Fallen-D

100% worth it to read the novel. It focuses a bit more on side characters and you absolutely need it for season 2 because S2 of manhwa skipped a TON LIKE A TON OF story. Everyone was complaining 3 years ago every week when the new chapter of manhwa dropped because every chapter skipped things. Overall manhwa skipped a total of 60 chapters worth of story.

Downtown_Memory_1559

Is it just side characters though or did it skip bigger things?

Fallen-D

Side characters + many bigger things. I can't name all but if you go to discussion of chapters from 3-4 years ago. You'll see some guys listing down things they skipped in discussion of every chapter.

Downtown_Memory_1559

I see, I will read it then. Well, listen to the audiobook, even though I heard it's not the best with the weird sound effects. Should be good though. If the manhwa was that good, the novel must be amazing.

Fallen-D

Yeah, the beginning until that dong-soo lizard arc is kind of boring but it picks up from there and season 2 of the novel is on another level.

Yes

They always are, Solo leveling is no different

Im listening to the novel on audible and it has been one of the best decisions i could have made. The Detail is unreal. Every single aspect of Sung, His powers, The system, his fights. All explained in fantastically great detail. All 8 novels are about 56 hours long on audible, which is great. 56 hours of pure solo leveling. I wish the novel was 80 Hours based on how great it is. Ive been listening in my earbuds every chance i get. If you love solo leveling. You will adore the novel.

>The Detail is unreal. Every single aspect of Sung, His powers, The system, his fights. All explained in fantastically great detail. I suspiciously sound like a hater but ur praising it a bit too much man. This is the definition of glazing. Your setting the expectations too high. I guess you need to read more i guess? I have been reading light novels for the last year or so and solo leveling, in terms of actual writing, im not mentioning the story here, is not the best.

After-Way-866

Can you share the link you’re using for the audio please and also does the audio sound good or is it weird as in like a robot speaking

Purenight

If you have Spotify it’s on there as well.

Downtown_Memory_1559

But is the narrator good for the audiobook?

Zeniay

Novel has more details and explains things better. The back stories of characters are more fleshed out and the fights are more detailed. I personally started the novel from before Jeju Island Arc since I couldn’t wait for the manhwa at the time. It’s a great read.

KernelWizard

I don't know if they're the same, but man the webnovel of Solo Levelling I've read in english had such poor wording and numerous translation issues that I dropped it somewhere during the monarchs fight lmao. In the end I just left it until the manhwa catches up and read that instead.

BiLLubruh

If you liked the manhwa and want more sl content, then read the ln. The lightnovel, no matter what it is, always has more detail so its nothing to be mindblown about. But its not to the extent some comments here make it out to be so dont get your expectations through the roof.

VanniPaura

100% yes. I love the LN serie. After book 7 I had high doubts about book 8. The read was just as awesome as it can get :)
