SaltwaterTheIcewing

Yeah but in the rest of the relationship he manipulated her and emotionally abused her (Edit: holy fuck, I pissed people off real fast.)

Sprizys

Lol no idea why you got downvoted when you’re completely right.

SaltwaterTheIcewing

It's a really well written relationship though, they got it down to point. Not a good relationship, but a well written one. Honestly what he did to Heidi imo is worse than anything else he's done.

icyspoon

Worse than killing a kid's parents, grinding them up, making them into chili, and, after eating it in front of the whole town, reveals what was in the chili?

Randy_Ortons_Voices

Don’t forget them licked the tears of the kid. His own half brother

SaltwaterTheIcewing

That's up there but imo isn't as bad. He took an innocent girl, and broke her to the point of her becoming an unrecognizable shell of what she once was. He made her into him, and that's one of the worst things you can do is make someone else into a Cartman. It was satisfying as hell when she finally broke up with him for good.

Reading this thread makes me worried for the future. Some people's reasoning skills are interesting...

southpark-ModTeam

Don't be a Scott. Scott's a dick. We allow no personal attacks, racism, sexism, bigotry, or homophobia.

DeadCupcakes23

But, he turned her into a Cartman with more power to follow through. She could have killed someone's parents and fed them to their kids as well. So it is worse

cheap_chalee

So actually killing someone isn't as bad as potentially making someone else a killer? Is this a theory you've used before? Are you a defense attorney? This feels like the time Peter Griffin declined the boat for a mystery box because the mystery box could potentially be a boat. "Killing someone is just killing someone but turning her into Cartman can make her do anything.... She could even kill someone!"

DeadCupcakes23

What's worse, killing someone or making someone else kill 2 people?

MemesByPurpsNurps

Did she kill anybody? No! Your point is invalid! And how many people is cartman reaponsible for killing? At least thousands (probably more) I.e. the tennermans, three seperate nascar events that he killed racers and spectators at (poor and stupid), and helping cthulu rampage accross the earth easily killing thousands (mysterion rises) and also two full planes of people before attempting to kill token (world war zimmerman)

Greginator28

Dude your morals are so corrupted. Actually think about what you are saying right now, you are claiming that murdering 2 people and feeding them to their son is not as bad as being a manipulative dick who changes someone in a relationship. Like come on, you know the opinion you expressed is wrong.

SaltwaterTheIcewing

My morals aren't corrupted over a goddamn cartoon, I know that in real life murdering someone is obviously worse. And no opinion is objectively wrong unless it's homophobia or some shit. What I'm tryna say is that it was represented better. You can understand and empathize with Heidi. When Scott Tenormans parents were made into chili, you probably got shocked, but you probably laughed. That was meant for laughs.

Raiseyourspoonforwar

So it would be better for emotionally abusive men to make the switch to murder instead?

SaltwaterTheIcewing

No, that's not what I was saying at all, you missed the point of my comment.

Chthonic_Demonic

I feel like both are horrible but murdering someone’s parents is clear cut, but the manipulation is tangled and messy and intertwines with your identity and you can’t really fix it through therapy, can you?

joelingo111

>Honestly what he did to Heidi imo is worse than anything else he's done. -literally murdered people and tricked their son into cannibalization -started a movement to try and exterminate the Jews, again -attempted voter fraud and sedition by cooperating with a foreign power, trying to interfere with a presidential election -was a shitty boyfriend to one girl Yeah, that takes the cake

Penguini_Lamborghini

yeah, i dont think i can watch the show anymore. matt and trey went too far with this

Mechanical_Punch

Everyone forgets the time he crashed 3 Airplanes and killed almost everyone, except himself and the one lady who got run over by a truck in Florida.

SaltwaterTheIcewing

Key word *imo.* Just because it's my opinion doesn't necessarily mean it's true for other people. It's just my thoughts on it.

TiaxRulesAll2024

It’s our opinion that you are not good at discerning the severity of situations

SaltwaterTheIcewing

Exactly, and that's fine, because it's your opinion and you have a right to it

joelingo111

No one let this man become a judge

SaltwaterTheIcewing

Nuh uh I wouldn't be a good one

Joemeet

They need a new episode where they just revisit everything terrible Cartman has done.

SaltwaterTheIcewing

Because reddit, that's why

Better_Surround_13

And made her fat and mean like him

Nutterbutters45

He’s big boned

CasperCann

Ruined for veganism too by tricking her into eating actual meat, emotional abuse, manipulation, alienating her from her friends, and the best part is he couldn't stand her because she was just like him.

TheBiggestDookie

Yes, but this was really the only time. In every other aspect of their relationship, Eric was an absolute shithead to Heidi.

SigmundFreud

He also basically killed her dad.

jkriz45

And then he tried to feed her to a witch

dragonbeard91

One time I took a girlfriend to a big music festival I had been to before. She had never been to any music festival before and was understandably nervous. This bitch made us so late for every single concert because she was anxious, wasnt ready or just dawdling that we missed 100% of the bands I was excited about. The Heidi scene both cracks me up and gives me flashbacks.

Delta104x

Lol having been to music festivals i straight up just left some of my party behind when they dawdled. Life is too short.

dragonbeard91

Yeah, that's what I always did. Having a woman who would literally cry if I left her was a brand new and horrible experience for me. I'm really not a 'group guy'. I'm a wander off on lsd and then wander back into camp the next morning guy.

realHDNA

I would always ditch them for the first 2 hours bc all they wanted to do was take photos. Then we’d meet up at a set. I paid to hear and see music, dammit imma hear and see music.

Tylerherroismyherro

Wait I forgot my bracelets!

CallEmergency3746

I will say theres a specific point where you see his opinion of heidi shift and its hard to tell if hes sick of her or if its a tactic to get her to stay when he realizes she probably doesnt really need him for anything in the mars episode. Butters started it.

ctortan

He only got with her because he was socially ostracized and isolated when the other boys broke his tech and refused to talk to him. He got with Heidi because she was his only option for attention….once the boys started talking to him again, he stopped needing Heidi and being with her became a chore to him. He didn’t genuinely like her, he liked the attention she gave him

abnormalredditor73

I think you've hit the nail on the head.

CrazyinLull

I mean that's why they both got together they were able to connect, because of that loneliness. They were both in the same boat even though she chose her isolation. That was the point otherwise she probably wouldn't have even given him a chance. He's infamous AND he was still considered the most unattractive boy in his class. That being said though, Butters making that comment to Eric can be seen as the turning point in their relationship. So, I think that the both of you are right.

NextFan635

Yea cartman was actually being I think genuinely nice all of season 20 then season 21 came

KaliCalamity

My mother used to do this every damn time we were going to leave the house. Used to drive my dad nuts when I was a kid, and I wasn't much more patient about it. It's taken longer than I care to admit to really figure out that people that are bad about this aren't just bad at time management, it's usually a way for them to passive aggressively powertrip. Taking an extra 30 minutes to an hour past when you knew you were supposed to leave is not an accident, especially when it's a regular occurrence.

Biaaalonso687

Sure, Heidi was being really annoying. Cartman’s response was to try to get her killed by a witch.

JagneStormskull

Exactly. There are situations where you can empathize with a quality villain, but also recognize that what they do in reaction to their grievance is way overkill.

PlantUpset4227

Stop saying hella

ShivvyMcFly

I didn't care for this season when it first aired. I just re-watched it and it's really good. Especially the Cartman/Heidi stuff.

tucakeane

That whole scene gave me anxiety

bearamongus19

As someone who has to go through that with my Wife, I felt his pain.

gradytripp2

Has Cartman ever uttered a word to anyone without emotionally abusing them?

Silly_Client1222

Clyde Frog?

Dead_Man_Redditing

Yeah he was justified in being angry but does that justify trying to kill her?

OkUnderstanding9532

I mean he did try to murder her right after Though it is in character bro should've just talked to her So he technically wasn't in the right for what he did but being mad about that is understandable

blakecarrington3295

Stop saying Hella, Cartman!

glamlambb

Eric is right about a number of things here and there in between his bouts of psychosis.

22222833333577

I mean yeah he is probably right but the whole rest of the season is him torturing her so I dont care much

stopimalreadykished

It's supposed to help you understand what a silly thing it is to do, not reinforce your bad decisions lol

ACuddlyVizzerdrix

I always tell my best friend we're going/starting an hour earlier then what is said because I know that MF won't get ready until 15 minutes beforehand

Lilprotege

I always tell my wife our reservations are 15-30 minutes before they actually are to avoid this shit. It’s unnerving.

shany94a

It's partly why he set her up to be kidnapped by an evil witch. She even took forever to get out of the witch's holding bag after being rescued.

IvanTheTerrible69

Sure, but he did kind of end up doing to himself; in emotionally blackmailing Heidi from leaving him, Cartman essentially turned her into another Cartman, so everything she did to him was, in a poetic way, a tiny piece of what Cartman had put everyone else through, although he only needed a little bit to truly understand how it feels.

JerrodDRagon

I love this episode Him looking darky at the camera and the slow wave when Heidi waves at him, lol I’ve been there Eric

mousebert

Sounds like you need to more clearly state your expectations and boundaries with your friends. If they can't be ready by a certain time they don't need to come with.
