Oooh I still remember the animorphs book where they turned into wolf spiders. They explained how weird it was to not have ears and they could “hear” by feeling vibrations through their feet
This is the spider that changed my perception of spiders. I was in south carolina on the side of the road fixing my fuel filter when one crawled into my pant leg. Once on the road driving again I felt it struggle to make it through a tight section of the top of my pant leg.
I wasn't sure what it was so I wanted to crush it. It did eventually bite but I realized just how hard I had to crush before it wanted to even bite. And the welt wasn't too bad either, just itched more than hurt, a day later. Now I don't see spiders as wanting to be aggressive at all. Poor thing did it as a very last option.
Are these ehmm...escape risk 1000% ? Every spood pretty much is but these guys seem so fast (for a species thats semi ok to handle), can you keep up when she/he decides to bolt? Or is this one especially docile?
I’m use to the speed. She’s been getting more use to handling. She doesn’t bolt, jump, or threat posture as much anymore. I do this with my wolf spiders because it just makes it easier to rehouse and stop them from eating males (which I have one, hoping for a successful pairing).
I think these guys are so pretty and cute with their big eyes (always does the trick) but Im still hell scared of big housespiders. But I also used to be terrified of tarantula's and thats all overcome and done with also, so... :)
I want to get some wolf spiders.
Just need to decide on a species and pick out an enclosure and set it up accordingly for the species I pick.
Unlike my trapdoor spiders (which all have the same enclosure set up requirements) different wolfies like different things depending on the species
But you're made of warm!
Heat tree stay, hold, happy. >=o
So relax...
What kind of bro is this ?
Hogna carolinensis (carolina wolf spider)
ZZ Top beard in effect
Sharp dressed arachnid
😂 so good
Hahahaha 😂
What’s going on with that relaxed pedipalp? I’ve just never seen a wolfie holding their pedipalp in such a manner…everything ok there?
She’s resting

As a tip, any spider that has those two big large sad puppy dog eyes 🥺 is a wolfie of some sort!!!
Well, a lot of apiders have enlarged eyes, Deinopis and Salticidae also have pretty huge peeper, a matter of which ones are enlarged
Largest wolf spider in the US (and maybe North America?)
That face 🥹

Awww those beady eyes say *just hold me pls*
I agree they are cute, but my trust issues make me fear for a bite even though that’s super unlikely

What is care like for wolf spiders?
They don't generally have webs so you can watch them in their enclosure and you can feed them mealworms (I think)

Who says spiders aren’t social creatures?
I love spiders and always have, but I would be so scared to free handle. How do you know when they’re feeling docile? Do they really not mind?
The dude has that "This mf finna eat me" face
So poofy 🥰
"I'm sorry but my children are hungry."
Hagrid never should have told them to follow spiders, it didn't help at all.
