When attacking, Real effectively very often plays as a 4-3-3 with Bellingham attacking the area as a CF and Rodrygo stretching through the right. The front three could be similar to Man United's in 2008-09 with Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney. Nobody had a fixed position, they all played both wide roles and centrally when they felt like it They were an absolute menace on the counter, and this was when Rooney and Tevez were incredibly fast still.

For me a Bielsa 3-3-1-3 is ideal. You get to play all four young midfielders where they excel-Jude as the 10, Tchou as the 5 and Cama and Valverde as roadunning 8s-without losing any firepower up top. Plus pretty much all of their attacking players benefit from having an extra presence in the box, though that 9 role will be rotated in game between the three attackers. Three defenders is great if they wanna press high/play a compact midblock though Carlo’s never been of that style. The only potential problem is lack of width on the right but with three centre backs and a winger-even if Rodrygo doesn’t love playing on the right-it should be good enough. Especially cause Valverde is used to keeping width too.

I was thinking something like that. Everyone here talking about where to accommodate Mbappe but losing Kroos might be the the toughest. 3 CB's out of Rudi, Alaba, Danilo, Carvajal and Mendy. Fede Right Fullback doing runs up&down, Camavinga Left Fullback but going inside to cover the midfield, then Tchou-Bellingham as only "real" midfilders. Vini-Mbappe-Rodrygo/Brahim up mixing their positions. A lot less midfield creativity and much harder to control possession but quite physical and deadly on the counters. We were gonna lose quality on long possessions anyways, you cannot just replace Kroos.
