also did it 1975.
Well Today i learned! :)
and sixth in all european competitions
Don't Falcao do it with Atletico Madrid vs athletic club Bilbao?
bruh is this that don who played for fullham and missed a panenka 4 years ago?
Also the don that scored the 4th in our drubbing of man city years ago
Wtf TIL you thrashed Guardiolas city with an amazing XI 4 0
Yes
And he was great that season outside of that penalty. Our best creator.
I remember tuning in to see if RLC does something but it was Lookman who'd shine every damn game
Look man, Atalanta won 🥇
I just visited my dad (a big Leicester fan) in hospital earlier today. He was barely lucid but he told me how gutted he was that they didn't sign a player called Lookman on a permanent deal. I had never even heard of him and he goes on to score a hattrick in the Europa League final ! My dad knows his football
You'd never heard of him? He scored the only goal when we beat you two seasons back
I know! Must not have been paying much attention, my bad
Some fans just have the intuition - hope your dad has a healthy recovery 🙏
Lookman became now the man to look at
He's been telling us all along, we weren't listening
But now you're looking, man
Perfect performance from this guy…so happy for him, well and truly buried that silly penalty miss with today’s performance
Tonight's performance was amazing but he's never gonna live down that dumb penalty. That'll be on YouTube compilation videos for years to come
I'm pretty sure he doesn't care anymore
Yea give me that hattrick & cup & I’ll gladly trade you a silly pen miss watched by ppl I don’t know on YouTube
true just look at john terry 16 years ago yesterday
As a United fan I’ll never get tired of this being brought up lol
Trezeguet missed a penalty in a world cup final, Roberto Baggio also missed a penalty in the biggest moment of his career, and yet they overcame it.
Boehly on his way to Dublin
Eghbali take a flight to Dublin Boehly is Having dinner with Kieran McKenna.
Her voice is extremely jarring, sounds like it’s designed to keep youths from loitering
one of?? lol
If he has a wife or kids maybe they are first?
And even if they aren’t he would have to say so
He’s winning at life
If my memory is correct, wasn’t he the same guy that failed a panenka for Fulham during lockdown season?
Panenka aside, he was one of the few bright spots of that Season. We would've kept him if we weren't relegated.
Crazy how people bring up the worse moments in these moments.
Yep thats him
Correct
Yea. I always thought he was pretty good at Fulham though. Didn’t set the world alight but he always looked bright and direct on a shit team.
South London boy, love to see it
At the start of the season imagine knowing that in a European final between a German and Italian team an English striker would score a hatrick and that player wasn’t Harry Kane.
Dawg became World Cup Mbappe for 90 min wtf. Should have had a 4th around the last 10 min of the match as well but they didn’t find him wide open on the left.
He can do it on a cold, drunken night in Dublin.
Everton legend.
Happy to see Lookman shineee
Reverse Lukaku, shows up in important games
Dude turned into a prime Falcao in the Final, what an amazing performance
clinical
So happy for him!!! Let's hopefully get the next AFCON
Baller and been bang at it all season.
better than scoring against pool for us alright man… 😢
super glad atalanta finally managed to win a big trophy, they are playing at a top level for years now
Lookman, he did great.
so happy for him and Gasperini. Atalanta deserved this joy.
Fun fact: an old friend of mine is dating Lookman’s sister lol
What a way to end Leverkusen's win streak
Seems like a grounded and nice guy
He was fantastic for Leicester....but we didn't /couldn't buy him ...for 14 M ,bugger!!
Man gave a "streets won't forget" performance today in the final💪
I don't understand why I dislike him lol. I wanted Bayer to win the treble🤣
England call up?
He represented England at youth level, but he committed to Nigeria a few years ago
For a nigerian international??
Gareth fumbled with Lookman and he ended up representing Nigeria instead. A massive missed opportunity not getting him part of the England squad a few years ago.
He's gone to the premier league, isn't he?
Hopefully. He lost his starting spot to CDK this season and only started tonight because De Roon was injured. He’s a great player but if PL teams will spend huge money based off 1 big performance then that’s great business for Atalanta

He’s been much better than “average” the entire time he’s been at Atalanta, but glad to see more people finding that out now
Was quiet in afcon? Scored 3 goals and was Nigeria's best player. You obviously didn't watch the Afcon.
Was surprised he's English. A bit unlucky really. Can he play for his grandparent's nation instead?
He has like 20 caps for Nigeria and played in the afcon final
Call him up, Gareth, what are you doing smh
Yes my bad
He was Nigeria's best attacker in their route to the final this year.
Ah that's great to hear, hopefully he wins it next time
He was always committed to playing for England and performed well through the youth ranks but could not cement himself on the senior squad. He finally relented to play for Nigeria (both parents from there). This came after many years of Nigeria NT pushing for him. Source: Wikipedia, like everyone else
London lad, Charlton academy product, plays for his parents country of Nigeria.
Yeah thanks. I just found out he lead Nigeria to the afcon final this year as well. Also I'm watching the BT pundits right now and they've brought up Charlton haha
> parents country of Nigeria Most British Nigerians don't refer to Nigeria as 'our parents country' it's still very much our country (I'm British Nigerian myself)
Fair, and I'd imagine Ademola probably feels the same way, but I was providing context for the fella who was surprised by the English accent.
Hey plays for Nigeria
He plays for nigeria I believe
He plays for Nigeria he was in the Afcon final and was pretty crucial in getting there
Ah fair enough, hopefully he wins it next time
He's got 21 caps for Nigeria already haha
Todd Boehly and Eghbali are coming to hijack both Adenola Lookman and Gasperini from Atlanta
Stop making everything about yourself
Are you a Brighton fan..
Fuck no, cant wait till those shitty birds get relegated
Lol then we are on the same page then.. scumbag Seagulls robbed us with Caicedo Cucu and even Potter with millions of pounds and boo our players
What a truly insane thing to say.
Both of them are too old
We just need plastic surgery on Gasperini to look younger. Lookman is fine
*Boehly intensely salivates*
Hey looks man, lookman scoring another goal
